Well, I did laugh about the clothes with a species of exasperated affection. I just add it to the Flux music and awkward solicitation. Garrus has no fashion sense at all except when it comes to sniper rifles. I can just imagine him going through his civilian clothes  trying to decide what to wear with him thinking "nope spaghetti stain, nope big hole in the arm, nope Rock Band shirt I got at a concert when I was 16." Poor guy. He really tried.

Reasons I believe the Garrus thread is best:

a) Most friendly. I've been to other threads and some of them give off the "fans of other characters are inferior/we are superior for being fans of this character" vibe that I've never seen here. This thread is welcoming to newbies & anyone can jump into the discussion.

B) Discussions. Other threads sometimes have chat room stuff that I don't like. If I want consistent, intelligent & friendly discussions, I go to the Garrus thread. Walls of texts ftw!

c) Active but not too hard to keep up with. Fun discussions, fun people, a welcoming atmosphere.

Here's a good explanation. Though it's still a pain in the ass

Cossack Urdnot? I have heard of the legendary Buddha but that's freaking genius. I may have to read his stuff.

@ You assorted Aussies

Do you guys have gamefly or the equivalent down there?  I didn't buy Red Dead.  I just rented it via Gamefly.

Not that I know of so far... Although I've heard some sort of rumours about renting games by some provider over here, but it slipped from my ear.

We do. When I was younger and lived in a larger suburbs, I borrowed games during holidays (and school times, lawls) from Video Ezy, Blockbuster and Civic Videos. I still think they rent out games (but I don't have an xbox 360) I don't know about online way of renting though.

On a completely different note, Inception
came out in France yesterday, and I went to see it. Frickin'
brilliant. I spent at least half the film almost literally at the edge
of my seat going "come on, come on!", "oh no!" "*gasp*", "oh crap..."
The plot is great, the pacing is great, the actors are great (except for
Marion Cotillard, but she's always bloody annoying), the ending is
maddeningly, yet simply great, the atmosphere, the music, the
visuals...just about everything is awesome. I used to hate Di Caprio
back when he was younger and everyone loved him (ugh, Titanic...../../../images/forum/emoticons/sick.png),
but age suits him really well, and there's less of a distraction from
his acting talent now that teenage girls don't go wild over him anymore.

I must also put in a word for Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I had no
idea who he was up to now, but I think I'm gonna go snoop for other
films he was in, because...well, ok, I have a weakness for cute lean
brunettes. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/love.png Don't judge meeeeeeeh!

I want to see it! D: Stupid uni has started again... and I am poor (ticket for a student is $15. Wut?)

Another thing about Garrus
thread. We seem to have WAY less memes than most other threads and more
actual discussion. Maybe that is just me though.

I really like that. Obviously I really like analyzing the crap out of things and I suck at writing memes.

I like it as well. It kind of interesting and maybe BW will listening to our analysis and theories and add them in ME3! :o

I"m a dork and I half but I had absolutely never heard of that movie before now, but it's got good reviews and it's sci-fi so I'll definitely go see it.

@J4N3_M3 I hope i didn't scare you away last time i was defending poor little Jacob in Thane thread?:innocent:

I can actually understand why Thane guys keep to themselves - it hard to mention him on forums without attracting usual "fish lips/useless in suicide mission" hate waves or standard booing on ME2 LI's.

So the morale is - i love Garrus thread for being one of the few remaining funny/not whiny/interesting character threads. Just keep it up ^_^

Here's my Bioware Social Site Survival Rules

#1 Do not go into general forums.

# 2 Do not go into general forums.

#3 If you are ever tempted to go into general forums please start a thread entitled "I love Zaeed" or "I hate Wrex."  This will remove all further temptation.

Seriously, character threads and discussion groups for the win.

I honestly don't find anything wrong with the general forums. I dunno, maybe I just got lucky and didn't come across any weird people/threads.

But yeah, I like lurking here. Everyone is so nice, and you always learn new things in this forum. And disagreeing with someone doesn't lead to flame wars, (which is probably why I was hesitant to join BW forums)

That's my problem with general forums. Every time I try to go there it seems like I either A) get attacked, B) inadvertently start a flame war, or C) get a bunch of people complaining about my spelling or minor semantical mistakes rather than actually discussing the topic at hand.

I've hesitantly been poking around in the DA2 forums for the last few days and so far things have gone well. *Fingers crossed*

Agreed. The general forums are a mess. Luckily the group in my signature, though, is a better place to discuss characters on neutral ground.

I also prefer the forum in my signature to the respective thread here on BSN.

Clan V group is also great.

I actually did notice the Garrus thread does have thread memes (mountain dew, liquid sugar, calibrations, fresh snow, cupcakes, zombie Garrus, etc) though - more so than the other threads. The great thing is that they're funny and not posted ad nauseum.

The general forums can be pretty nasty. There are a lot of trolls and people looking to upset. I saw the thread Raga may be talking about and people were acting like someone insulted their mothers.

On an utterly unrelated note, why are the Thane girls so insular? You'd think we'd have a lot in common what with our mutual attraction to sexy maliens.

I have no idea. I'm a Thane fangirl myself but I sometimes just feel weird around there. :?
Don't think it's Thane fans in general, maybe just a few people?

I like the Thane thread.  I mean this in a self-depriciating way when I say: Thane girls are emo, Garrus girls are drunk.

(I'm poking fun at myself, BTW.)

I poked my head into the DA2 forums once, but it seemed like angry fan raging over a cover, blurbs and some screencaps (complaining about this, complain about that) when I poked my head in.

I tried DA:O, but I found it far too long. Some parts were so boring, such as korcari wilds, the Mages' Tower for example. I liked long games from BW (Jade Empire was looong), but DA:O felt stretched on purpose.

Anyway, we should have a turian discussion... /getting derailed
