It's not really funny. It's just plain stupid and bad. Either you romance him for casual sex, or he dumps you for getting to personal.
Jacob: I'm just being honest. Big picture, there's way more
important things to hold onto.
Shepard (concerned): Lying to
yourself won't help. It'll just eat at you.
Jacob (angry): What I
really don't need is someone telling me I don't know myself.
You
think about my problems more than I do, and it needs to stop.
Maybe
you should go hang on Garrus. He might suit you better. *ends romance*

Yep! Although I'm still not sold on Matt Smith as the The Doctor. He just doesn't have that tiny sliver of darkness that the others Ecclestone and (especially) Tennant portrayed so well. There was a real feeling that they could go too far. The only thing I get from Smith is that he might fall over on a banana (let it alone...).

Every time I imagine "...but da priiiiiiiiiize" spoken in Jacob's voice, I gigglesnort. And then I imagine Harbinger vs Jacob, and I gigglesnort some more.
Seriously...well, actually no. I can't take Jacob or his romance seriously. Hence the gigglesnorting. Really, it's a much healthier reaction than getting huffy about it.
On a completely different topic, since both adoption of orphaned turians and Sci-Fi have been brought up, has anybody seen this before? I first saw it in a cinema, as one of the commercials before a film. It actually made me tear up. Not for the easily saddened. You have been warned.

I did like Tennant, but I'm far more sold on Matt Smith as being The Doctor of old. The Tenth Doctor's weariness started to, well, wear thin on me. Like the Doctor was really only hanging on to that lust for life by a very thin thread. Ecclestone I thought did that to much better effect than Tennant, that he had been pushed to the edge and was balancing that darkness with his zeal.Steel Dancer wrote...

Anyway, the biggest plus on Matt Smith's portrayal is that the Eleventh Doctor makes mistakes. The Tenth Doctor could do no wrong. I also think that for as young as the Eleventh Doctor looks, he makes a good show of demonstrating he is truly old.
How did I get so far from discussing Turians? Here's a concept: a race that can transfer consciousness from one to another. Unlike the Asari, the transfer of memories from one to the other kills the original and alters the existing. This also has nothing to do with Turians, it was just a thought that arose after discussing transferring brain function to a computer in the Legion thread.
Lorik Qui'in worked on artificial intelligence, so I figure the Turians walk that fine line as humans do on the benefits versus risks. Humans have created AIs before EDI, and have now integrated one into the Normandy. It creates a significant tactical advantage that I think the Turians would want to capitalize. Especially in the tension-filled galaxy where the old Council died, I suspect EDI is just the start of AI integration onto ships for all races. Heavy risk...
Wonder what exactly Synthetic Insights is working on...
Why did Garrus have to calibrate the weapons anyway? Sounds like something EDI could have done just as well and much faster. Think it was simply a relaxing activity for him? Like tearing apart a computer and putting it back together again just for fun.

I think people don't give him enough credit for being a tech as well. He spent just as much time fiddling with the Mako. I can see him as a child being incredibly proud of the remote control turian cruiser he built himself.Cerrydd wrote...

I do actually feel a bit sad that his sniping skills overshadowed anything else about him. The reason why he was always at my side in ME1 (besides being awesome in general) was the tech power storm we unleashed upon all our foes.

WANT MUTANT BABIES!!!!!!!! *stomps feet and pouts* that being said....
I gave up with Lana's save to trigger the Garrus' love triangle dialogue. Figured, I might as well continue play Shanna who actually IS romancing Garrus but DAMN....even though she NEVER actually SPOKE to Thane, I only get the "maybe you should go and hang on Thane or Garrus" line from Jacob. So you guys will have to make do with a video capture of that one.
Getting to the Garrus love triangle ....hopefully. Reaper IFF next, then Legion's loyalty mission and off to the Omega 4 relay we go....oh wait, I feel like I'm forgetting something...oh yeah, Garrus-Shepard-foreheadbuttawesomeness.....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *runs around squeeing throwing skittles* okay, back to gaming! xD

it has to trigger as well, if I only lead Jacob on because Jacob already brought up his love triangle dialogue and wants me to talk to Garrus so I can either dump him or not. Google said so too. So I will need to get Garrus' love triangle dialogue first before I can dump Jacob, otherwise he refuses to talk to me until this is cleared up.

I meant that Garrus gives you his triangle dialogue if you're still romancing Thane, but the "closer to home" dialogue if you're still leading Jacob on.
But I guess I could be mistaken, I was romancing all three at the time.

I got the "closer to home" dialogue from Garrus before I even started talking to Jacob. Jacob was a no-talk until a few missions ago. He always told me he doesn't like these conversations being forced onto him. Garrus and Shanna were clear to go when I started to romance her with Jacob, then when that romance with him was locked, I got the "talk to garrus about it" dialogue. Now I actually need the Garrus dialogue so I can dump or tell him that Shanna wants it too because otherwise Jacob refuses to talk to me and keeps giving me the "talk to Garrus" dialogue. And as long as I don't get Jacob to talk to me again, I won't be able to get to the point of actually dumping Jacob for Garrus, which is what we all want to see and hear, the cuttlebone line. I also saw that there is a glitch in the game, where you can romance all three of them, lock the first romance to get that one for the romance scene before the Omega 4 relay and then get the other ones right after the Collector base, which is definitely NOT what i want for Shanna. gah....

IIRC, I locked in the Jacob romance just after his LM. I did Garrus' LM right after Jacob's, had the reach and flexibility convo, then did one other mission. I don't think I had another conversation with Jacob until I got Garrus' "love triangle" dialogue. Then I was able to break up with Jacob and get the cuttlebone line.
that's what google says too, also that the order of locking the romances doesn't matter. i hope that's correct though lol. otherwise, shanna has a problem after coming back from the omega 4 relay haha. *barfs in advance*
