 Oh yeah if you didn't already know

Fan artist Patryk Olejniczak, or Patryk Garrett on deviantart, was interviewed in the final livestream for Mass Effect. He showed off his last piece as a fan artist before he joins the team at Bioware as an artist for the marketing department.

So most likely what you're looking at there is the defualt FemShep :)

EDIT: TOTP

^^ Yep yep!
I saw the interview couple hours ago. He's so modest and sweet :3 He showcased Legion. Its not up on DA yet. He said he'd post it once he came back from PAX. Im so happy he got hired ^______^ EVERYONE loves his art. He takes pride in his Kasumi piece. I think its like his baby. heh. And I found it hilarious how Silverman was spazzing of how much he loved his art too.

And yes - thats default FemShep. Though Im VERY glad that all the hairstyles from the contest are going to be in the game, plus more apparently. They keep saying how they adding ALOT of hairstyles and such to the FemShep CC. Im quite intrigued. I was a fan of like 3 of the styles they showcased in the contest [3, 5 and i forgot the other]. Bring on the experimentations to my character! Muah hahahahahaha! I see myself spending like another 1-3hrs on my character XP

Serena Shepard: [my femshep's name] - *looks at Arc* ...."Experimentations"?.......Image IPB
....Hopefully Garrus will recognize me in the end.
Arc: Oh.....he will. And he'll faint from ur badass sexiness! Image IPB

Danny! TOTPG!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
......How does Garrus do it?! Everytime he's onscreen my attention just snaps automatically to him til his offscreen again. Its like a spell or something! XD Im watching the PAX footage and even though its the same thing we saw at E3 and Comic Con, I cant stop looking at how amazing Garrus looks. That armor has grown on me indefinitely.Image IPB
edit: This made me chuckle abit XD
and theres some more in his gallery. I wonder if its one person doing all those accountsImage IPB
Killing Balak is the right thing to do. You're not a saint, and you can't save everyone. Someone is Shepard shoes should know this and deal with the consequences no matter how hard the choice might be. And as already said earlier, you can't possible expect Balak just to start thinking that he won't do the same thing again, that's just simple minded thinking IMO. Who knows what he would come up next time? Maybe he does something worse, like pissing of Udina, and that would certainly be an outrage wouldn' it.
Though I've never played Bring Down the Sky. Wasted my money on the ME2 DLCs, 'cause I bought ME1 & 2 at the same time. And I do have enough MP to buy it but still wouldn't, b/c as Arcana said, it's not really a big deal. We'll probably just get a cameo of him in ME3. But if I would buy BDtS, I would let Balak go and save the hostages. 'Cause I'm pretty sure Balak went to the Bahak system in ME2. hehehehehehehehe
Well you can't really compare Batman into this kind of situation. His code isn't not just to save innocent instead of getting the bad guy, it's that he won't kill anyone. That's his real code. I remember once in a comic where this bad guy killed Robin (I think it was Dick Greyson) and Batman got extremely furious and was just about to kill the murderer, but was stoped by Alfred (I think), and when Batman came to senses, he said that if he had killed the bad guy he would have lost the most importat thing in being the Batman.
--------------------------------------------------------------
That artwork of FemShep is really a nice one, but not Patryk at his best. He probably didn't have much time to do it b/c of how quickly it got announced and had to get it ready for PAX. But still good, no complains for me. Kinda mad that I can't play that FemShep in 1 & 2. Guess I'm gonna be playing a default FemShep before I import my Garrus/FemShep one.
And as for the Facebook thing, poor Ashely. She gets picked all the time. But she'll get all the loving from my MaleShep in ME3, just you wait. But little concerned how it'll turn out. I just hope that I don't have to choose between Ash and Garrus. It'll be like the Virmire situation, but worse. far far more worse. It'll either be bromance or romance. Not sure at all about this. Some kind of confrontaion it'll definitly be.
@Bubble:
True its foolish to let the guy go, but keep in mind he's pretty much no threat in the sense he's DLC. Now b4 ppl play the "just because its DLC doesnt make it not important" card - keep in mind it makes a difference since its ME1 DLC. 50% of ppl wont even have Balak alive in their game [Heres looking at you ps3 owners]. They cant decide DLC decisions in that lil comic. So he's pretty much doesnt exist. Think how many ppl wont get access to that content? Making a new Shep in ps3 ME2 - no balak. New Shep in ME3 - no balak. Shep in ME1 and killed him - no balak for rest of series. And obviously not everyone payed BDTS. I have loads of friends for example that didnt bother paying the dlc [which i instructed them to do so!]. I let him go to see what happens if he's around since the rest of the series tends to dismiss his existence. *rebel at heart* If anything he'll just have a cameo. This whole "Batarian Rebellion" is gonna be like the krogan rebellions again, especially now that Shep just killed a whole system of them >.>; I bet theres just gonna be some random batarian bad guy we have to kill, but if the player let balak go - he'll be the random person we kill. The simple switch like with what happened with Wrex. One cameo. Done.
What? You looked at the situation from the stance of a metagamer? *sigh* Making descisions that way breaks the entire universe for me, it's why I like the council and think that people who say they are stupid because they can't see the entire universe through the players eyes are morons who need to be slapped... with a brick... what? I grew in northern ireland...
But seriously, in the words of the amazing yahtzee: "It is a role playing game, so lets mother f*cking ROLE PLAY!!"
 Quick question for you folks:
For LotSB, do you have to do the mission after the SM to get Liara's dialog about romancing Garrus? (I certainly don't want to miss that!)
I can assure you it wouldn't happen, kaiden and ashley were on the mutual ground of being the main love interests in me1, what relation do garrus and ashley have exactly, sorry, I can't see it happening, it'd be more likely to be a choice between garrus and tali, which would be absolutely hilarious!
I'd pick garrus over anyone really, no one else's story really grips me as much as his does, he's been through so much compared to the others, the only other one that I can really think of that compares to garrus is jack, (who is actually another one of my favourite characters weirdly enough) not that that, in any way would facilitate the notion that garrus has any more of a right to live than ashley, but even still, I would pick garrus for that reason.
What the heck is metagaming? *uses google powers*
Ohhhhhhhhh. Nah I made that decisions BEFORE i knew anything. In my canon i did the save and that was before ME2 was even available for the ps3. When it was, i still havent done any research on that version. What for? I just realized the connection on my own. Thought it was plain logic. So thats what metagaming is? Thats freaking spoilers! Why would anyone do that? O.o It defeats the whole purpose of playing the dam games!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About ashley - I know right!? Ive seen Ash get alot of hate on the interwebs. I acutally loved her character alot. Im still not too happy they transformed her into looking like a "Miranda clone", but ah well - what can ya do right? >.>;

HA! That wouldve been very ironic XD You have a devious mind, Chewin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Im somewhat very erked right now. My manager texted me awhile ago saying he was CURRENTLY watching the FIRST 15 minutes of ME3! Literally the intro! [not lil earth demo, before that!] All store managers go once a year to a "E3-like" convention exclusive to GameStop.
Of course i dont want to know anything [ok - i do, but when i have the game in my hands in march] but Bioware shows off this stuff to a good majority of ppl who dont care about ME, and not the fans worldwide? PLUS they gave away the freaking replica of the N7 assault rifle! BLASPHEMY!
For example - My manager is a BIG gamer, but he doesnt care about Mass effect. Ive tried to get him to play it, but he hasnt yet. And ironic because he KNOWS how popular it is. Now that he saw that video at the convention, all he said was "Wow" because he was speechless. heh. Imma slap him when he gets back and say "I told ya its awesome! You gonna play it NOW or what!?"
grrrr. I feel insulted by Bioware.
No offence arcana, but you really need to proof read your posts, I have no idea what you just said in the first part of that post.
Also, um what? First fifteen minutes of mass effect 3? Ok, so your telling me, that bioware has shown the first fifteen minutes of a game that's due out 8 months from now, too a bunch of store managers and not to games journalists? And not only that, but they showed it at a tiny convention comprised of gamestop employees, when they could have shown it at PAX prime, which is going on right now, and get much more publicity for their game and booth? And what's more, I read gamesradar, rock paper shotgun, destructoid, the escapist and a couple of other gaming blogs, why haven't any of these publications picked up on what is basically the beginning of (based on mass effect 2's success) what is quite likely going to be the game of the year in 2012?
Arcana, I think you have just been successfully trolled.
Trolled? Not really. This convention happens every year and he sent me pictures of the dam replica assault rifle to tease me. In the past, Ive asked him about the things he saw and he would describe exactly what he saw. Next thing I know, i get the certain game and what he told me had happened.
Its stupid for them to do this i know. But who am to judge. Maybe in the coming weeks they'll start showing the footage to journalists. I get the feeling they showed the earth demo, but he told me it wasnt a "demo" - literally the 1st 15 minutes. So.....yea :/
[editing this in] I quote this conversation:
Alex: "Hey Im watching the first 15 mins of mass effect 3!.......Just....Wow!"
Me: "Oh thats no news to me. I saw the demo at E3. Its awesome! And stop teasing me u bastard."
Alex: "No demo, ACTUAL first 15 mins of the game. We couldn't take pics or video so I couldnt show u :/ They are giving away a gun replica that you get in game for preorder." *sends a pic of some gamestop guy with N7 rifle*
Me: " Wait what!? I hate you. Tell me what u saw when you get back this week! I also saw how that gun was made!
BTW, steal that replica for me!"
Alex: ";D"
As for the 1st part of my post - i was referring to how metagaming is pretty much someone researching a game or using some outside source to help them make a decision in-game. I did no such thing with BDTS. Heck - i dont meta game at all for that matter.
Huh, It must have been the earth demo, bioware is a subsidiary of EA and EA is not exactly on good terms with gamestop after the origin debacle. I doubt EA would commission any new footage, and show it to managers with no influence over the industry, let alone, gamestop managers instead of games journalists.
Even still, I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions
Gamestop were going to remove the old republic from their store shelves becuase you have to have origin installed to run it, I think they reconsidered though. It's been happening in brick and mortar game retailers for years, it started off with steam, then origin and now there's the case of gamestop removing the onlive codes in deus ex human revolution.
Thanks a f*cking lot for that one gamestop, last time a buy product from you. Oh, $50 coupon, any chance of getting that in the UK? No? Well screw you to gamestop.
@ bubble : nah dont be sry. its perfectly understandable! heck - i was jumping to conclusions as well when he texted me. it honestly makes no sense to me. the only thing BW has showm thats even CLOSE to the beginning is that earth demo. i guess we'll find out when i interrogate him ;P
As for that lil "situation" - i am 100% with you on that. i was on the job when i got the news and i had to pull out the game from the shelves and everything. Seriously wtf was gamestop headquarters thinking?! .....oh wait. they werent. BUT then there's also Square-enix's fault for putting stuff in the game w/o telling gamestop. But while this was on triggered by something silly, I still think GameStop went over the line. Lightyears over it.
Oh gawd - me and a friend had this huge debate on whose the better squadmate. He was actually comparing Garrus to people like Miranda, & the VS. He even threw in Tali.  I LOVE Tali and respect her like a sister. But her loyalities can seem abit....off at times. The way she reacts if you choose Legions side in the argument isnt a nice one. Sure she's upset - nah wait - shes PISSED. And i feel like it's foreshadowing something in ME3.... [hopefully im wrong cuz I dont want some strain in the friendship i share w/ Tali.] On the normandy, my sheps closest friends [aside from garrus] on the sr2 are Kasumi, & Tali. Mordin i love alot also, but considered a trusted advisor Image IPB
While I also do like Miri and the VS, as a squadmate  - theyre arent the #1 ppl i would trust in suicide-like missions seeing as its clear their loyalties lie elsewhere. The person I trust with my own life - Garrus hands down. He's proven he's there when i need him and gives support. Miri was around because of the sole fact that the illusive man had her be in there of the lazarus project and put her on Sheps team. I NO DOUBT would believe that if TIM asked Miranda to be in another "cell", she'd go in a heartbeat [well...if he asked b4 the loyalty mission]. As for the VS, well - the horizon scene pretty much speaks for itself. I appreciate the meaning behind the email he/she sent, BUT thats only sent if shep is romancing the vs! So as a friend - ouch. Ash/Kai, i still respect you and like your personalities, but my faith in you is wavering abit & its gonna have to be earned back.
Garrus, dont leave me side palImage IPB "I couldn't do this without you, Garrus." And of course, he adds in style points ;P
 OK, now that I've actually finished my ME2 PT, I can safely make this comment:
I thought Garrus was cool in ME1. I didn't play it when it first came out, but I clearly remember Garrus, Liara, and Wrex from watching my husband play it (on the 360). Everyone else was a clump of 'meh' in my head. I remember when ME2 came out, my husband (who played it at release) commented that there were two fanservice romances in and that Garrus was one of them. I thought, "Oh cool, that snarky cool-looking alien from ME1!", but I'm more of a sword and sorcery gal, so DA:O and DA2 are more my speed.
But...I made up my mind I was going to play ME and ME2 over my semester break this year. Yeah, Romancing Garrus (who I remember as being awesome the whole time) was definitely going to happen, and I really like the way it was handled. There's just sooooo much being said with the face touch/forehead bump. <3
I'm on about page 107 of this thread and nodding to a lot of what's being said as far as the evolution of the relationship, so I won't repeat it here, but I definitely think the Garrus romance is great. I really like the mentor/student -> more equal -> friends -> More than that evolution. (It doesn't hurt that I've lived the Friends -> Hey, we've got something here but have a hard time admitting it to ourselves transition, so I really identify with the Garrus/Femshep romance on an emotional level.)
Now I just want MOAR. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Gaider romance addict - but I don't feel like I have tragedy/angst/OMGWAT (that last is for you, Alistair!) fatigue after romancing Garrus. It's sweet, humorous, and richly emotional in a positive way.
Which brings me to my next question - is there a collection of banners that the creators have generally given permission to use? I think I am going to want to ditch one of my Fenris banners for a Garrus banner. :lol:
Yeah, I remember once trying that scene. I was like "You're shooting in my ship!? Tali, out." Nah, just kidding.:P
I like Tali, but she's still in the bottom when it comes to characters I like.
You know, the thing with Garrus is that he didn't even have to prove his loyalty to me. It's just that the first time I saw him, I knew he was someone that would hold my back. His body movement and the way he talks just adds more points to it. But truth be told, I see almost every turian to be very loyal (Okay, not everyone but you get the point).
Yeah, Miri wasn't trustworthy in the beginning, but after you do her loyalty mission and take her to the Human Reaper, she resigns from TIM right in front of him, and that's where I know that I can trust her.
You're saying Ash/Kaidan are awful as friends? Then what do you think of Shepard not sending a message back to them when they are your LI?:devil:
[/quote]
@Ursula Yay, another Garrus admirer! And don't worry, there's room for Alistair here also ;)
Ah Alistair easily my favourite character in origins, next to morrigan, I should probably get around to making a female warden, I was going to make may warden gay, then I saw that I could only have zevran and turned right back around again!
Miranda really rubbed me up the wrong way, that entire arguement with jack was just the ultimate display of immaturity, I get that cerberus provivded an escape from your father, but seriously, doesn't she realise that she is nothing more than an employee to cerberus, I assure when push comes to shove cerberus will happily throw any number of their employees under the tire to achieve it's goals. And what's more, Jack had been through literal and undeniable emotional termoil, it's pretty clear to us as the player that the group that tortured jack was a splinter group, ok, we get that, but jack is distressed and even more so; she's confused. So she accused your employer of something it didn't do, ok seeing where your loyalties lie, I can see why that would offend you, but honestly, about 98% of the galaxy regards your organisation as a terrorist group, you think if there's one thing you'd be used as a cerberus operative, it would be people misunderstanding you, you big breasted, impractically dressed child!
Chewin3 wrote...
Really? I found it to be the opposite, in fact after my first playthrough of the mass effect games I was quite surprised how dishonourable a race based around discipline and honour could really be. I think that all of the turians you meet are likable, in some way, but I wouldn't want someone like kuril or valern watching my back. We just don't really spend enough time with the ones that are loyal like Lorik or Nihlus I suppose.
