@PatrickWeekes So do Turian females have breasts?

PatrickWeekes
‏No. They do, however, have the forward-angled plate, just like turian men do. That's what people are seeing.

Oh thank god. I'm glad they didn't actually go off the deep end more than usual and give Turians boobs.

A turian female with a design that makes sense is indeed good news. I'd still prefered a 'real' fringe, though. Now Garrus' line from ME2 seems kind of strange to me.

@Sable: Agreed, though I didn't know that phrase ;) And that puppy is indeed cute.

You know, I might sound crazy saying this, but I also would have liked an option *not* to be Garrus' BFF. When the only way for you to not be BFF with a character in a RPG is to either kill them off or just ignore them completely, it kinda disturbs me. I would have liked to earn his friendship (or his love) as a roleplayer.
But I guess it couldn't be like Dragon Age and its (IMO) terrific approval/disapproval system, and overall Mass Effect was fantastic despite my complaints.

Poor Imoen had a terrible voice in the French version. I only started tolerating her and eventually liking her when I played the game in English.
[...]

It's not crazy at all. There are some characters where I feel the same, albeit not Garrus. Though, given that ME2 offers the loyalty missions, it makes sense (not only cost-effort-wise, but also storywise) to assume a bond between Shepard and all surviving squad members. Same with ME for most. And even those who didn't get a personal quest have literally been through hell together.
And DA:O's approval system, especially the gifts... whoa. Bad idea. Most of the time I felt like bribing them into liking my character. Not counting the personal gifts which actually made sense, like Flemeth's book for Morrigan or Duncan's shield for Alistair. I would have liked an option to give gifts to crew members, but with the sole purpose to get some additional dialogue, and not as a requirement for romance / friendship. Dextro ice cream for Tali, a scope for Garrus, a toothbrush for Traynor, probably something inappropriate for Joker... Like Chakwas' Serrice Ice Brandy, but for all characters :D

The German VAs changed from BG to BG II. For BG I'd agree, not only for Imoen. BG II though was fantastic. Usually I prefer the original VAs, but for that game I make an exception. Minsc, Sarevok, Imoen, even Anomen - all great.

Aww, that puppy! That reminds me that my big brother called his kitten Sarrus. Guess after who he was named.

I sincerely can't wait for Omega. I'm a weak, weak woman.

Well, when I talked about the approval system, I didn't really think of the gifts. Special gifts were nice (Andraste's Grace, Alistair's mother's amulet, etc...) but other than that, it could get silly fast. I think I gave so many things to Alistair he had to buy a new pack to carry them all. I just liked the idea of actually having to earn the friendship of your party members. Felt more like a reward when they fell into my character's arms.

And I don't think I'd even roleplay a character who dislikes Garrus, but I'd like to have the possibility. There are a few characters my characters would hate, though.

They changed the voice actors from the first BG to the second as well. Except for the enemies. The only thing I truly miss from the French version of BG was the kobolds' voices. They were absolutely hilarious in French. It killed me every single time they barked.

A little off topic. If Bioware says fem-turians don't have breasts despite the suggestive screen shots then I'll accept it. And imagine Nyreen's diminutive head crest is a quirk unique to her. But this will always be how I envision the girly raptors- fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/096/c/2/the_elusive_female_turian_by_queensimia-d4v8h5n.jpg

In addition, this video has ME3 spoilers, but if a better shakarian vid than this exists, I challenge you to find it-

-----------------------

If a game is an rpg, I think it's silly for gifts to be required at all to befriend characters. Especially if the game takes place during say, an approaching apocalypse. Never finished DA:Origins, but I remember finding that system a tad odd. Whether they like you or not should purely be determined by your dialogue choices and in-game decisions.

Anyone here have photoshopping skills? We could use an actual forum sig to help promote the ME3 Happy Ending mod. Or if not, do y'all know who made the Garrus banners linked on the OP?

MEHEM 2.0 is released, according to the descriptions including a fix for Garrus' animations :)

Seems like a good week for ME, with Omega so close. Does anybody know about additional romance-related content in the DLC?

I doubt there'll be any, since we won't bring our squadmates with us. Maybe Shep will make a comment, but I don't think so. (Always expect the worst, there's a small chance you'll be pleasantly surprised!)

And *five days later* sorry Sable, my photoshopping skills are existent, but pretty poor.

*sigh* You are right, of course. Somehow I had hoped that the "no regular squadmate" thing might be restricted to some, but not all of Omega's missions - assuming that there are multiple mission parts at all.
Omega is more expensive than Leviathan, though, and if it's "only" Aria and the introduction of female Turians, but no participation at all (be it missions or dialogue) of the regular squadmates... Still looking for the all-convincing "must-buy" part of Omega, since I have never been a big fan of Aria.

Any chance you are going to play it anyway and might comment on whether it is worth the price or not?

I am. It'll probably take a few additional hours for France to have the DLC available but I'll definitely play it on the 27th, so I'll let you know.

I'll be looking forward to your review too, Karrie.  I wasn't planning per se on buying Omega especially at that price, but now that I can actually enjoy ME3 again, I might pick it up if it's worthwhile.

Very much appreciated. Thanks!

@Sable Rhapsody: Not yet sure about it, but after playing through the mod, I can see the possibility. Assuming your reason for enjoying the game again is indeed MEHEM ;)

I still dislike London, though. And the dream-sequences. And the little things like Kal's "death e-mail"... Not much to do about the London level, but the rest probably means that my Christmas holidays will consist of reading modding-tutorials and getting frustrated over hex-editors :D

MEHEM is indeed the reason I can play ME3 again without feeling like I'm beating my head against a wall ^_^  Thessia, London, the dream sequences, the crappy journal, autodialogue, Miranda's relative absence, and everything within 100m of Kai Leng are still terrible.  But the huge thing I had a problem with, the Catalyst, has been excised.  The ending might just be one element of the game I disliked, but it contributed disproportionately to my "bleargh" feeling over ME3.  Now that that's fixed, I can enjoy the game despite the other fail.

I am just relieved that there are really scenes with her, but without her hood.

On a side note: At about 1:30 there are some funny frames - what does the rumor mill say, is there a (minor) romance option for Aria?

Edit: The introduction of a named villain other than Kai Leng is good. It's just sad that this is really worth noting.
And that thing on 0.47 looks a little bit weird to me.

Yeah I'm happy about that too. She looks so badass without her hood.

I'm absolutely sure you can get "friendly" with her. You won't get any details about it from me though, not a fan of her, and neither is my Shepard.

And that's precisely why I am more interested in your opinion of Omega than that of any 'faster' player who might write down his / her impression - similar point of view.

Because I won't go all "ZOMG ARIA IS AWESOME"?
I have to warn you, I might go "ZOMG I LOVE NYREEN".

But seriously, I'll do my best.

I'm down with ZOMG NYREEN

As for Aria, I don't dislike her.  I think she's an interesting enough character in her own right, just overrated.

Same, I don't hate her either. She has some priceless lines. But there's her cringe-worthy introduction in ME2, and then she was just... kinda there. It took me a while to warm up a little to the character.

So, this is where everyone went. Since the character forums locked down...I was without anything Turian related for a long time. And thought it was the end, but, at last, there is hope!
Time to bring out the...wait for it...Dancings Turians

No. It's rather that if you'd go "Aria is all awesome" after playing through Omega, I'd suspect that she's really awesome in the DLC. Besides, when I take the trailer as reference, I'd sign your second sentence ;)

Regarding MEHEM: Somebody here mentioned it already - with a working flycam, it's easy to get some nice screenshots out of the memorial scene. I used the hex editor to switch the uniform and to "heal" the wounds, it's really relatively easy. And there's still the stargazer scene present for personal changes, if one is interested in that. Great to have that mod.

Edit: @TNT1991: I am not sure if that clip is funny, weird, or frightening :D

*sigh* Thanks to the sh*ttiest Parisian Internet connection of all times (50 Ko/s? Really?), the DLC is taking forever to download. I'm not sure when I'll actually be able to play the damn thing.

Nyreen is still awesome!

@TNT1991: That is... disturbingly hilarious.
