Oh, I wasn't trying to say you get grumpy with newbies. Most people on the support threads are very welcoming to newbies.

It's simply that often repeated topics will be met with some grumpiness. Not all the time, but I'll eventually see it in every forum if they've been around long enough not matter how nice the people on those forums usually are. Sometimes you just don't want to go over the Sidonis question again. Sometimes you don't want to talk about Jack's hair. Sometimes you don't want to talk about the genetics of Ardat-Yakshi. And sometimes people sigh and think "not again..."

Alright, here are the results of my first "for science" playthrough of the suicide mission:

I chose Thane first and Garrus second. Thane was in the left slot and Garrus was in the right.

Ah, so it is possible to get Garrus on the right. I can't tell you how often I reloaded trying to get that combination and it would never work. A simple reload wouldn't work either (based on other combination switches I've done), I had to stand right in front of the Human Reaper screaming "KILL ME ALREADY" so I could reload from a critical mission failure screen.

I snipped the part where you mention it, but hey, good to know that Hold the Line score in the suicide mission guide works like a charm.

I've read a few times on the forums that the squadmate who catches Shepard is in the second slot, so I hoped that would put him on the right, but it might be random and this was just luck that it worked out on my first try. Did you reload saves from before or after the squad selection screen? The save that I'm working with is towards the end of the biotic bubble scene, so if I had to reload, I would have needed to choose my team again. Maybe that would help? Unless you already tried that.

The guide is very helpful. I haven't seen those hold-the-line scores mentioned anywhere else. I probably wouldn't have been able to figure out why Miranda died this time without it.

Pick the Renegade option to get a discount at Marab's shop, and Shepard'll lie to him and say that his/her star charts are outdated. Marab'll make the above quip and give you a discount. At least, I think it went like that.

I like Marab, he's one of my favorite shopkeepers.

The turian weapon store owner (I always forget his name) is my favorite, but MainShep saved the Council... which means he was really nice to her. xD He won't like MaleShep very much, or at all.

It would definitely fit with the whole "Shepard becomes Saren" thing. My MainShep already has the rachni, the geth, and the krogan. She would rather be chased by Saren... a turian Spectre would be fine though. I don't think the Council would want another human Spectre so soon, but that's just my opinion.

wow. Never explored the Jacob romance. Seems only good parts are the end relationship options!

That's awesome. Were you trying to romance both of them, or just Jacob? Interesting that Jacob just broke up with Shepard too.

I've got a couple areas where I'll reload. First is before the biotic bubble sequence, the second is the autosave after you've killed the Human Reaper for the second time.

The best way that I can get two squadmate icons to switch places is to not only reload from the autosave, but to then get myself killed and then reload from the Critical Mission Failure screen. I don't think there's a way to switch the icons via the gibbed save editor, and if there is, I don't want to know about it. It's like putting up a tent all by myself without any instructions and then someone comes running up to me and says "hey, look, the instructions are sitting under the cooler here!"

The person who catches Shepard is in a particular order that I haven't figured out yet. It's not the squadmate whose icon is on the right, that's going to be who Shepard catches. It's not even the squadmate whose icon is on the left, because I've had Shepard catch and be caught by the same person. I've got a half made list so far, but I do know that Zaeed, Kasumi, Mordin, Samara, Tali, Miranda, Grunt, and Legion will all catch Shepard before Garrus does. But Garrus will catch Shepard before Jack and Thane. Because Thane is a dick and he never catches Shepard.

I actually like the idea of the Council sending a spectre to take in Shepard. And then there being a trial of some sort. It'd be really great to see Shepard's friends help her/him out.

Parts of it are actually good, but there are things that unsettle me or I didn't think was very good. Jacob is a bit too judgemental and he's over emotional about people trying to help him out with any emotional problems he might have. And the romance is, by Jacob's own admission, casual - or at the very least, less attached and involved than the other romances.

Only Jacob. I don't know why he mentioned Garrus because I hadn't even done Garrus' loyalty mission yet. It's like he doesn't like Garrus, or is jealous. Or both. Judging by what he says in his romance and if you're romancing both Garrus and Jacob at the same time.

Yeah, I don't know about the Kaidan or Thane threads, as I'm not a regular in those, but at least on the Garrus thread I can say we are not very hotheaded about questions being asked that've been asked several times already.  Heck, some of us regulars ask the same questions more than once--after a few hundred pages, a person can forget!

I think the only topic for which our patience wears very thin (or is nonexistent) is Mutant Babies ™. :sick:
