When it was actually proven to be Shep, Garrus was still too tired to really make a big deal about it, AND too focused on the whole "getting out of here alive" issue. So he just put the Shep-resurrection thing aside for the time being... then he got hit by gunship, and the issue just never really came up again.
Though, this is based on my belief that, at this point in time, there wasn't anything more than friendship between Shep and Garrus, even subconsciously. Sure, even then Garrus had a lot of respect for Shep, but they were just friends, comrades-in-arms, nothing more than that. To my mind at least, the deeper feelings didn't start developing til after the recruitment mission. Shep had just saved Garrus from every merc in existence ever, and Garrus was the first familiar and reliable face Shep had to look after her six on the field after her resurrection.
Speaking of that mission, incidentally, I love Garrus' animation when he's getting up before he takes off his helmet. His movements are just so damn exhausted - you can SEE how tired he is. He has to use his sniper rifle just to get up. Normally I can't see him abusing his rifle like that. But Garrus being Garrus, he's also trying to hide how tired he is by being... well, stylish. XD

@ Lady Olivia: Read your fic there, nice! Well-written.
In the meantime, here, have a pic! Finally finished the bloody thing, for now anyway. Handcramp, argh. Still not entirely happy with it, but oh well. If I look at it any longer right now I'll probably stab myself in the eye with my wacom pen or something.

And Skits, you'll stab yourself in the eye with a wacom pen? And you wonder why Chewin finds you scary?
Great picture though, It came out really well in the end, I quite like the way you draw Garrus, his plates and skin seem to have a similar texture and colour in all of your pictures.

Anyway, that's one heck of a nice pic you got there. And Bubble is right, the colour of his armor ends up really good. Quick question, what is he holding in his hands? I can't really make out what it is.

I agree 100% and I've tried to show this in my fic. Though... Meghan being the idiot she is, misunderstands a lot of Garrus' mannerisms.

I have a thought. Has anyone ever wondered what Garrus was thinking during the mission when you had to recruit Archangel? I mean, was he thinking "Hey, it's Shepard! Hurray!" or something more emotional?
This whole thing but imma add to it. IMO *referring to underlined* BLASPHEMY! >:3 He did actually "think much", even exhausted to the brink of no return. Its paritcularly shown when you pick the renegade "Is that you, Garrus?" option in greeting him ironically. The way he say he's happy to see Shep says it all. He's even smiling. Oddly enough he doesnt show this "smile" when you chose the happy "Its good to see you." option. The gleam in his eye. He's happy. Just....he has no energy WHATSOEVER to even express it. Plus on the side of his mind - yes, he kept the merc gangbang & surviving aspects occupying. The whole scene is one of those - "I wish we had this reunion under better circumstances" moments XPSkits wrote...

And the whole thing about the feelings being there "already" - thats up for debate. I personally think his feelings for her were in fact DEEP - but not on a romantic level, even though I'd like to think that at times. Hey i can dream cant i? Anyways I got the "very close friend vibe" at the start. His tone of voice, and body language told me that. & Garrus wouldnt just hand ANYONE his rifle XP heh.
I agree that after the recruitment, the feelings developed more. He joked around with her, gave her reassuring looks [ e.g. "You do realize this plan has me walking into hell too? Ha, just like old times."] Just that body language and the look of trust written on his face. Awesome. And realize the FIRST thing he practically says to shepard onboard the normandy is that no one would give him a mirror! XDDD And depending on gender - he jokes more either way. [FemShep] Claiming women find facial scars attractive......which i so do<3 And practically calling MShep ugly. Now with his scars, the ladies possibly pay more attention to shepard. XD which isnt true, the scars made me MORE attentive to garrus.....

OH MY GAWD YESSSHHHH!! Majority of my friends dont even see that in the slightest way! How could you not!? Seriously! Just about every sentence Garrus forms is him practically out of breath. If you listen closely, you'll DEFINITELY notice it. And him getting up by putting his own weight leaning on that rifle broke my heart on my 1st playthru so BADLY. Actually scratch that - it still does on every playthru. Heck - he needs to take a seat during the reunion 1- to try and even remotely get a breather, and 2- possibly get over the shock Shepard is standing in front of him alive XD Though i wish he gave me a hug, i understand he was just soo.......BLAH. He was slouching of how tired he was. Normally he sits up right like in ME1 for example. Not to mention he had his rifle down next to him. Looked like he hardly had much a grip on that thing. But i have no problem with him sitting down because he brought about the most badass & extremely sexiest sitting position ever conceived by man.
btw - skits did i ever tell ya that i love ya? no? ok i love ya. just keep the pointy objects away.XD [this coming from someone with over 6 blades/shuriken in her room. Irony.]

I figure Garrus' scouter is holographical, like the omnitools. Speaking of Garrus' scouter though... how the hell does it actually STAY ON? Judging by what we see in-game, it's not from contact pressure - it doesn't even touch his head till somewhere at or past the end of his side-fringes. So does he have some sorta graft on the back of his head that it attaches to? Does it have some sort of adhesive, like a giant post-it note? Is it permanently attached and embedded in his BRAIN? (It'd explain why he doesn't take it off during the romance scene, at least!) Does turian skin have enough metal content that it stays on via magnets? Whatever method it uses keeps it pretty solidly in place - even getting hit by gunship rocket didn't budge it an inch. Or do we just assume it IS held on by contact pressure and handwave the game model as not being entirely accurate? XD Though if it WAS kept on via contact pressure, it'd move everytime Garrus moved his eyebrow plate. That could get disconcerting and possibly even nauseating. XD
And yay, Arcana love!
Haha, I admit, the one time I picked the renegade "Is that you, Garrus?" option his reply made me feel all sorts of guilty for some reason, though I can't remember why now, so I've never picked it again. I might have to go replay that bit again just to see what you mean - I probably missed or misinterpreted something there.
And yeah, no doubt Garrus was happy to see Shepard again, for whatever reason. Even if it's just Shep showing up in time to help save his ass.
Incidentally! Speaking of bodybags, does anyone else remember Garrus' ME1 line "Bag 'em and tag 'em" that he'd sometimes say when combat ended? If so, does anyone else think he stopped using that particular line because he had to "bag and tag" his team mates? That idea always makes me sadface, though I do love it as character development. Or I may just be over-thinking things again. XD
On whether or not the feelings were there already, yeah, that's totally up for debate and personal interpretation and wishful thinking/dreaming.
Speaking of dumping Garrus at that final scene (which I've never actually done myself, hooray for youtube vids!), has anyone else noticed that instead of him saying his usual "I'll be here IF you need me", he instead says "I'll be here WHEN you need me"? Does anyone else find that significant?
Anyway, back on topic, I just personally don't much like the idea of there being even subconscious romantic leanings before Omega. To me, the relationship between Shep and Garrus during the Saren hunt was too unequal to really foster that sort of attachment. They don't much act as equals - don't really even CONSIDER each other as equals - until Omega. Trust? Hell yes. Friendship? Definitely. But anything beyond that, not until after Omega. And only once they see each other as equals does the deeper/posible romantic interest even start. But that's just my take on it, heh. Don't even get me started on the rest of the Shep/Garrus romance in general, I'd be here all night. XD
And yeah, Garrus' visible and audible exhaustion on Omega always gets me too. Then he gets shot and I'm all "noooooooo" yet again, heh. Man, the way he tries to clutch his rifle when he wakes up and that horrible-sounding lung gurgle... aaaugh.
Heh, you know your posts are getting too long when you use Notepad to write 'em so you can easily read over what you've got already. x_x

First, to answer your question, Skits.... work and life are taking over a bit at the moment. My boy just got back from Afghanistan... and we're having some serious issues. Plus work is a pain in the arse. I'm manager of a store and it means that I work far too much.
I still drop by here every once in awhile, but its rare that I have time to actually read and get involved with stuff.
I don't think that Garrus' visor is holographic.... just the way its rendered.... it looks like a solid bit of something clear that has the info projected onto it. but... i dunno. tech in that game is strange. Also, i've been wondering how it stays on his head forever. i got nothin on that one.
lastly... i like to believe that there was some attraction for Shep and Garrus in the first game. But my canon Shep was mourning Nihlus through the entire first game, so .... uh, that puts a bit of a damper on that. but yeah. i do like to see that there's maybe a little more there... even if neither of them recognize it for what it is.
yeah.
also... this. from Nyhgault.

Hey, Arcana is back *waves hand all excitedly* and with a long post as usual. Yup, that's the Arcana we love.
*waves hand all excitedly back* And yes i be sorta back with my extended posts. I'll try to keep concise XD Thoughts in dicussions get the better of me. derp.
Garrus' visor topic:
-Think like the Dragonball Z anime in a way XD IMO I think its...how can i put this.... think in the way like a small portable datapad? Except in blue? They both seem to project in the same way with the data scrolling and blinking, but Garrus' could very well be reinforced so it wouldnt be fragile. Realize he took a rocket to his face and rolled onto the floor with such an impact that its still perfectly intact. If it were holographic, it would be somewhat blurry and nonelligble in combat due to constant movement.
-As for HOW its latched onto his head - I can definitely give an accurate answer for that. Among my ME friends, i somewhat have a "fetish" with his visor. I just think its so badass, I ADORE blue and it doesnt help that i've always wanted one. Plus we never see him w/o it off so I used to fiddle ALOT with my camera and get a view behind his head. Its bolted on by 9 small bolts/nails...whatever you wanna call them. 3 on the top, and 6 down his neck. Garrus has a hard exoskeleton, so I think it wouldnt bother him or cause discomfort by some small bolts mildly embedded onto a plate. Though whats weird is that he has part of the frame going partially down his neck to a point. Im here thinking that would be uncomfortable if he suddenly threw his head back but its Garrus - he wouldnt do that to himself if he knew it would be troublesome in regards to his own equipment. I actually have an image SOMEWHERE on it up close......*rummages thru scrnshot folder*
Found it!

Yea, looks like clipping issues at the end down the back, but it does lead to a single point. Ive seen it a few times.
......what? I like to analyze every aspect of my fav turian! Dont give me them looks! *runs away*
@Obsy: PM me when u can. You owe me an update buddy. *hug* And ditto on what Bubble said. Hooray for "random, nonsensical bollocks"!

And YESH update me. I worry for ya. *hug*
BTW Im replaying ME1 again for old times sake. Making a new alternate canon femshep. I always save Ash on virmire, so im making one for saving Kaiden this time. Plus I have unfinished business with a certain asari on virmire......one i BADLY wanted to shoot on okeers mission in me2 but had no option for it. If i must go back in time to take care of her - so be it. And I brought up this me1 topic because during my playthru, ive been running into ALOT of hilarious moments where the characters are glitched in a way. One particular moment during Liara's rescue got me laughing. Involves Garrus and it further proves he really IS a gentleman.....
I took a screenshot and made this M.poster for the lulz to show you guys.

Dawww Garrus....
