Concerning the Jacob debate, I saw it mentioned that they tried to do too much with him: that's actually one of the main criticisms that Kaidan gets. They tried to make him TOO appealing to the female population. He's good-looking, he has a slight sense of humour, he's sensitive, kind and caring, but he also has a slightly dangerous streak and emotional baggage. I don't think Jacob is guilty of this, at least, not to the extent that Kaidan is (I do like Kaidan well-enough, but he definitely had issues as an LI).
Jacob is a guy who tries too hard to shelve his baggage away. The fact that he gets extremely pissed off when you probe him about it is just testimony to the fact. He also has a judgmental streak that Kaidan didn't have in ME1 (unless you Renegaded him, I guess)...in ME2, it's a slightly different matter. I think his "Mr Perfect" vibe is a lot lessened because of that. Well, and because of the way he tries to keep the romance casual, too. Of course, opinions on that last point may vary (people may like the casualness).
The more I'm thinking about...Jacob just doesn't fit as a ME2 LI.
I think why Garrus (and Thane) work so well is that there is something dark about these romances...either because it's taboo or because of the gloom around it (I mean, you and Thane aren't going to grow old together). They match the mood of the entire game. Jacob doesn't fit that at all. Jacob is 'too perfect' and too shiny in this dark, dark, dark game. Garrus and Thane, on the other hand, clearly understand that they're imperfect. And that's why it works.

Is there one Collider? Or is this just speculating that its a good idea?Collider wrote...
What do you all think about an official comic detailing Garrus' exploits on Omega?
if its the 2nd point - I think I would like something a little more in depth than what they did for Redemption. I like the idea of a graphic novel, but I don't think they could do it this way to appeal to the masses.

I think you're right. Jacob wants to pretend that he cannot ever have problems but he's wrong. And he's horribly insecure about it.Jackalope wrote...

They had a goldmine of potential with Jacob's corsair days. Being a corsair would have very well been like a sort of space pirate. Jacob recounting his adventures while being one would be great. Didn't happen though.

That might be about to change if the CNN is anything to go by...
"A new technology is helping victims of the Vallum Blast breathe easier —
literally. Researchers at U. Thierax are attacking the myriad of
respiratory diseases caused by inhaling dust around the blast site.
Dubbed “medi-gel for the lungs,” the Eupulmos Device analyzes a
patient’s tissue or medicard record before adjusting its
virally-delivered superdrugs to match the patient’s genetic
predispositions. After that, the mister sprays the aerosol into the
patient’s nasal passages and the drug is absorbed into the lungs. The
mister can also deliver microsurgery machines to make non-invasive
repairs to tissue and has a color-coded nozzle at each end with separate
agent reservoirs for dextro and levo patients. Said one ER staffer,
“The effect is incredible. In a year, the whole galaxy will be using
these things.”
Maybe that is going to be bioware's fix for Thane? I love Thane so no complaints here.
Oh, and Garrus:wub:

CDN mentions a turian "clawball" player. Then there's Garrus mentioning "several unhappy betters" with his reach. I highly doubt sports are weird to them. I wonder if they find fan's burning passion (like a krogan and fish) disturbing.Buggirl70 wrote...
I think any human sporting event might seem weird to turians. They might appreciate the athleticism and the community spirit in some of these events though.

Well it depends, I find some sports incredibly weird because they aren't what I am used to watching, turians may have the same response - they can like sports but they might say "gee that human sport of ....... is just downright weird" they could appreciate sport if its similar to something they play - ie clawball could be something like Lacrosse, but if its something they have no equivalent then there likely to think if not weird then 'unusual'.praetor_alpha wrote...

A good analogy is this - I used to play Ultimate Frisbee, its a relatively new sport here in Australia, not widely played, and when I spoke to friends about it most used to give me a weird look and say "ultimate frisbee is a sport? Isn't that something you do with your dog on the beach?"

Kaidan back in the day. I'm not bashing the guy. He's just not my cup

At least he's easier to tell off than Liara. I didn't have to restart my game because of Kaidan. <_<

Actions in the Garrus' romance scene? I would actually liked the scene to have gone on for a little longer than the headbump, touch shoulder (or boob as I first thought it was when i saw the scene) and then darkness. Maybe a hug or something...

This makes me wonder. What kind of human customs do you think Garrus or Turians would find weird?
I know this is really weird and (probably) gross, but since I always seem to go there in my head I figure I might as well spit it out here. Men of a delicate sensibility you might want to shield thine eyes, because this one is for the ladies:
Other people have wondered about the anatomical differences between human and turian females. Along the same line, I've pondered if turians have a menstrual cycle. I'm not a zoologist but I'm pretty sure that most Earth mammals have periods/go into estrous/heat, however we're dealing with an alien species so it's entirely probable that turians don't. If that's the case, what the heck would Garrus think if he discovers blood...AHEM...well, you can probably infer where I'm going with this.
And now I'm thinking about what turian tampons would look like... /bangs head on desk
