 Here read the prequel first :P

you know if this fanfic was about double the length it is now i would read it over playing mass effect 3 because the plot and characters is so much better in this :D

Is the prequel the spirit of redemption? It has 89 chapters... :huh:

I'm bookmarking this, there's no way I'm going to have the time to read all this in a couple of days...

start with 'The Spirit of Truth' then read redemption

Hm. I don't like the female. Somebody already said she looks like a child... I agree. Dunno. Something's bothering me about it.

The only fem-turian concept I liked so far is this.

Hmm, makes me wonder; should the female turians have longer fringe or shorter? I prefer shorter *points at pic above*

I prefer shorter fringe for the ladies, wish I could find a link to the "Turian Ladies" thread that Cheez started a few months back because there were a lot of great concepts put up there. The one that Chewin shows above is one of my favourites. Given the role that females play in turian society (read: same as the guys) I doubt they look all that different. And given Garrus' comments about fringe and waist.. I imagine those are the two major contrast points, with fringe being shorter and waist being larger than males.

And if we go with the bird analogy.. the men would be the ones "showing off" when it comes to choosing a mate, with bright colours and fancier feathers (er, fringe in this case) while the females would be more drab in comparison.

 @leonia, please note that Turians are not birds. They may be similar, but they aren't birds. =]

I didn't say otherwise. I simply am using it as an analogy, given that they WERE designed around such an analogy. Just watch the video about creating Garrus and take note of the comments made by the artists on the turian design process.

Colorwise, turians kind of seem drab already.  It would be a nice switch if the females were the peacocks in this one.

Mostly, I'm curious over the whole waist thing.  My poor Shepard probably tossed her candy jar after that comment. Image IPB

I like how the waist comment leads to "Why does she need a strong waist.. oh." That expression was priceless. I think it's a compliment more than anything else :)

Yes, it is.  Shalizeh did several pieces for me and Misty, about E Tenebrea Et Lux and To Tame a Mercenary.

My fanboyish mind says that both turian tounges and turian fringes of both genders have a lot of reach.

I've seen that one before, Goat, not a fan of the long fringe but everything else looks pretty awesome. It's totally possible to design femTurians without boobs and lipstick.

Oh gosh - ive missed you guys Image IPB Been working so much these days.
And now playing me2....AGAIN.....on Insanity. My goodness......its so frustrating, i keep asking myself - "Why am i doing this!?" XD

Beejeebus, i need 3pgs to read! *goes back to read posts*
ok, Long post time! [btw @Arcian - U just took the record for biggest post XDDD]
@LadyOlivia: I read ur post about your dream Image IPB Thats utterly horrible. Id be in shock, or depression for awhile if I dreamt that. Sure, ok, people will say - "its a fictional character!" - but its a fictional character we care alot for.  *hug* Ive had ME related dreams....but i cant really remember any. Im one of those people who doesnt remember their dreams >_> Theres only RARE chances if i ever do. I do know ive had ME related dreams. I know Garrus was in one. He was driving one of those illuim cabs XP But idk any other details. Anyways - Dont let that dream get you down. Nihlus is alive! No matter what people say.

Obsydian wrote...
also. dead Nihlus is a terrilbly sad thing. also, like the cake, it is a lie.

^^^^ YEA! What Obsy said! A LIE!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hmmm on the topic of Shep influencing Garrus' personality to renegdae or paragon : Personally - I just want Garrus to generally come to his own decisions without having anymore doubt. He leans on Shepard alot with the whole "student mentor relationship", and we all KNOW he has the potential to be a great leader. I hope in ME3 we see his confidence take the huge leap that it needs. Take the experiences and "lessons" into consideration but dont let it utterly change him from renegade to paragon - let HIM decide. Though he's always been much more of a renegade kinda guy- but doing things with good intentions because he actually cares about the galaxy and other people. Garrus is the guy who beats up the bully picking on the little guy. Paragade? With a tad more renegade into the mix XP He has his own "style" of justice. Sure i dont exactly agree 100% with his decision to go to omega and just mindlessly take out mercs, but i respect it. And honestly - I wouldnt have expected Garrus to do anything else. Its so....."Garrus". ;P
So it other words - in me3 - Garrus is the full-fledged leader. An equal to Shepard. In past games, we've seen Garrus mature into a soldier, and at the same time trying to find himself. No more of that in ME3. I want Garrus to see and finally reach his full potential like Shepard has always believed he can, with his "style" intacted. Like he told Shep when she said she couldnt do it without him- "Sure you could. Not as stylishly of course.Image IPB"
Agreed. This is my constant image of what a femturian would look like. BUT then again, it could just go either way. Im fine with long fringes too! I've seen male turians in me2 with short fringes so who knows. Its possibly just a complimenting aspect/habit for males to comment on a female that way.Image IPB And yes - Turians arent birds. BUT they were very much inspired by them;P So the similarites are there. Vague, but theyre there. I always pegged male turians would actually "show off" fringes, so to speak. Kinda keeping up with maintaining them. Eh...."Grooming" could be the word im looking for. Similar to what peacocks do. Making sure theyre clean, smooth and sharp perhaps.
Insanity? Why would you put yourself through such things?
Might I recommend that you use miranda and mordin as your main squad, there powers complement each other very well, (Yes, it hurts not to have garrus in your squad all the time but the scarifice is worth it) also incinerate is a very useful power to have if you don't have it already, (one of the reasons mordin is so great) reave is also a pretty great power to have with you. I found insanity horrifyingly difficult right up to horizon, then it seemed to get a little easier, I don't know if anyone else had this experience though...
@BubbleSauce Arcana is doing it on insanity b/c he probably wants the 75 MP you get from completing it. Yeah, it's insane, but hang in there boy.
IMO Miranda and Garrus (lol) is the best team. Miranda has her warp that takes down barriers and armor very effectively, and Garrus is there with his overload ability to take down shields. And when enemys health is shown, you just use Concussive Shot that stuns the enemy for you to do the final blow. Plus, Garrus has his sniper which takes enemys health down very fast. One shot is all it needs, and garrus happens to be very precise with it. If you have the Mattock, it also helps a lot.
Arcana is a chick.
and i actually just started ME1 on insanity so that i can go through both like that. its not for acheivements or anything in my case... its cause i want to challenge myself.
and i hate Miri to the point where i would never use her. I want the challenge of doing it on insanity with my squad. Garrus and Thane. or Garrus and Mordin. (i do like my sniper boys though) furthermore, in ME2 I'll be doing it as an Adept. weeee! it'll be frustratingly fun!
I know that. I just used it as a, you know, when you use the term 'guys' when there are girls and yeah.
The only reason I did an insanity playthrough in ME1 was b/c of the nice Xbox avatar you get from it, but my Nihlus one is even cooler.B)
Adept playthrough? Know that's what I call insane.
MP? I'm guess that's achievement points or something? yeah, we don't get those on pc, in fact having bought the disk version I don't think I got any achievements other than the "medals" that Shepard can get in her quarters.
The main reason I use Miranda over Garrus on insanity (would never think of leaving Garrus behind under any other circumstances) is because the main thing I would be using either for is overload, however because I play an infiltrator, I don't get any biotic powers, and if I had Mordin and Garrus I would have no biotics what so ever, and I already have what makes Garrus strong on his own anyway. (sniping) So because Insanity more or less requires you to cover bases or die, plus warp is always pretty useful, so I, unfortunately, always find myself roped in with Miranda...
you said things.... they were probably important.
but....
but.
Nihlus avatar?
and yes. adept playthrough. figured... eh, what the hell. why not go all the way.
i can totally see where Miranda is a useful person to have in game... i just hate her. and i won't enjoy the game if i use her. *shrug*  personal preferences.
now that thats outta the way.... Nihlus avatar?
