Subscribing to a thread lists it here. That's it. It behaves just like the topic list in the forums, but only lists the threads you've subscribed to.

At least, it's never done anything else for me.

Wellll, for what it's worth, I'll probably be sticking it out here with you spoiler-avoiders. I managed to maintain my innocence (and turn off my brain/get absorbed enough in the story) to be genuinely surprised by the Archangel reveal. That moment was a sheer delight and one of the most memorable gaming moments I've yet enjoyed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get some new 'Archangel' moment in ME3... maybe not another identity reveal, but something that takes me off guard and thrills me even 30% as much.
