yes, you have to romance Jacob for that. I am actually planning on dumping Jacob so I get the Garrus-cuttlebone line from him. Was trying that on my last playthrough but romanced them in the wrong order. You need to romance Jacob first and then Garrus. Also, in my last PT I always had Jacob mention Thane in the same line. This time, I had him before I even recruited Thane. So woot! *points to sig* I keep my blog updated with all kinds of videos I am capturing during my PTs so you may want to have a look there.

Also, I just caught a dialogue between Jack and Garrus on Ilium that I've never heard before. Will upload that one later. Gonna recruit Samara now, so I can finally make some progress in romancing Garrus. Can't wait to get rid of Jacob. That guy is so YIKES! I mean, seriously, he goes on about having no baggage and wanting something light, but eventually is the one telling you how much he loves you when you dump him *rofls* oh ego thou art a heartless b1tch

Cuttlebone line?? =O I can't wait to hear that, haha. I hope you post it? =D

It's a crapshoot maybe. When I did it the first time, it all loaded immediately. When I tried it the second time, nothing loaded at all. Think you have to do everything in very specific steps and I got it wrong the second time.

Last ones the best, it almost suggests that Garrus likes hanging out with friends more than he does calibrations.

Good morning everyone. I should get the cuttlebone line from Jacob tonight...HOPEFULLY! Romance with him is fully locked. It was funny and disgusting to watch all him hit on Shepard. That guy is so YIKES! Telling Shepard she's something special but still treating her like some random woman who's just hitting on him. Also, getting super angry when she tries to get him to open up. She even had an "ungrateful jerk" option then which I knew would totally screw up the romance but I had to try it just for the laugh. woot for saves. Didn't video capture it. But pissing that guy off is just too funny. Anyway, romance is locked, Garrus asked Shep for help with Sidonis before I went to bed last night so I should get this done today when I get back after that useless invention called work and what was the other thing? oh yeah, my life. And then the romance can begin ^.^ and then I can finally get rid of Jacob. I really do hope I got everything right this time.

Don't know if I posted it earlier but I also finally got Jacob to tell Shepard to go hang on Garrus - without Thane being mentioned this time. Hang on to Garrus, he might suit you better in comparison to the one where Thane is mentioned
