You make very good points, most of which I agree with. One downside of me reading so much fan-fiction is that it's s very hard job separating canon and fanon.

omg me too.  i always have to go back and ask myself, "did that happen?"  lol.  

and regarding Papa Vakarian... I feel fairly certain that he cares about his son....   but there's different ways of showing it. i see him being one of those gruff sorta men who, instead of hugging his son, would cuff him on the shoulder if he was proud of him. or something.   
i can also see him being proud of Garrus whatever he did, so long as he was happy and successful.  it just may take him awhile to get used to it.

Ditto XP Ive read my huge fair share of FF. Some are obviously fiction that will never happen, yet sweet or downright angst. A small handful of others though are just so well written that they're actually VERY......what's a word.......convincing?


Oh dear - Remember that image i posted of Garrus & Mordin floating during Grunts recruitment. Did anyone have Garrus defying gravity in their playthrus? He did it again when recruiting Thane XD This time it was just Garrus. Is he trying to impress Shepard by being a rebel against gravity since he's not the only "suave" male alien on the normandy anymore? "Competition"? lol
I see Grunt as my crazy adopted lovechild, [i dont like how some people see him as a "pet"] and Mordin is just downright adorable [well actually he's handsome too ^_O]. I want to hug him.

And i think Garrus would be sweeter. Remember BW they mention how he "tastes".

Mesquite is pretty much grinded into a form of flour/powder, adding a sweet, nutty taste to breads, or used to make jelly or wine.
Garrus is a sweetheart. And he is LITERALLY sweet  It all fits!

Now, did anyone have Garrus running away from the fight? I mean literally leaving the area you're in...
It was on one of my ME1 runs on Feros. Suddenly Garrus just charged off beside me, run thrugh some guards at the entrance of the colony and disapeard somwhere in the dark corridors while I was left alone with waves of thorian husks   I was like "wait...where are you going...come back! Im getting eaten alive by crazy colonists!" He even disapeared from my map.He came back eventually...after I turned in the quests and was half way back to Normandy looking for his deserter ass  Oh, those fun times with Garrus

Also, I get Garrus to float quite a bit in Zakeera ward. IIRC, on the floor with C-Sec and the souvenir shop, across from those, there's a generic NPC turian standing around . If I go up and stand really close to him, usually Garrus jumps up and stands on his head or the air nearby. (I think the other squaddies do too, just... Garrus is usually with me to test that.)

I was doing that side mission the other day with the depowered mech you have to find batteries, and my Shepard shot up into the air. With every movement she started floating higher instead of going down or moving forward. When I turned her, I saw Garrus behind her. The answer is obvious; Garrrus' awesomeness allowed them to literally ascend to a higher plane of existence.

Who sees Grunt as a pet? He's totally Shepard's adopted kid!

RE: Chips: LOL. This has got to be one of Calibrations' weirder conversations. Mesquite wood is used for barbecuing. I say Garrus is a mesquite barbecue-flavor. Also, BBQing is a manly activity. And Garrus is manly. Or something.
Jacob would be a plain, lightly salted potato chip. Reliable choice, classic flavor, but lacking in spice.
