What kind of Spectre do you think Garrus would actually be? We see Saren (Spectre gone rogue), Nihlus (Spectre gone dead), and Shepard (huh... also Spectre gone rogue depending on how you play it). There's a reference to an asari Spectre in Cerberus Daily News. Spectres are given a lot of leeway in how they go about their business, able to handle any situation if they think it threatens Citadel space. So what sort of missions do you think Garrus would take on? I mean, beyond the Reaper threat - assume that's been handled.

It cannot be stopped. You have begun a list. You must complete it. You fail at LIFE if you don't complete it.

Or so that's how my thinking goes whenever I start a list...

Just be glad this is the Garrus thread, not a Tali one.

I'm afraid to look in the direction of the Tali thread.

The Tali thread is the brown dwarf of forum threads, almost massive enough to be a subforum itself.

Good luck with archiving. I hope you're having fun doing it, lol. I'm sure it helps that it's all about Garrus XD. We're all in awe of your persistance. Well, at least I am.

Out of all of the squad mates in ME, Garrus would be the best candidate for Spectre training.

I'm personally hoping that we get to meet some of the other Specters in the next game.

And and, maayybe get to have one or two of them on our squad. :3

Also! Garrus.

Yeh, just look what he did on Omega, to quote Jenkins: "That's Spectre justice!"

He killed a lot of people, but did he really change Omega? He claims he never made a dent in its seedy world.

The point about being a Spectre is that your missions are protecting Citadel space. The Council can guide you, but it's ultimately left to each Spectre to find the threats to galactic peace and thwart the attempts. Is Garrus capable of finding these threats?

I'm not saying he couldn't be a good Spectre, I'm just rather curious to know what kind of Spectre he'd really be. It's not enough to be extremely good at what you do, you have to be extremely good at finding a way to apply that knowledge to bigger causes.

Thank you everyone who liked my art.

Garrus is a wannabee spectre before ME2. He will hopefully be a real spectre in ME3. But spectres are few so it would be more efficent if they didn't operate in the same team. Why not gice spectre Garrus a ship and team of his own in ME3? We could switch between controlling team Garrus and team Shepard.

I've always loved the idea of Garrus coming into his own on ME3, stepping away from his dependence on having Shepard around to really make a difference in the galaxy. Okay, I know people feel that Garrus's and Shepard's strength is as the unstoppable duo, but ever since ME1, I've wanted to see Garrus really meet his potential. He almost had it on Omega, though his choice of venue wasn't exactly what I'd call inspired.

To have him command his own team to support Shepard's battle against the Reapers is the ultimate evolution of the character to me. He's gone from the mentored to the contemporary. This is assuming Shepard is doing a rather direct assault on the Reapers, though. If I were Shepard, I'd want the best and most trustworthy taking command of various battalions. And Garrus has always expressed an interest in battle tactics.

As for being able to control Garrus's team, not exactly sure about that. I did have a lot of fun taking control of the other squadmates in DA:O during the final battle, but that was a snapshot of the larger story. And there was that moment of controlling Joker, though that was pretty straightforward. I wouldn't mind taking control of Garrus and his team during ME3 for a brief encounter, but I wouldn't want to keep alternating between Garrus and Shepard. There are too many squadmates that I love to give any one that much focus.

He's got the mindset at least. His main problem was it was just him and a ragtag group of down on their luck dudes, that's why Sidonis was so easy to turn.
Yeah, he does have a ways to go before being true spectre material, but he has the potential for sure. ;)

I think Garrus will be a Paragon Spectre . Not all Spectres are renegades as Saren, and I don't see why he should die like Nihlus. My Shepard is Paragon, so I don't see what's wrong with being Paragon Spectre. Obviously depends on how you play, but isn't that Garrus is normally a Renegade character.
Garrus is basically a Paragon character, which is good for the people. He's a badass yes, but only against criminals. I don't think he is selfish or bastard. He couldn't become like Saren even for a bet! Image IPB
He has a strong sense of justice: like Spectre, he could accept assignments ensuring peace in the galaxy. The galaxy will always need help, even after the Reapers. Evil will exist forever, is the harsh law of life...Image IPB

I've always viewed Garrus as being on the fine line of paragade or renegon, with a slightly leaning toward renegon. I don't necessarily view paragon as being good and renegade as bad. Paragon Shepard might be big on second chances, and Garrus is definitely noticing how that can be a good thing, but in the end, I think he will always be a pragmatic sort which is more in the realm of renegade.

Agreed.
Incidentally, that is how I play the majority of my Shepards.

I don't get what's so bad about the Tali thread. I visit occassionally and it seems find apart from the odd freaky fetish guy.

But no more/less freaky fetish guys (or in this case, girls) than this thread.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. It probably wouldn't seem so strange if it wasn't a 8k page thread though. :?

It's used far too much as a chatroom for my liking. Also, I can have a deferring opinion rather easily on most character support threads. It is the default assumption on the Tali thread that 1) you couldn't possibly romance anyone else and 2) her story trumps all. I can't work with that.

ETA: Also, the larger the threads, the more likely someone is going to hit on a topic that's been talked to death before, and that usually gets met unfavorably on any forum, not just the Tali thread. Join in on page 1000 and ask about Garrus's age, people will sigh and think "not again." But you can't fault a new person for not being there for pages 1 - 999.

I hadn't noticed us or the Kaidan (or even Thane's) thread getting grumpy with newbies.  Course... I don't visit other threads, even if I do like all the characters.
