Hehe, plus in Sigil you have the problem of random portals opening up.  That would be inconvenient.

Garrus turns on Flux music and promptly vanishes not knowing that Flux music was the key that opened a nearby portal to the Shadow Plane (he'd do well there...he's always in shadows.)

Shepard stares opened mouthed at where Garrus was two seconds ago.

I asked this a while back but no one said anything so I'll try again. Did anybody notice that the words "husband" and "wife" were used in relation to turians on Cerberus news not so long ago? We finally have confirmation on existence of turian marriage.

I haven't been following that. That is really interesting. We really have gotten so much info from those feeds; I'm very grateful from them, as they seem to have been "turian-heavy" lately.

Yea, I tend to read it every three or four days specifically because there generally is so much stuff on turians. Sometimes it's almost like someone is stalking us. It does seem like a lot of questions we have really gone over and over consistently get answered on that news feed. It's probably just coincidence, but it does make you wonder.

Once they started up with the Taetrus story, I got interested.  They've dropped some good info in there.

The way turians fight internal disputes is fascinating and very efficient. It provides some really cool insight into how turian culture works.

I've actually enjoyed reading CDN and the follow up on the Taetrus story, I even incorporated it into some ff I wrote.

This is the main reason I like ME so much. I always thought space opera was a little goofy (in a good sort of way) but ME has this kind of hard sci-fi heart. They really outdid themselves on world-building. I'm afraid they have ruined Star Wars for me.

Star Wars was ruined (or came close) for me when they reduced the Force to "midichlorians."

Well, I was like hmm 13 when the Phantom Menace came out so psuedo-scientific mumbojumbo didn't bother me.  That movie was actually my introduction to Star Wars.  I had not seen the others before that and I really liked the first movie.  In hindsight it's not as good as the others but I still have some nostalgia for it.

The thing that bugs me about Star Wars is the goofy aliens.  I HATE ewoks.  And don't even get me started on Jar Jar Binks....

As far as I am concerned the travesty that was the most recent Star Wars movies - never happened. George Lucas needs to be keel hauled for that particular money grabbing stunt.

I'm a big fan of both Space Opera and hard core Sci-Fi and the ME universe gives me loads in spades, so it fits me perfectly.

Maybe you can recommend some other good space opera for me then. I have been fishing for some every since I started ME, but it seems like it's actually kind of rare or obscure. Everything gets buried under Star Wars, Star Trek, and Halo. I like all those but they can't compete with ME.

I just need to say this is one of my favorite pictures of Garrus. He looks sooo incredibly sexy right here.

Also, this has nothing to do with anything but I remember a while back we were discussing that it was sort of weird that many women thought turians were so darn sexy when they have what some folks consider "feminine" features. Here's something on that from the highly authoritative wikipedia (yes, I am kidding.) I stumbled on it the other day and thought it kind of interesting.

"The mesomorphic physique of a slim waist, broad shoulders and muscular chest are often found to be attractive.[18] A near-universal sexually attractive feature of a man is a v-shaped torso: a relatively narrow waist offset with broad shoulders. While some cultures prefer their males huskier and others leaner, the rule of a v-shaped torso generally holds true. Consistently, men with a waist-to-shoulder ratio of 0.75 or lower are viewed as considerably more attractive than men with more even waists and shoulders.[19] A degree of hirsuteness and a waist-to-shoulder ratio of 0.6 is often preferred, when combined with a mesomorphic physique.[20]

A normal level of the hormone testosterone is a possible indicator of good sexual health. In the absence of normal testosterone levels, a man may have reduced height and muscularity."

Of course, most people already know that on an instinctual level, but I still thought it was interesting to see.

Shame on you TIM!  Shoving a gun in a turian's face that way!

Yay Sia!!

Raga - At the moment I'm reading Alistair Reynolds Terminal World, almost finished - his stuff is borderline space opera/hard core this one though I think is more Space Opera.

One of my favourites of his is called "The Prefect" slots into some other works of his but can be read as a stand alone - its sort of a cross between a detective/sci-fi novel.

I don't usually watch Space Opera, but there's a few that are pretty decent.

I never got into Star Wars until I heard of KOTOR a few years back. Still looking for a hard copy game of it (it's hard to find these day and I don't want to buy it on Steam, unless there's no other way)

Good morning everyone. All I got from everyone is....MUTANT babies.....still no explaination why you call them MUTANT! If Turians and Humans could have kids together in a natural way, what would be so horrible about it? It's not like they were cloned or anything!
