Huh, I do that all the time.  In fact, I have a sneaking suspicion that whenever I announce I am leaving everybody sighs in relief and all the interesting stuff happens again...so me saying "good night" has become a cue for something interesting to happen.

I kid.  I kid.:P

I've never read anything by Lovecraft, but I started to read the story because I recognized a few words like "Cossack." xD Then when I saw the rest... just like with Revelation, I read the scenes with Saren first.

I decided this actually happened in the game because like baby bear's porridge, its juuuust right Posted Image sweet, touching, romantic and with a hint of implied sexy time that doesn't ruin the tone, this is what we should have seen instead of that abrupt fade to black *sigh*.

I know. That's why I like it so much too. Every time I look at it I think "why didn't Bioware just do that." Skip the first ten seconds of Shep in the shower. Stick this on the end instead and bingo. Garrus romance is instantaneously put on pretty equal footing with all the others.

Night Andaius!! Time zones are crazy, I'm at work at the mo, sneaking peeks between data crunching. I love the hugs in that Raga.

 Wow, that's a very touching comic. I like it. I do agree I wish BioWare added a scene like that instead of quickly fade out without a decent closure to Garrus' romance arc.

You know it just occured to me.....why was shep shown showering anyway? What purpose did it serve besides having Shepard getting surprised by Garrus? If that was the only reason then Garrus could have easily  have surprised her like the others by simply walking in, so why the shower? Why so long too? She might as well have walked from any A to B in her room since there is no indication she showered anyway (fully clothed) Its one thing if she was in a towel or something but since that didn't happen there was no purpose to those first 10 seconds of set up.

Well, I think they did it to try to make the Garrus romance scene about as long as the others. I've suspected that for a long time, but never really said anything because it sounds uncharitable. I think content-wise the Garrus romance scene is the best so it seemed silly to complain about the shower when second by second I think our scene actually packs more punch. I have always been a little miffed about lack of any real kind of physicality in his scene, however. (Heck, when the game first came out some people argued that femshep and Garrus didn't actually have sex. That's a stretch, but you didn't see people even entertaining that idea with the other romances.) The other thing I wish is for 1 measly line of post romance dialog where he says he enjoyed it. If I had those two things I would be extremely happy.

I thought that scene with FemShep in the shower seemed unnecessary too, but the rest of Garrus' romance is so awesome that I really don't mind. I don't mind the lack of dialogue after the endgame either, but that's because I got one of the better lines. ("I haven't forgotten what we talked about.") I have no idea why different lines repeat for different people, but if I got the "Are we crazy to be thinking about this?" line instead, it wouldn't have fit well at all.

I think "I haven't forgotten" triggers if you come back and talk to Garrus again right after the first Reach and Flexibility bit. He says he's in the middle of some diagnostics but not to worry because he hasn't forgotten what you talked about. At least, that's the only context I've ever seen it in. Though, I will admit since getting on the forums I have heard of some weird stuff like Jane saying she can't ever get the Tali/Garrus dialog to fire. Maybe it's a PC version thing.

Yeah, that's the one. I know it comes from a conversation that already happened, but it just sounds like it works there. I've read that others got dialogue that made it sound like Shepard and Garrus hadn't spent the night yet. I was either lucky to get that dialogue (if I remember correctly, I think Alexine said she got that line once), or it's just a problem with certain games.

With me it's nothing. He talks about destroying the Collector base. Hmmm, did you destroy the base or keep it? I wonder if it has something to do with that.

I love the Garrus romance so much and that's why it’s so sad that I continue to spot injustices done to it. I better add "unnecessarily prolonged shower scene" to the list Posted Image

Yeah, I agree that they gave it filler to make it "look" fair time-wise; my guess is that they were hesitant with the romance because they weren't sure what to do with it. Tali (despite not being romancable in ME1)was designed to be a potential LI  unlike Garrus who was made with no intention of becoming a female romance so it was trickier to make him compatible when fans asked for his romance later. I accept that to a degree but really there shouldn't be this lack of contact and intimacy in ME3. Its not fair and its a poor excuse to say "well its to haaaaaaard to animate" seriously, the fans have come up with ways to show intimacy without it being complicated *see above art* it CAN be done.

To be fair, I also think they thought that 98% of fangirls would go for Thane and Jacob rather than Garrus. If they had anticipated this level of popularity I think they may have done more.

He says that line after he talks about the Collector base. Or do you mean the Collector base talk is the one that repeats?

MainShep saved the base. Actually, it wouldn't be surprising if it was related to that. Not many people seem to save the base. I think I also talked to him again right after the Collector base conversation, and didn't invite him up to the room until after. He still says the same line even after he got invited up a few times though.

The Collector base line doesn't repeat. He says that once. Then the next time I talk to him he repeats the "part of me still thinks we're crazy" dialog. I'm gonna run an experiment where I save the base and see what happens. I have a save right toward the end of the suicide mission so I should be able to set it up pretty easy.

Oh yes, JacobPosted Image If he was a race horse, Bioware would be bankrupt for betting on him LOL

Aside form the glaring problems already discussed, I think another problem with Jacob is that he got NO pre-ME2 marketing push or discussion. It was all "Thane" this and "Thane" that. On the old Thane thread someone observed how all the girls were ignoring Jacob and I stated it was because "we know Jack Crap about him." Everybody seemed to pretty much agree. Miranda got lots of attention compared to Jacob. Initial fan interest in Thane (and aliens by extension) due to good marketing+no interesting hook in-game early on for Jacob=insta-dud. And that's even IF femshep didn't sound like a cat in heat when talking to him.

"Suicide mission for science" playthroughs are fun. I did several of them a while back to help figure out who Shepard will catch and who will catch Shepard, but I saved the base every time and normally didn't wait past the credits. I did once though, and still got the same "I haven't forgotten what we talked about" dialogue. Good luck to you. :)

I just avoided talking to Jacob with MainShep. I was worried she would get trapped in a romance with him the way all of her lines sounded. On my MaleShep playthrough, I'll finally get to talk to him and see what the "just friends" dialogue sounds like.

On an utterly unrelated note, why are the Thane girls so insular? You'd think we'd have a lot in common what with our mutual attraction to sexy maliens.

Another problem with Jacob is a really unfortunate early use of the word "fraternization." Lot's of girls went "Oh crap! The Kaidan trap!" and ran away. However, Jacob says the exact same thing to dudeshep. It's not meant in a sexual way. He should have just said "informality" or something.

Yet another problem is a point in the first or second conversation where he is talking about leaving the Alliance. Your dialog options are something like: paragon: you look to be in top shape, neutral-I respect that you took a stand (but what Shep actually says is something more like "we have a lot in common") and renegade-they lost a good man.  I just sat and stared at the screen and thought "but I don't think any of that.  Why can't I just say I thought he was stupid for joining Cerberus.  That's what I really thought." Or else say "I"m glad you told me that" like you can with Mordin if you don't want to pass blatant judgement on his genophage work.

I have no idea. I'm a Thane fangirl myself but I sometimes just feel weird around there. :?
Don't think it's Thane fans in general, maybe just a few people?

I know.  I really, really like Thane, but I never really get to talk about him.
