I do miss a good wall of text discussion, though it's hard to come up with one (at least for me).

EDIT:

I was in a silly mood today.

Heh, I'm still around, but unless I've got some sorta wall'o'text post about some topic, I... ain't really into that whole short-posts thing. Not good at small talk. XD

Also totally distracted by WH40K, but that's another thing entirely. ¬_¬

I keep meaning to get into the tabletop game if only it weren't so bloody expensive, I know exactly what army I want to make (space wolves) I just can't seem to bring myself to justify spending the amount of money it costs to put a decent army together....

Ahahaha oh man. As a dedicated Thousand Sons player, I think I'm obliged to lovingly hate you now. XD

But yeah, I feel ya on the cost. It's even worse down in Australia - if I buy direct from the Games Workshop stores down here, everything is almost DOUBLE the price of stuff in the UK or USA.  Like, a land raider that's $66 in the USA is $110 down here. Or a box of Space Wolves troops - $37.25 in the US, $62 in Australia. >_< There's not THAT much of a difference in the exchange rate to account for those price hikes. It's ridiculous. Luckily I got the core of my army as a gift from the guy who got me into the hobby in the first place, and I tend to buy other stuff from online stores that have way more reasonable prices.

If you really want to get into it, start small. Go for, say, a 500-point list first - one HQ and two basic troops choices. That'll let you get 'em painted up and assembled, and get accustomed to the rules and their playstyle and stuff without having to learn EVERYTHING AT ONCE OGOD. /brainsplode

... *cough* ANYWAY. Garrus. Garrus is awesome and I <3 him.

For sure...

Necron Army at full stengh with Nightbringer = $400

Warhammer 40,000 is a money drain, but well worth it if you have a lot of people to play with.

If Garrus played Tau in 40k he would be totaly unstoppable. Reach and flexibility indeed.

*Sitting in the captains quarters playing Warhammer 40,000 on the couch*

Garrus: "Shepard, I told you not to rush with Predators, my Hammerheads, as Jacob put it yesterday..."Cut em' like butter."

Shepard: "I still don't understand, dose the floating orb we found on Project Firewalker give me a +5 cover bonus or a -5 cover bonus?"

Garrus: "That's not how cover works, Shepard."

Shepard: "You know what, screw this. I'm going to go talk to Thane."

Garrus: "You wont stand a chance against his 500+ point Necron army."

Shepard: "I hate you both so much..."

Thane seems like the scouting kind of guy. He could use Creed to make IG pop up where you least want them. Not that it work much against Garrus Tau who would probably have a killzone ready.

Me and my bf both play Warhammer 40k, and I can confirm that it is a very expensive hobby, he paints, I do the battles. I have a 5000 point Tyranid army, some Orks and Dark Eldar. My bf has about 6000 Imperial Guard, 4000 of Necrons and some Chaos Space Marines. Very expensive.

And to keep this OT...

I know it is a Gordon Freeman crossover but he looks a lot like a Tau without the helmet here xD

Ah, no matter what happens that picture always brings a smile to my face... No really, I'm not kidding, it's completely involuntary...

Then I revert back to my old grumpy, horrid self again in a couple of minutes...

I think its starting to die because ME3 is mainly the topic of discussions going on and everyone has pretty much restricted anything even remotely related to ME3 to the other calibrations thread :/
Also, the fact that the holidays are coming up - many lives are getting busy.

Im balancing :
-Trying to get a cosplay going
-Work in retail is hell
-Friends kidnapping me
-Gaming

im hardly on the extranet nowadays >.<
*hugs everyone*

Cosplay, eh? Sounds cool. Any big event your attending to or are you just doing it for leisure time? Hmm, wonder how Obsy's "Normandy Car" is coming up..

You, grumpy?

Since when is Lorik grumpy? He was always so sad and worried, and then drunk...

sadly the Normandy car died. :(  was gonna be a Mako... but the head gasket blew. so i had to put her to rest.  Very sad.
I only wish I coulda done it. She woulda been amazing.

I'm sad that this thread is so slow nowadays, but not terribly surprised by it. hard to keep up with two threads on one subject... and like Arc said... Life gets i nthe way.
