Oh, great...I'm finally awake when there is an actual conversation going on, and I feel too stupid to say anything XD

It's easy kglaser. All you have to do is say turians are awesome. That always works.

Oh, I can do that! :D

(But now I'm thinking, it certainly wouldn't hurt to brush up on my history lessons...!)

Another history major, eh? Or actual teacher?  In either case, awesome.

Yeah, despite all the heavy readings (I'm trudging through one reading at the moment). It's interesting in many ways.

And yes, KG, Garrus! :D

Kind of missed the days when Garrus pops in and shrinks back to the shadows of Omega, but it doesn't seem to be any for the last month or two (except for the FZT)

Didn't we even get the game salesman in here one time? hehe

And I didn't mean to derail the discussion guys, I was just being loopy :P
Please continue, it's interesting.

Well, if you have Netflix there are actually many nice documentaries you can stream on your Xbox.  I do that sometimes.

Nah, it's good! :D We can scream "FREE PIZZA AND WINE" so that Garrus comes clomping in here.

I don't have Netflix. I tend to watch the same movies over and over again, generally. But I wouldn't mind renting a documentary all the same.

No need to collate, it's already tagged as "Taetrus" on the CDN site. Go to http://www.cerberusd...taetrus&paged=7, start reading from the bottom, and then work your way forward via the "newer entries" links.

Thanks Cia, I can't see for looking sometimes.

My friend has the History channel since she has paid tv, and she tapes them for me :D
Engineering an Empire series is interesting (there are a few other ones too, but I'll give a list later when I get home)

Indeed Empires is good. If you can tolerate really, REALLY slow paced documentaries that are kind of old and don't do reenactments than anything by Ken Burns on American history is extremely informative. His Civil War series in particular is really nice.

OT: There's also this really interesting history documentary on Stonehenge rediscovered from the ABC channel. It's pretty cool, if you like archaelogical-detective documentaries.

I love ancient history. I know less than I should, though.

I know we have discussed it before, but we never really came to any conclusions. What kind of rights do you think a Terminus turian has in general turian society? You have to join the military to become a citizen but do you have to be born in general turian territory to join the military. Can a Terminus turian just show up on Palaven at age fifteen and join if he wants or is there more to it than that?

I know I love American history less than I should. I'm sorry, but it just bores me to death. /disclaimer: I am an American

(And, there's no turians in it, so...no.)

I felt the same until I got to college and had a REALLY good professor/advisor who taught American history. But I get you.

I should clarify that I like Southern history in particular.  Southern history is a little...well more interesting than general American history.

From what I interpret, Turians who colonised other planets and worlds are considered lower turian society. And often the farther away from Palaven, the more independence they gained. So it could depend on the colony. If the colony is independent enough, there could be the possibility of setting up their own little hierarchy, and I think they would serve the colony rather than Palaven.
