Gonna try and do this in one sitting. Well i have read around 5M words in less than a week. so lets see if i can do this =D Not yet though i have only had 3 1/2 hours sleep in 3 days. tomorrow i will attempt this =3

The Spirit of Redemption » by Myetel
Chapters: 87 - Words: 1,150,712

The Spectres fight against threats to both the galaxy and their families on Mindoir. Shepard/Garrus, multiple OCs, largly expanded universe. Includes Redemption, Hunt, Unity, and Victory.

Please don't get me started on this fic.  Please, just don't.

Two words: Hybrid babies.

Another thing: Female turians become snarling monsterous killers who have to be restrained when they get their "cycles."

Um... by 5M, you don't mean five million, do you?

I guess it's possible... if an average fic has 10 000 words, then to make 5 million you'd need around 500 stories?
Still, it's damn impressive. And a tad disturbing.

@Widowspeak: Aye, I had to change to the other address to get mine to work (the non-username one). Silly FF.

@Arcana: Interesting theory about Tuchanka/Sur'Kesh. It sort of depends when in the plotline the mission to retrieve "Eve" happens. At this point Shepard would have Liara and Garrus and presumably VS plus Vega in the party (unless VS and Vega leave sometime after Earth for some reason).

I like your idea and it isn't one I've thought of but I get the feeling Sur'kesh happens somewhere between the the beginning and the middle (since we're fighting Cerberus and not Reapers). What would really make me estatic is if Mama Vakarian is also on Sur'Kesh but there's no hints that she would be. The turian-krogan alliance really threw me off, it just seems so unlikely given their history but.. well desperate times, desperate measures and all that.

As much as I love Garrus I have a hard time thinking of him as some sort of Hierarchy ambassador or representative of the turians as a species so.. maybe he's just along for the ride in that scenario? No idea, but it's fun to think about!

And This is nice -

Image IPB

edit: @leonia: Garrus as a representative? .......Doesnt compute with my brain XD Though who knows....it might surprise us? I wouldnt think of it as him a representative though. Maybe he's there because he knows Wrex and knew the importance of this alliance. He's probably there because he just wants to. Like you said - "in that scenario." Seeing as Shep was going to trial - Garrus might have thought to contniue to keep things rolling from where Shep left off. Kinda pick up the reins while she gets things settled on her end.

And apparently we'll see him early. Casey said the salarian homeworld mission is quite early in the game :3

I have to respectfully disagree.  Hybrid babies in science fiction is just about one of the dumbest ideas ever.

Hey, widowspeak? The link to your fanfiction in your signature isn't working. Thought you should know.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

Not kidding, though. Check your first "Check."

Funny, as it's working on our computers on this end...

My guess is FFnet is being wonky, as I'm getting the same error message I got when I clicked on Leonia's link.  *kicks FFnet*
Behave, damn you!  :pinched:

Huh. Works in IE alright, but not in Opera. Just so you know it wasn't a joke. Could be some cache thing. In any case:

*chuckles* Livvie, darling, I know you weren't "just" joking.  (Though your quip really was quite cute. ^_^)  I always appreciate help, no matter the issue. ;)

EDIT: And it has been having that same problem in Firefox, as well, so it's definitely not an isolated problem.

Totally, absolutely agree. Adoption is more acceptable if one really feels the need to bring children into things (and there is precedence of this with an asari couple adopting turian twins after the Taetrus war, gotta love those CDN stories) but in general I'm just.. not down with the whole implausible baby thing. The biologist in me just can't handle bending rules like that (not that I feel comfortable with the theme of family raising between two galactic badasses such as Shepard and Garrus but hey that's just personal preference). To each their own, I guess that's the beauty of fanfiction, the sky's really the limit on what is possible and if some people like that sort of thing.. more power to them.

I have a question. Somebody said there was "that little story about Saren that Drew wrote." Not a real quote, I'm paraphrasing from memory. Don't know if I saw this here or on DA or FF among comments.

So... does that stand for Revelation (which isn't exactly a "little story"), or is there something else by D. Karpyshyn about Saren?

Garrus can be a lot of things but an ambassador to his ppl i dont see it. I mean yes he can give you cue and back you with the details but if you go and say 'ill talk to the Hierarchy, they will understand that our mission takes priority' im fairly certain he wont say 'oh yes lets talk to them. They will certainly see reason'. Hes just not a diplomatic character (not saying hes brutish, but he doenst believe in politics and doesnt have the patience to play games and make nice). Thats why diplomacy is Shepard's business (Miss Paragon that is :innocent:)

Also i really hope we get to see his family. Well his sis and maybe his father. His mother i think might not have made it through the evacution of Palaven since shes got that degeneration syndrome. But anyway 'Meet the Vakarians' could be the start of some fun memes and comic strips one day.

Revelation was the only novel that featured Saren.. Saren is also in the Evolution comics but Drew had nothing to do with those. I'm not sure where the "little story" comes in unless it is referring to the comics.

Ooookay, if we're going to keep posting spoilers, I'm out of here. Sorry, but I'm trying to avoid them.

*sigh* Back to being bored, then, since I can't hang out here anymore.

I thought perhaps there was a series of character pieces, like the DA writers did before DA2.

There's nothing of the sort mentioned on Saren's page on the ME Wiki. But that's not saying much. I'd be interested if you found such short stories on him.

Understandable and I'm sorry about bringing it up :( Can anyone give me pointers on this color-changing text thing because the BBCode isn't working and using the advanced options and choosing the right shade of grey doesn't stick when I submit a post.
