Actually Arcana, I've never considered it at length until you said that...but I would MELT if he did something like that. <3

edit: top!  I found this on Google with "officer vakarian"...the page lists this as Garrus (obv. not)...early concept or something??

GASP! That not Garrus! IMPOSTER! XDDD
yea- probably early concept. Theres a wallpaper of me1 with the turian "claiming" its garrus too. And blah - orange visor! evil! Blue ftw! Blue is sexier.

And yes Kg - im sure we would ALL melt :3 I have the ability to literally pause my screen with a remote [im sure others can as well]. Ive gotten to stare at Garrus often XD

Visor is on the wrong side, whoa that is messing with my head. Just as fanarts with visor-less Garrus do. It's funny, originally the monocle kind of bothered me but now I can't see him without it.. it's like, seeing him shirtless. Almost. If that makes any sense.

It would be really nice if ME3 had the classic outfits for every character, in addition to their new outfits. I'd love Garrus to have the Turian Agent, Turian Rebel, and Turian Officer outfits.

I love thinking of Garrus as an Officer.

I always go down to the main battery before I recruit him just to hear EDI when she says, "A Gunnery Officer is required to access the Gunnery Control Station."  I don't know why but just knowing that she's referring to Garrus, holy swoon-o-rama!:wub:

Hmm remind me what qualification Garrus actually has to use the Normandy's weaponry? XD He was a cop and then a vigilante... Sure he's a good sniper and techy but has he actually worked on a dreadnought before?

Perhaps I'm a bit pessimistic, but I don't think any of the devs read this thread or the one in ME3 forums, or any of the character threads for that matter. Why?

1) They are too long. Nobody can read hundreds, let alone thousands of pages. To make any sense of the ongoing conversations, you have to go at least two, five, ten pages back. The devs don't have that kind of time.

2) There's a rather small, cohesive group of fans who make the majority of posts. The post count doesn't reflect the number of people participating in the discussions. What I'm saying here is that we don't represent the community of Garrus fans very well - we're too few, and our views tend to cluster around the same ideas (most of which we planted into each other's heads). And the devs likely know this too.

I think the best way to promote suggestions and ideas related to Garrus and his romance is to post them in separate threads. Like, start a thread about "Meeting Garrus' family" - and talk only about that. With a strong title, a well written OP and the kind of polite discussion we're all used to in this thread, at least we might get the devs to read, if not to talk to us.

But this hinges in part on none of us going there and saying "Hey, there's already a thread for all things Garrus and it's the one and only official thread, hurr durr," or "Another thread about this? The horror!"

Does that make sense? Or is there some unwritten forum etiquette against it?

In any case, this division in two threads is no good. Right now, Miranda, Kaidan and even Joker have twice as many posts as Garrus, ffs. I'm in the no-spoilers camp, but I've been spoiled here already, and I can totally see it happening again, despite everyone's good intentions. IMO, we should all move to the new forum. More people, fresh ideas, new discussions.

No one's going to care what we say anyway. The game has got to be finished for the most part right now. They're not going to add in more just because we ask for it and possibly add to the bugs they have to work out or delay the release even further.

These threads are just for us, at this point. So, if you wish, have fun in the ME3 threads. It may be a futile hope, but I'd like to remain spoiler free.

Well Shepards crew is full off reiniscance men/women/aliens/AIs who are good at many things. After all these are among the elite in the galaxy.

what he said.    there's nothing anywhere saying that he HASN'T  gotten training on the any of the systems. We may know quite a bit about his life, but we don't know where his initial training lies.

Or hell, maybe he's just a prodigy.  Some people just 'get' that sutff.

He WAS in the military.  We don't know what he was actually trained in there, what his job was.

That's true, Sia. I assumed he did some recon because of his reach and flexibility story, but now that I think about it he only mentioned that she was a recon scout. He could have easily had training that qualified him for calibrating the Normandy's weapons. Plus, the original Normandy had some Turian designs in it. It's possible that the weapons were one of the things the Turian engineers brought over.

EDIT: He could also be Recon as well as recieving "calibrations training," too. They're not necessarily mutually exclusive.

The Thanix cannons on the SR-2 were also turian-designed weapons, which Garrus acquired through contacts in the turian military (IIRC. I don't currently have a save that's post-loyalty but pre-upgrade to check). It's possible that he needed to know how to work them before anyone would let him have the designs – if they were shady contacts, they wouldn't want anyone to know they'd sold them, and if it was through legit channels they probably wouldn't give them to someone who had no idea how to use them.

The Normandy is a frigate. Shepard may not have worked on a dreadnought before, either, depending on background.

On another note – BioWare has been hacked. While so far only the NWN forums have been compromised, the hackers may decide to try something bigger next – namely, the BSN. I strongly suggest that you all change your passwords and pass the message around to those who might not have heard.

If your password here is the same as any other place where you log in via e-mail or with the same username and hackers steal your info, they could gain access to those accounts and wreak havoc with them – and if they get into your e-mail account, they can grab your account info on any site just by clicking 'forgot password'.

Better to be safe than sorry, right?

I assume you're talking about the hacking part?

Some hackers got into the old NWN forums and stole the users details. According to this post by a BioWare employee, those affected have been e-mailed, but it's always possible that the success of their previous attempt will encourage the hackers to try the BSN next.

That's because your language is set to 1337. :P To change that, click the box in the lower-right corner (above the EA stuff) and select English.

It happens to me, too, danny and I've also never changed it from English. I just delete them, though I'd be interested to know why I get them in the first place.
