HEY GUYS CHECK OUT MY VIDEO REVIEW OF ME 3! You guys will love it! (especially Garrus fans)Tell me what you guys think!
Loved the review. You offered some helpful info. I also agree with your grade.
Note: Spoiler-like question regarding the endings::
Also, does anyone know of an online guide or anything to get the ending where Shepard "lives"? I know you need 5000+ points, and also the multiplayer. But I'm confused about the multiplayer requirement... I may play the ending on my tragic Shep playthrough or my maleshep, but not on my Garrusmance one(s) (headcanon - their romance must continue).
THANKS

SPOILERS AHEAD! DON'T READ BEYOND THIS POINT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!
I think the Garrus romance in ME3 is awesome. Perfect, actually. It's everything that I wanted it to be... you know, except for a reunion after the final battle. Just wish I could play faster and see these scenes play out with my own Shepard!
I agree that it's great to see so many turian characters too, especially Primarch Victus and his son. Ironically, I played through the mission where his crew almost betrayed him on the Ides of March. And the scene where he sacrificed himself, which I ended up playing three times in the past two days to get Shep's dialogue choices right... so emotional. Perfect reaction from Shepard as well, on Tuchanka and in the shuttle. It could be taken as sad or thoughtful, and it'll work for all of my Shepards because of it. Where one is regretting not being able to save him, another one will be thinking about how the events that just went down will effect the peace negotiations. That kind of thing is really important for my future playthroughs.
Also, I got to see Septimus on the Citadel. I didn't realize it was him at first because I forgot his last name, Oraka. That was a nice little addition for those of us who did his quest in ME1. He comments about it.
Great article. I'd like to add that, even though a major part of my disapproval comes from the reasons listed here, a happy ending is important too. To me, the current one just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the series. At the end of ME1 and ME2, and also throughout ME3, there was a common theme - hope. ME3's endings just leave a lot of players feeling defeated. Oh, and the fact that it's likely impossible for people without multiplayer to have enough points for every ending. That's a huge problem.Musicalrain wrote...
Hey, I know this isn't exactly Garrus related, but I thought some of you may enjoy the read: http://www.gamefront...fans-are-right/
It has major spoilers regarding the endings, and is a very well written article.

As far as i know, as long as you have 5000, choose the "Destroy" option. The multiplay ensures that you have enough points, I think if you do all you can in the single player for readiness, you only need to play a few hours worth of MP. (Though some have been able to reach 5000 without multiplayer).
@CrazyIvan, great review!
really only need 4000 for shep on the destroy choice, and multiplay can help if you have it. finding good groups is another issue. but it helped me on my second playthrough on ME3.
as for guide for endings and points this may help:

.... sad. miss you over there. Clan V is still pretty darned active. mostly discussion about the endings everywhere. which is sad.
yeah. the Garrus romance is the best thing ever. seriously. it makes me cry. in a good way. considering i haven't gotten to the endings..(and will ignore their existance even when i get there)
and all of the turians OMG! i love Victus. and the General. i don't remember his name, but the one on Manae. I apparently have a thing for the characters that show up for like 10 minutes at a time. fortunately he doesn't die.... though Ii'm not convinced that he's not Nihlus in disguise. similar markings, bright green eyes, gorgeous.... yeah. so many turians.
i also was excited for Septimus.

Does anyone have a link to the source that says it's possibly coming in April? I'm just curious, and haven't been following the forums as much lately.
@Obsy: My old account must have become inactive after my 8-month leave from BSN. That was easy enough to fix by making a new account with a name you guys would recognize and tracking down my old sig banners. The ME3 game registration issue is because of changes BioWare made - it needs to be tied to an online account that we use to play ME3, and of course, I don't use one. It's frustrating when I can't post in the threads where I've been a regular for 2+ months, even more so when I can't post in the thread BioWare is using to collect feedback for ME3. >_> At least that's good news about Clan V. I'll join up again.
They like to tease the fans by making turians with Nihlus' design show up elsewhere, I think. xD Remember the random turian on Illium in ME2? And I found a few dead turians with his model in ME1.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
I wish it was possible for Shep to not sound so... angry at Victus after his son died though. And to a lesser extent, at his son (Tarquin?) as well. Sure, my Kiara wasn't happy about the secrets, and she had hoped Victus wouldn't be like a typical politician, but she wasn't angered by it. Definitely not angry with his son for making a bad call that he thought was the right thing to do either. The interactions did get a lot of things right. I can imagine it as my Sheps being frustrated at other events and unable to contain it. She does have a bit of a temper. Still, I felt bad for Victus when she used that harsh tone and said he learned his lesson the hard way.

I haven't heard anything either...
Oh, and thanks for the link Pyn. I just read through it, it is very useful
Spolier-ish: And I agree with you The Sarendoctrinator. The endings don't do the series justice. It's a great game, and the ending just leave us (the players) with an empty feeling...
Oh, and here's a pic I drew on st. Patrick's day. I think it's ok, especially considering I drew it from memory, and while at a party (yea I was bored, I was the designated driver):

I hate oil pastels, wish I had some chalk for it. Garrus cuddles from ME2.

Minor ending spoilers? Not really, but I'll put a warning up anyway.
Empty is the closest comparison to how I felt finding out about the end of ME3. A lot of people were depressed, but I'm used to my favorite series ending in the worst possible way and having to imagine my own version. It was more like... I can't believe BioWare would do it.

Aww, Garrus looks great there, and really accurate with no reference pics too. Did you draw it only with oil pastels? No pencil to outline it first? That's impressive. I would have messed up terribly if I couldn't erase things.

yeah. thats about where i'm at, Kim. I couldn't buy it from BioWare either. They're usually so damned good to their fans. I dont know if it was a cop out or just laziness... or drugs or what, but its just sad that they would be that way.
and yeah. that pic is just awesome. i also am terrible with pastels... i need to be able to erase. i'm the sort of artist who makes 5 million mistakes before i get it the way i want it to be.

edit: also. i miss this thread. heh, i feel like i'm ignored on the ME3 thread. i make a post and no one even acknowledges it. i miss Arc and Arcian and danny, and k8ee and kg and everyone else that used to hang out here. where is everyone? too depressed to come back?

I can't imagine what they were thinking. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess. It's even more confusing because this is the first major issue I've had with any of their games. And they clearly know how to make amazing conclusions because they've done it before. ME1's ending was probably my favorite... of any videogame, ever.Obsydian wrote...

About the ME3 thread: I haven't been paying much attention to it lately since I can't post there anyway, but maybe it's just moving really fast? People don't always respond to everyone when there are a lot of posts. Some of the old group is still around in Clan V though.

And I love the second poster! It's perfect.
Spoiler-ish:
I've read a few rumors about the April DLC on youtube. Apparently it is supposed to be an explanation for the endings? I also don't know if it is true it is coming out, or if these rumors are just the result of blind hope from upset fans...
Also, I like one theory I've come across. I guess it is known as the indoctrination theory. I couldn't find the original explanation on youtube, but here's a link to an explanation if you're curious: http://www.escapistm...rination-theory
I was thinking about it, and it makes some sense to me. It also makes me feel slightly better about the endings, and gives me hope that Shep and Garrus can be reunited.
EDIT: I found the awesome video of the indoctrination theory explanation:

Hmmm yeah... it can feel like a sort of high school atmosphere at times, where the ‘cool’ kids ignore the unpopular ones. Rather childish, best to pay no attention to it.Obsydian wrote...

@PalAvian: Clan Vakarian is a group. It's been around for a long time. I think there's a link in the OP?
The Garrus threads have normally been very welcoming, and that's since I joined for the first time two years ago, so I doubt it's anything like high school in there, unless it's changed dramatically since ME3's release.

Perhaps that's when the difference of opinion between someone that’s been around for a while and someone that’s new comes into play. *shrugs*

naw, actually Kim, he's right. there's like 5 or 6 new people in there who just talk to each other and thats really it. its kinda sad. you're right, I've been in the Garrus threads for about a year now (gods has it really been that long???) and its never felt that ... elitist. *shrug* what can ya do.
also it does move much faster than i can keep up, 10 pages since last night. *shakes head* i'll just hang out here. i like it here better.
i'm gonna try not to be too excited about DLC in april. (by that i mean, i will very calmly hand whatever money BioWare wants over to them when the time comes) ...

That's sad to hear about the ME3 Garrus thread though. People always used to make welcome posts to newcomers and tell them to stick around and talk. Strange that it's changed so much in such a short time. Is it a multiplayer group or something? Those were the only posts I remember seeing that were just between one group where I was kind of lost because I don't use multiplayer at all.
I'm going to play this game a lot too, Obsy. I've seen a lot of people say the end ruined it for them, but I can ignore it and enjoy the rest. Headcanon is a powerful thing. I don't have an ending planned out individually for each Shepard. I have one ending that involves all of them because that's how my headcanon works. Everyone ends up happy in the future, Garrus and Kiara Shepard adopt a crazy bunch of kids (turian/human/krogan), and life is good. I'm already planning their children's personalities.

Nihlus rocks. Such a gentle soul for a spectre. I was horrified when he was killed in ME1, I mean; I knew what was gonna happen to him but I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon into the game. I wanted to learn more about him, very sad...Obsydian wrote...

Had a quick look at the Not Safe thread. O.O I see what you mean! Specially the first pages... but now it seems like is not a very active thread, am I correct?
Not wanting to be a party pooper or anything but I’d think all talk about the multiplayer should have its own thread/group. Donno, it doesn’t feel appropriate to discuss it on a thread that is reserved for all things Garrus and turian, specially when there are so many people that for whatever reason can’t or won’t play it.The Sarendoctrinator wrote...

And more Garrus/turian related: I will be trying to take screen-shots of the Garrus romance in ME3 and of awesome turians I find around the game. I play with the PS3, so I don't even know if screen-shots will work with ME3, but I'll try. And since I can't yet post in the ME3 forums, I'll post the image links here with spoiler tags. I will try this out tonight -- I hope it works.
