An excellent list, although I'd move A Night to Remember to the front, though, as I feel it fits most naturally into the game--I can imagine all that actually happening.  I love those other 3, though.
And I'd be remiss if I didn't nominate "Reward" at least for Honorable Mention.  It takes a completely different approach, and it's well-written...even if it's more smut and less plot, it still qualifies. ;)


Oh yea, forgot that one kglaser.  It is good.  Night to Remember Garrus is a little too...hmmm sure of himself/overtly head over heels for my tastes.  Not that I don't think he THINKS that way, I'm just not sure he'd be ready to act/speak that way that soon.  Obviously, I still really like the fic though or I wouldn't put it there.

And strangely enough the title of that pic I posted says it is Kuril.  I have NO idea what the artist was thinking there, but the pic sure looks good so I"m not complaining.

Kuril? The pic looks better than the Kuril in game. Kuril is still ugly and looks like a dried peach.

Hey, I didn't say the artist made sense but the pic was calld "Young Kuril." If you look closely he doesn't have facepaint, but yea otherwise I'll just pretend he is "attractive mystery bareface turian #196" because Kuril was a butthead.

Seriously though, do you guys think they added those deep wrinkles to indicate he is old? Or simply a design choice to make him look really evil?

The wrinkles plus his voice made me think he was well past middle age. He seemed grizzled.

Ok here's the deal with the "Sheploo" title. The default John Shepard's face is modeled after the dutch male model Mark Vanderloo. So they too half of both names and put them together. Shep + Loo. So when some one says "sheploo" they are referring to the default Male Shepard.

Yeah, it's just "M!Shep" or "MaleShep" for custom. I've called my Tali-romance MaleShep a few nicknames - MaleShep (even though he's one of many), Shepard #1 (he was the first Shepard I created when I bought the game), "experiment" Shepard (you know, the first Shepard whose decisions get really messed up because you just want to see what happens and didn't know about the Mass Effect Wiki). I normally don't call them by name because I don't think anyone will remember their names, and it'll just be confusing to newcomers. xD For anyone who cares, Shepard #1/my current MaleShep/the Vanguard I was talking about several pages ago/the poor guy who got trapped in Liara's romance and needs a replay is named Joseph. MainShep is Kim (she was my current playthrough when I joined the forums, so that's where the username came from).

It looks like I missed a lot over the last few pages. Saren, Kuril (Really? Younger Kuril? I would have guessed random barefaced turian.), Garrus on a skateboard...

Well, the really good ones and certainly the ones in that list I gave actually do have a lot of akwardness which is what IMO makes them belieavable and a cut above their kin.

There is a vast amount of crapfic out there (not just Garrus-related...it's everywhere).  Ask people for recs and give them specific parameters for what you're looking for.  There's some very good work to be found, too.

Me too! The last time I read fanfiction before that was for a Japanese rock band, and it just went the whole way backwards. O_o

It is quite a feat...if he can, then we need to seriously declare that he's the coolest dude ever.  If he can make creme brulee also, then we should just declare him King of Everything right now. :wizard:
