Prawn cocktail you mean? Yes, they are wonderful, haven't had them in ages though, for some reason I'd imagine Nihlus to prawn cocktail flavoured, you can't quite point out as to why, but you want them so badly... All right that sounded wrong...

Because every single one is likable in their own way, think about it, Nihlus is the mysterious spec ops agent with a troubled past who get separated from you so quickly that your just left wanting more, I mean if you think about it, if he hadn't of died, he most likely would have been shepard's mentor, like saren was for him, and screw sovereign, that would've been awesome. Then you have garrus, the experianced, but slightly naive cop whom with shepards guidance turns into a independent soldier, and a talented leader. Then there's lorik qui'in, who is... well just... freaking lorik qui'in! He's personally my favourite character in all of mass effect, and his suave sophisticated mannerisms out shined the fact that he's only important for roughly ten minutes, after that there's gavorn and, well, I won't go into why I like him so much.

Too name a few of course, so who's your favourite turian?

Garrus, followed closely by the "You Humans are all racist!" Turian. I liked him so much I stuck him in my story. 

Edit: Has it ever occurred to anyone how small FF.net makes your work looks. Staring at my own stuff on it (  ) I can't help but think "That does not look like 10+ pages."

thirded  by TECHNO TURIAN. (whos name always appears in my head in all caps) and the turian bartender. Both of them are sexy and awesome.

Really? I mean yes his story is tragic (Even though I say that the relay 314 incident was entirely the turian's fault) and I suppose he does redeem himself at the end when he kills himself (my gut always leaps at that point, having a character kill themselves is the most annoying way to redeem them, I wanted to see more of saren, but alas the bullet gets the final call on that one.

But all that aside, he shot nihlus in the head, I don't give two sh*ts if he was indoctrinated! If he's sane enough to kill himself he's sane enough to spare his best friend, or at least knock him out!

Oh well, here's hoping nihlus is as tough as zaeed... *crosses fingers*

oh Saren. I adore Saren. He's the unfortunate pawn that essentially started the entire war. His hatred for humans is fairly unparallelled .... but with damned good reason.
And really, though i do not in any way at all condone his actions and the way he goes about doing things... He really was a fantastic Spectre before indoctrination.


Yes. he shot Nihlus. for that I should want him dead 18 times over. But his story is terrible. I fully and completely believe that he did it at least 50% on his own volition.
Let me explain, and in doing so, I'll explain your second question too.

I don't care what the "real" canon is. My headcanon states that there was more than just a friendship between Nihlus and Saren. I believe they were closer than that. I believe that part of why Saren killed Nihlus is that he KNEW what was coming. He KNEW that the Reapers were coming and going to, effectively, take over the galaxy and that none would be left alive and unindoctrinated. Saren, I believe, had given himself over to that. I just don't think he could allow Nihlus to be indoctrinated. I think that he killed him so that he wouldn't have to watch him be a slave to the Reapers. So yes, I believe fully and completely that Saren knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he shot his friend, protege, and (in MY headcanon) lover in the head.

...... having said all of that.... know this. this is MY HEADCANON. There is really no evidence to support this in the game or any of the other media. I just want to believe it.

The only thing that I see that at all supports this theory in any way is the way that Saren touches him on the shoulder before shooting him,and the sadness in his voice before he does.

yup. Thats my story and I'll be damned if anyone will sway me on it.


also. as for AWESOME turians... how about urinal turian and his badass facial tattoo.

Thats funny i always believed something a bit similar. Being that Saren killed Nihilus because he knew he could never convince him to fallow his plan and liked himm to much to have him simply indoctrinated and wondering around as a husk. Killing him might have been the best thing to do in Saren twisted mind.

sh*t Obsydian, I never did once think of it like that, I personally don't think that he has a right to hate humans as much as he does, he had absolutely no right to keep Anderson out of the spectres, then again, I don't have much of a right to tell a man guided by grief that what he's doing is completely wrong, I mean he was still guided by some kind of moral compass I suppose.

But in all honesty, to think that saren actually cared for him that much, that he was willing to sacrifice his best friend, and well... lover, so that he'd suffer a lesser fate to what he himself was subjected to, it's just...

d'awww..  um, sorry?  i didn't mean to make you feel like an arse. lol.  

i mean, like i said, its just my headcanon... but i've done quite a bit of thinking (and writing, drawing, dreaming)  about this... because i am a dork....  
and i can see it. and it really is just painful to think about, huh.   i really really think that Saren is capable of that depth of emotion, and i think that he's the sort to let his emotions completely rule over his common sense and anything else in that case. 

I think... as far as his hatred for humans...  think about the way that humanity tends to react towards anything new?  we poke it, prod it, dissect it, and then nuke it from orbit.  seriously.  did you see District 9?  I fully believe that is exactly what we would do when faced with an alien race. we would torture it horribly to figure out how it works. 
Then figure out how our species could profit ffrom it.   cause we're horrible like that. *shrug*  but each to their own really.  hell, I hate humans.  LIke I seriously hate 95 percent fo all humanity and live on the belief that at least half of our species is completely useless. 
But i'm a cynic. *shrug*   
and this is why i love the turian race so much. this is why i'm a xenophile. *shrug*
