Here's something that I realized while playing ME3, and it's not a spoiler at all - I noticed that when Garrus is in the shuttle with Shepard on the way to a mission, he's often standing up kind of close to her while the other squadmate stays in their seat. Does the same thing happen for all of you? I'm kind of curious if it's a romance thing, or just his personality. Either way, I think it's great.

oooh, if you start doing screenshots of some of the turians... can you get one of the turian in the Apollo restaurant that you do the mission for?  he's got those bright orange facial markings and is awesome looking.

Also, I may have missed it, but does Garrus ever mention his mother at all? I know he talked about his sister and father on Palaven, but I don't remember him saying anything about his mother.

I second the request for screenshots of turians with cool tattoos. I always try to position the camera (and Shepard) in a way that I can get a good close-up look, but my usual method doesn't seem to work in ME3. It's hard to even see their awesome bright eyes unless I'm watching a cutscene.

Most of my Sheps, including the one I'm playing now, let Garrus kill Sidonis, so I wouldn't have noticed that he didn't get a mention if I hadn't read about it on the forums. I figured he wouldn't be there for something Shep and Garrus couldn't do without, unless someone else replaced him in those scenes if he's dead. I still thought you guys would get a mention of him, an e-mail at least.

I don't remember Garrus talking about his mother in the leaked script. When he didn't say anything after Shepard asks about his family on Palaven, that was shocking. I hope she didn't die between games...

Ok, well the first screen-shot option that I read about for the PS3 isn't working for me, so I have to try and fiddle with it. And perhaps hook-up my camera to it, or buy a TV capture card, or better yet -- dig out my DVR and hook that up. I also read that you can hook up your PC to it; I'm currently trying to make improvements to my laptop, so perhaps I can do this too. I haven't looked entirely at all my options in detail yet, but I should have something to show after all this hard work by the end of my Garrusmance play-through. I'm probably like around 60% done with it, but I'm trying to complete everything -- so it is taking longer than I thought. I thought I would be done after this weekend, but I had to sleep sometime -- lol. I'd love to post stuff on youtube too... I'll look through my options better later today.

Yea, I noticed it too. He seems a lot more supportive, and approachable in ME3 -- not that he wasn't before.
Spoiler-ish: I particularly loved the non-romance related conversation after the Tuchanka cure mission. They gave him some really great conversation options.

Oh, and the last thing I did last night, was the Garrus-date. It was great! <3

Just found a thing on Amazon called Pinnacle Dazzle that does video capture for PS3 and Xbox 360, yay. Will likely be buying that tonight. I can do screen shots from video too...

You're gonna have trouble with the PS3 trying to capture via HDMI because PS3 has HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection) so it won't capture anything at all. You'll need to do it via component (or composite) but you‘ll lose some quality in the process, as far as I'm aware there's only one video capture card that does that.
I have it and it's up and running, I could capture some pics or footage if I could be bothered with it, but I'm too disillusioned with ME3 to even fire up the game now.

Also I’m not entirely sure if you’ll be able to capture with Pinnacle Dazzle (Platinum, presumably). PS3 is a very tricky device to capture with. It might work with 360 better though. But again I’m not sure...

Yea, PS3 is a pain to take screenshots... I tried everything I could think of (spent a good 2 or 3 hours on it too), and just ended up taking pics off of my TV with my camera.... Anyways, here's a link to the webpage I compiled of those screenshots: http://www.freewebs....calrain/ME3.htm
Sorry if the quality is low, best I could do. But, at the end I included a pic of my Shep, if anyone wondered what she looks like. & I included a comparison pic of my baby cockatiel, Arden, and a random C-sec turian. Either cockatiels look a lot like turians, or turians look a lot like cockatiels. Oh, and Arden loves it when Garrus is talking in the game. He just starts talking and whistling up a storm. I think he's very responsive to his voice (or just flanging voices in general) -- or perhaps he just loves Garrus.  Anyways, hope you all enjoy the screenshots!

Great screenshots, Musicalrain. I noticed a while ago that turians resemble birds with those adorable "fringes" on their heads after I saw a gray and blue one that reminded me of Garrus. xD Turians were partly inspired by birds, so maybe that's where they got the idea from.

I liked Garrus' conversation after Tuchanka too, and I just played out his conversation after the Citadel yesterday. He has a lot of moments this time around where he gives Shepard a chance to open up about the hard choices, even seemed concerned for her when she hadn't been sleeping (loved the "I'll sleep when I'm dead" line from Shep). It's great for roleplaying when he asks those "what if" questions. Nice to know what he would have done in the same situation too, after Tuchanka. There used to be quite a few talks on the Garrus threads about what choices he would have made if he were put in Shepard's place.

I like that name for us, the "oldguard". It sounds like Vanguard. Vanguards of destruction. ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.
Just kidding about the Reaper comparison. xD (That is where my username comes from, though.)

It's too bad this place isn't very active. I totally feel welcome in the ME3 Garrus thread, but these annoying registration rules won't let me post there anymore. *left out* I agree, the Garrus romance turned out great. I think every scene is just perfect. Even Garrus' non-romance lines offer a lot of content, which is a huge improvement over ME2. Just wish I could take part in the discussions about it like the rest of you guys.

Sorry haven't been on here in a few days. Pretty much ME3 multiplayer and college taking all my time... Wish I had a friend that played as much video games as I do. I pretty much can only talk to my one friend's husband about Skyrim, and that's it! I tried quiz-ing my younger sis about the species of ME3 (just for fun - she's in high school, so no it's not like I'm asking a 6 year old about ME3, lol), and she said Grunt was Cuban instead of Krogan... lol. She did however, get turians right. But then asked, "How do you kiss a turian? It must be like kissing a bird, wait no, like kissing a turtle!" -- I about died from laughter. lol.

And now that I've rambled. I finished my garrusmance playthrough this past weekend!  Can't wait to play through it again! I'll probably put that off for a lil bit though.

I played the final romance-goodbye scene at like 3am, and nearly cried (although I don't usually cry at movies or games). I think I was probably emotional due to a lack of sleep, but it was still so very awesome! And sad, but mostly awesome...

I think the other forum is going a bit too fast for me to keep up. I think I'll wait until it calms down a bit more... That is, if it ever slows down, lol.

As for oldguard, I think it is great!

That's hilarious, "Cuban" instead of "krogan". I don't know anyone else who plays Mass Effect either, but I still talk about it anyway. It's always a pleasant surprise when they remember who these characters are. (They listen! )

I just played through Garrus' date scene yesterday, and it was adorable. I didn't know there would be so many options - Paragon interrupt or not, completely different dialogue if you make the shot or miss it, etc. For the record, Kiara Shep took the Paragon interrupt kiss (again) and then made the shot. Garrus was distracted, I think, and it threw him off his game. xD Her line about "no one alive, but I died" was brilliant.

Something else I noticed... Garrus and Shepard were throwing bottles into the air and shooting them down in an area where hovercars were driving. At least they're both good shots!

I love that date scene, I have the save I may watch it again.  I had my Shep (Vea) take the interrupt, but miss the shot -- since I love how excited he gets after.

Yea, I noticed the bottle thing too -- but he did say they were practice slugs, so I hope they wouldn't injure anyone! lol.

I was looking up the other romance scenes on youtube, Although I love the scene before the Cerberus base, the scene with Garrus is just way too short in comparison...

I was surprised when Garrus didn't say his "I'm Garrus Vakarian, and this is my favorite spot on the Citadel!" line after Kiara made the shot, but that just means there's more awesome dialogue to see on another playthrough. I imagine that she's a pretty good sharpshooter, despite the fact that I miss every now and then, and she's also a show-off. If their competition went on longer, I have no doubt Garrus would have won... but with Shepard only firing two shots, it just seemed more right for Kiara to make both.

I haven't watched the other romance scenes on youtube. I read them in the leaked script, just haven't seen how much was changed or how much of a difference video makes on the scene. (Before seeing Garrus' target practice date in-game, I wouldn't have guessed they were throwing the bottles based on dialogue alone. That was an amusing surprise.) In most cases, it doesn't matter to me if other LIs get longer scenes as long as all of them get great content that makes sense for their characters. Garrus' scenes turned out perfect, in my opinion, so I don't think it would bother me if other LIs had some extra minutes on their scenes. I'll be playing those out with other Shepards anyway.

Hate to bring this back up, but all told?  It really doesn't surprise me that an apparently Asian fan would do this kind of fanart.  Culturally they're very big on the family unit.  I think Japan and China both have this ideal family unit of Dad, Mom, and Single Child.  There's apparently this very traditional idea of the family requiring a child.  So, as much as the concept of Shepard being pregnant with Garrus's baby is weird and gross to us (yes I include myself here), I chalk it up to a culture thing until proven otherwise.  Aside from the Asian writing on the pic, there's the fact that most non-Asians can't draw manga that well no matter how much they practice--and most of us wouldn't put such a thrilled expression on Manga-Shep's face.  Frankly?  If I thought I'd somehow been impregnated with a creature that might kill me via an allergic reaction?  I'd be looking considerably more dismayed and horrified, and wondering if the reason there are so few turian females around might be because their offspring are secretly chest-bursters.  But the person who did this picture clearly intended it to be a charming, cute type of pic with Shepard and Garrus becoming proud parents for the first time.  I'd say they also didn't consider biology.

Although I concede the possibility that if they didn't want to adopt, Shep could always head to the fertility clinic, or Garrus could get a surrogate mother to have his child.  Or maybe both.  Then they'd each have a genetic child.

But yeah.  Mutant babies?  Beyond creepy.

that is wayyyyyyyy too cute and lovely, and im quite sure that not only Asians are family oriented plus i wouldnt mind having Garrus baby <3333 i would love to :3 no matter the consequences..

Hey guys! I’m over here on behalf of myself and some others who are currently working on a fan collective to send to Bioware to show our appreciation for the awesome Garrus Vakarian.

Basically our goal is to gather together some of the amazing fan art/ fan fiction that is out there, alongside some thank you letters to Bioware to show our appreciation for the amazing character they've brought us in Garrus (and maybe slightly hint we'd love more time) This isn't a protest group, it is appreciation.

Plus there's the converstation between him and his sister in Lair of the Shadow Broker, apparently they talk about her being sick?
Unfortunately i'm lead to believe that she really did die :/
Even though i don't have LotSB I read it on the ME wiki and it kinda got me down. I mean, It sounds like she just doesn't understand that Garrus really can't come and physically be there for Sol and his mom.

and another thing on my mind if you read the comic: What do you think his scholarship was? I'm really curious what he wanted to do before he went into C-SEC

If renegaded it's Spectre training. In my mind though Garrus left the Normandy after the Battle of the Citadel. Because it seems ridiculous for Jacob to only mention Tali and Liara when he talks about survivors. What, Wrex and Garrus aren't important?

I'm sure this question has been asked but how does the Dr. Saleon mission factor into Garrus' morality stance?  In my last playthrough of ME1 i pretty much supported his Renegade side however chose to arrest Saleon and only kill Saren as a last resort.

When i looked my ME2 save in Gibbed, Garrus was 3 ticks toward Paragon and 2 toward Renegade.  I assume this is neutral Garrus but i'm kinda trying to break down what i said to him and what effects it has.
