Huh, Arcana sure keeps on impressing me on her knowledge on Garrus. You sure take up good points girl.

About the Arkis arwork, yeah the fringe is shorter but what I recognized was that he looks much more 'brownish'. Hohoh, Garrus got tan.

As for the FemShep art . . . am I the only one that likes the 1st one? I mean, the blonde is hot and all and I really like her hear style, but I just really find the 1st one attracive (in a military sort of way). If she looks good in game, I might just get a hair cut for my FemShep.

EDIT: Oh TotP, long time no see. Here's one of my favourites by AgataFoxxx

i really like the winona rider shepard who is first. the short hair works for me. not a fan of blondes, really. and short hair fits the military better. and i have short hair, so i'm biased. :D
and... she looks like winona rider, and thats hot.

I like the style of 5, but I miss the red hair. :(

Back on topic - I'm currently working on a Garrus pic. My question here is, do people prefer to wait til the pic's done before seeing it, or do people like to see work in progress shots?

I personally like to see a picture as it's worked on but it really depends on whether you want people to see it before it's finished. You are the one doing it after all :)

@Skits: Well, if you're able to livestream artworks, lots of folks would be keen to watch (I would!) It's always fun to see how every artist approaches their craft plus it gives a stronger appreciation for the creation process and gives the final product that extra "wow" factor. It will also make me super jealous that everyone is more talented at fanart than myself, but that's not a bad thing! Work in progress pics are good too.

As for the hairstyles, I'm hoping one of the more practical and military-friendly styles/colour combinations wins. The blonde just isn't doing it for me, but that's probably because blonde hair rarely looks right in any Bioware game. My votes went to the redhead (support your gingers!) and the darker skinned number 4 (not a fan of the hair, but overall she had a very cool look). Number 1 is probably my third favourite.

@Frost: Hehe, that's why I'm asking - I can't decide either way. XD; It's kinda between the "oh wow!" factor of a finished piece, or the potential feedback during the WIP process. I'm indecisive, hehehe.

@leonia: I've considered Livestreaming now and then, but I don't know how well it'd work atm, aheh. Partly timezones - I'm Australian and keep weird hours to boot, but also 'cause I tend to work in short bursts 'cause I keep getting distracted by shiny things. Like forums. ;)

I think it'd be fun to see the WIP, I generally tend to appreciate art more if I can see the design process behind it.

Yea I mean - really. Everyone would say one option or the other in the spur of the moment. But honestly - What do we really know about the situation? Nothing. I brought up both sides to the dilemma because thats just how I see it. And agreed, I really am interested to see how Garrus would react to such things. Im still curious as heck to see his reaction to Shepards actions in Arrival. Not just about the whole "killing a star cluster of batarians" part, but she was gone without any word from her for 2 DAYS. If my lover went on a SOLO mission into batarian space, and didnt return or send any form of communication in 2 days - I'd be freaking out. I half expected Garrus to come kicking down doors to save me in that facility XD [unfortunately....none of that happened.]  And lol Ive been getting alot of love this pass week ^_^ Love ya too! Helps me smile over my lame doctor appointments.

Well it's fairly safe to say that the moral implecations are all over the spectrum, if the race is a massive clump of husk like creatures, then there is absolutely no chance in hell that I'm sacrificing garrus, jack or whoever my gay love interest is in mass effect 3, just to save a race whom are technically already dead. As for indoctrination, well, I don't believe that the reapers are deus ex machinas, I beleive that something organic did create them, maybe it's like a battlestar galactica where the machine race revolted against their creaters, we just don't know, but I definitely do not think that a machine race could just come into existence by the course of natural occurence like organic beings do, ok, now I'm literally babbling, my point is that if we look at the reapers as anything other than gods, that means that their power of indoctrination, is a technology, and that means, that we can discover exactly how it works, and if we can do that, I believe it's possible to reverse it. So morally, indoctrination is kind of a slippery slope, I don't think it's entirely safe to say that we would pick either for certain when faced with that decision in terms of an indoctrinated race. (Although how the reapers would manage to indoctrinate an entire space faring race is beyond me, that's why I refuse to accept indoctrination as a reason for why cerberus is after shepard) Then finally we just have the choice, race or LI, and I'm sorry but in this instance, how could you pick the LI? Doesn't anyone else think that's eternally selfish, and I know shepard deserves to have someone who cares for her/him, but for the love of god, is it really worth it? This is one life over the lives of billions, who would honestly say that they would not die to save the lives of that many people?

again:   so ... did anyone else see this picture that Louvette did?   btw. she's amazing and has some HOT Bioware stuff. (Thane, Fenris OMGTHEFENRIS)

.... and now, Garrus.  her take is different then most.  and i rather like it. :D

*snip*

Hm, I don't know, the first picture kind of makes garrus look a little feminine, the WIP is good, however the plates on the face should be a little bit more defined if you ask me, they look awfully smooth in that picture.

I flicked through some of Louvette's other work and I'm a big fan of her alistair if you know what I mean ;)

Does anyone else think that they all look a little bit young? Oh well, maybe it's just me, I thought femshep looked awfully short when I first played as her though, maybe it's just the fact that she was standing next to Nihlus in the first scene though.

But yeah, I agree with the general consensus, the blond one is the best imo.

Skits wrote...

Oh man THIS. I so want to know the reactions of Garrus AND the rest of the crew to the whole Arrival thing - both the exploding the relay/killing all those batarians and the whole "missing for 2-3 DAYS with no contact" thing.

I dunno if Garrus would go so far as freaking out - he's been with Shepard for two trips into hell and back again, he knows she can take care of herself. But he would most definitely be worried, very worried. I could see him spending a lot of time with Tali, pacing around on the engineering deck as he and Tali try to keep each other reassured.

I wouldn't say garrus would freak out no, I think reaction toward the death of the batarians would ultimately depend on shepard's, all of my shepards are paragon, so I like to think that they all had their own little break down afterwards on the normandy, I quite like the idea of garrus comforting my femshep when she's crying, sick to the stomach at what she had to do. My straight male shep would try to cover it up of course, jack has been through a lot already, she really doesn't need to see the one reliable person she has in her life break down in front of her and my bisexual male shep would probably have a better time hiding it than my others would, he's pretty used to bottling feelings up and hiding them away if you know what I mean.

I think garrus has a very strong moral compass though, he would have to recognise that this did effect shepard a lot before he could form an opinion himself, but he's always been the renegade that really wants to help people, I think he would understand more than anyone on the crew, garrus is a very close friend to all of my shepards, and a lover to one. (and hopfully a soon-to-be lover to another, but we'll have to see if bioware goes with that one) ;)

Phew, that's me finished, that's what I get for missing a day's worth of posting huh?

Damn, this is gonna be a b*tch and a half to proof read...

@Skits: I love to see art thats a WIP. I really dont mind seeing them ^_^ Like frostcub said - It really depends on you whether you want to show it ;P

I love all the sheps. And apparently Casey hasnt forgotten the classIC default Shep and customization too.
-CaseyDHudsonCasey Hudson
In addition to choosing the new default #femshep you can also choose the old one or create your own customized look. #ME3
-CaseyDHudsonCasey Hudson
Yes, you will be able to tweak your imported #ME2 character in #ME3.

Yea, SOMETHING had to have made the Reapers. They can't be like gods. You cant "kill" a god but a Reaper yes. Something...or someone created them. Or really - to be more accurate : Someone created Harbinger and a few others? From there he mustve created the others since they clearly know how to make more of themselves. Whatever created them, or in the sense gave them influence, all we have to go on is the reaper appearance. Reapers take shape to what genetic code they are being "fueled" by or are "awoken with". Much like how the larva took the shape of a human because of the human dna being pumped into it according to EDI's findings. Also, Im starting to have the impression that when the reapers die, the effects of their indoctrination could wear off? Hmm its an interesting discusssion.

Darn them turians and their misleading heights Image IPB Though in me2, Garrus isnt THAT much taller than Shepard. Possibly Nihlus was taller than Garrus? Could very well be a possibility since he was older.

When I said "freaking out", I guess I shouldve specified XP I meant what Skits said. Pacing around the normandy and such. heh. About Garrus comforting Shepard after all the chaos on the normandy - I actually wrote out a small scene about that ^_^ I really do think that happened, even if we dont see it or is implied. It just seems obvious that the LI would want to be with Shepard at that time. Of anyone on the crew - I agree with ya that Garrus would be the only one to TRULY understand. Yes, others would understand too, but not on the same deep and emotional level as him. He's witnessed Shepard do tough decisions that could easily brake her, like deciding who to save on Virmire. Now again she has more blood on her hands. And for a colonist or sole surivor Shepard, its just as hard. He's been with her long enough to understand.

yea - thats right. I read thru the whole post XP *crazy clan dork* heh.Image IPB

... What? I'm whistling at Garrus! Geez. XD Though those are some mighty fine funnybumps ladies. :innocent:

Okay, I've decided to try the whole WIP-shots and livestream thing, just to see how it goes. XD Here's what I've got so far, and I'm currently livestreaming while I do the linework for the Mantis, if anyone's interested in watching my haphazard, screenshot-reference-filled process. XD Adventure and pedantic detail ahoy!

Image IPB

Still not sure what I'm gonna do colour-wise - whether I'm gonna cel-shade or paint over the top or what. DECISIONS DECISIONS augh. D:

In a twisted clump of semi-irritating irony, after making that stupidly long post, I'm now left away from my desktop for the next 2 days, and can only access this site through my iPod, and since the quote function does not work on IOS, I guess it's time for me to get acquainted with my old friend the @ key...

@skits Dawww, he looks sad, did something happen to he him or is he just feeling a little melodramatic?

@Leonia42 I can't acctually see that picture, it isn't displaying for me, could someone post a link?

@ArcanaLegacy

"Darn them turians and their misleading heights  Though in me2, Garrus isnt THAT much taller than Shepard. Possibly Nihlus was taller than Garrus? Could very well be a possibility since he was older."

Argh, I'm so curious to know more about nihlus! Why did bioware have to kill him off so quickly? If you wanted to use him purely as a plot device then you shouldn't have given us more information about him, you seriously expect a bioware community to not grow a random attachment to minor characters?! You created this monster bioware! Now you have to fight it! With, er... The sword of poly textures and the er, shield of rehiring the voice actor...

Hee, thanks Bubble! I'm glad his mood came across decently. Yeah, he has Teh Sad - this is in his base on Omega just after his squad got killed and before the merc groups started attacking. At this point, I reckon he hasn't quite yet figured out that Sidonis was responsible for the mess, he's just bummed that all his crew are dead. The calm just before the ****storm, as Joker would say. I was originally considering using an angle that'd have a bodybag or two in the background, but augh. D:

Completely randomly, something I was thinking of in the shower just now - does it rain at all on Palaven? Or is rain rare enough that turians generally don't take it into account? 'Cause the collars of turian clothes/armour that we've seen aren't exactly designed with drainage in mind. XD Garrus prob'ly hated Pragia for more reasons than the Cerberus base if you took him down there, hehe.

Leonia, the link isn't working, lol, just post it through image shack and hyperlink in the URL into text, it looks like you've just taking the file position from widows explorer and posted it with a hyperlink.

Fun fact, because apple provides the best possible browsing service around, the autocorrect keeps changing leonia's name to Kronos, part of the first generation of Titans in greek mythology, and the father of Zues, Poseidon and Hades, so well done apple... -.-

 Ahahaha "Reapers!" "WHERE?!

And now for something random! I was thinking about a totally serious scene just after Arrival where Garrus is bringing Shep dinner in her quarters, which is supposed to lead to a Deep and Meaningful, and... this conversation and an accompanying mental image popped into my head and refused to leave. So instead of going to bed at a reasonable time before donating blood tomorrow morning, I had to purge the mental image by drawing it. Sigh.

"Hey, Garrus?"

"Yeah?"

“How the hell did you manage to knock on my door while balancing two plates almost overflowing with food without dropping anything?”

“Sheer style.” Garrus grinned toothily at her.

Shepard rolled her eyes, though she couldn’t help but grin back. “You kicked my damn door, didn’t you.”

“I kicked your damn door.”

Image IPB

I swear this was not just an excuse to draw Garrus in a black muscle shirt. Honest. And yes, he took off his scouter. Anatomy loosely based on the Bioware turian concept art, because I'm too lazy to figure out my own for a quick crack pic. XD

Also, I <3 turian toes. Heeheehee toes.
