Yea, I have read that fic. I remember it now. It was pretty good in a weird "what-if" kind of way. Makes you reinterpret rejecting Garrus a little. I liked that but the culmination was a little too dramatic for my tastes.

Ragabul, your sig, is that from the game, or a fic?

I think I must have liked the drama   Well to each his own, pretty boring world if everyone likes the same thing after all. B)

It's from the game, from ME1.  When Ash has her "concerned about aliens on the Normandy" speech you can tell her that you understand where she is coming form but that she will have to work with aliens like it or not.  Then she says" If you say jump, I'll say how high.  If you say kiss a turian, I'll ask which cheek."  Then Shep says that.  It's rather prophetic. of Ashley.

Oh don't get me wrong.  I liked it.  It's better than 85% of the rest of the stuff out there.  I'm just really picky.

Yea, I found some combat dialog earlier today where all he says is "Sorry, I'm in the way" if you accidentally shoot him. He keeps his cool.

Off topic but I just became aware of the epic freak out over on the DA2 boards a few days ago.  It's like pre-ME2 all over again.  Oh the horror!

And Garrus.

I know. It's got a shooting star and everything. It just needs femshep to get in on the epic badassery and all would be well.

as for fanfiction....I came across one Garrus fic the other day, a story about Garrus and Shep after Sidonis. It was....uhm, I don't know. Basically Garrus was all messed up because Shep stopped him from killing Sidonis and he got pretty angry and drunk. In the end, he basically raped her. I couldn't even finish reading it because it was TOO much ...not only OOC for my taste but also Rape fic.....seriously?

From the reviews I could tell that people like me have no idea what art is but yeah.....I found it disturbing and can imagine that it might trigger certain people into a bad state of mind.

Myself, I actually started writing again. A background story for my MainShep and another for my RenegadeShep with the idea of how she went from being Paragon in ME1 to becoming Renegade in ME2. It will involve Garrus and I rated it M in advance, just in case. I have no intentions of smut yet, but who knows. I am not really good at describing certain scenes anyway.

I read that fic you are speaking of Jane. It is dreadfully OCC, but it is well written. I don't know how I feel about it just yet. I could kind of stomach it because it's so OCC that it almost seemed like I don't know alternate universe Garrus or something.

It's too OOC for me. I had Garrus' picture in mind all the time, yet not the character itself if you know what I mean. And I just don't see him doing this. Holding a grudge against Shepard, yes! But going this far? no!

Well written or not, that story definitely needs a trigger warning at the beginning.

Tried remembering to ask this question earlier. Of course, I remember it now that I have the lights turned off and I plan on crawling into bed, but here we go:

Turians and poetry. We know from Kasumi's loyalty mission that they are capable of producing sculpture (although Kasumi says that it's "rare"). Let's assume that they can produce poetry (hey, even a krogan tries his hand at it in Nos Astra!), so what kind? Is it just something their military historians do on the side for each regiment? Are they writing haiku? Sonnets? Free verse?

I have a poem in mind that I was going to quote here that got me thinking about this question, but it's too dark to see right now, so I'll post it in a few hours.  Cheers.

I would say definitely form poetry. I don't see turians doing free verse. And something with a beat like an army could march to like ballad verse or hexameter or something.  I think turians would dig epics.

Was that on the Masskink site Jane? If so I think I read it - it felt so WRONG, in more than one way - sexual violence is where I draw the line, I don't want to read that sort of thing- not keen on visitng that topic thankyou, especially not about Garrus, but that site - as is advertised, is for peoples "kinks" however offensive we find them (I've posted there a couple of times - kinky but fun stuff fluff piece with a nice sweet ending - thats how I like my smut) I've found a few on their "not to my taste" but I stop reading them as soon as I don't like where the story is headed.

As for you knowing what "art" is, art is different things to different people and you could go on for ever debating the topic!!  Nothing wrong with not liking it or even questioning its purpose or definition as "art"

I was wondering where all the ejected trash from the Normandy might go, thinking about planet rings and such, doing some research in relation to a sort of RP-- found this: a 2001 inventory of space junk- http://www.space.com..._junk_list.html

A funny (now that the danger is past! hehe) fact from the main Space Junk page: "In 1965, during the first American space walk, the Gemini 4 astronaut Edward White, lost a glove. For a month, the glove stayed on orbit with a speed of 28,000 km / h, becoming the most dangerous garment in history." If this were Garrus' glove, imagine the damage.

Haha, us Americans are messy. More than half of the stuff we have up there is "debris." 741 satellites to 2971 pieces of pure space junk. That's pretty funny and sad.
