Also one of those ME2 salarians pulls a gun and Garrus says "Relax. Don't do something you'll regret."  But when warehouse workers in ME1 do the exact same thing and Shep talks them down he says "I never would have thought of that."  Granted he also says "Shooting people isn't always the answer" but I think he ONLY says that if you have Wrex with you implying he is the most renegade of the lot besides Wrex and most of the time is surprised you don't shoot them.  Dang ME1 and squaddies that won't make up their minds!

Yeah, he definitely says shooting is not always the answer if you have Wrex along. I've not tried with any other squaddie, but I can't see anybody else suggesting to shoot the workers except Wrex. I'm pretty sure Garrus was ranked just above Wrex on the Paragade meter anyway. The only doubt I have is regarding Ashley, but testing would involve either bringing her on Noveria instead of Liara or not Virmiring her, and I don't feel like doing any of those things.

I do agree that Garrus has taken a much less aggressive approach by ME2... which is actually somewhat odd if you went renegade with him in ME1, I think. Guess he wouldn't be much of an Archangel if he was a results at all costs kind of guy.

Hmm, you don't suppose that means we will get another equipment pack before Shadow Broker comes out do you?

judging by how they worked the Arc projector -> overloard -> then Aegis armor I doubt it. Since by the pics Aegis was completed at the same time as the Arc projector.

Well, they did show the M-5 pistol with a screenshot of Kasumi a few weeks back, so I can only hope that one is coming up soon. There's also rumors in the work that they're doing something to improve the Adept experience on Hardcore/Insanity. Curious about that one.

Hey all. Not 100% Garrus related, but it is a turian thing. More on topic here than the thread I usually visit. Enjoy!

The lights of the bar flickered faintly. There were few patrons this late in the day, as most of the embassy's were closed. A few people sat around a table unwinding, as well as a few solitary drinkers.

"I hear Udina grumbling something worrying the other day," a human said to is fellows. All were minor workers in the various nearby embassies.

A turian at the table snorted as he took a drink. "He's always complaining about something," he retorted.

"Very true, but this was different," the human replied. "He said that the human Spectre Shepard was back on the Citadel."

An asari set her glass down. "That's not news though. Most of the embassy's were in uproar that Commander Shepard had returned. As soon as he was back, there was reports of firefights in a warehouse, and a politician was attacked on the lower levels."

"You think he had something to do with that?"

An elcor nodded its head slowly. "Conspiratorially: I have seen some of the C-Sec reports, and it seems that he was involved."

Eyes widened around the table. "Joram Talid was very vocal about his distaste for humans. And there are rumors that when Shepard returned he was with Cerberus..."

"That's not what happened," a voice from another table called. The person at the table walked up and took a seat.

The turian looked over at him, before nodding. "And you know?"

"I was nearby when it happened," the newcomer said softly.

The asari leaned on her elbows, clearly interest in the conversation. "So what did happen?"

"I don't know why Shepard and his team were there," he answered. "But it was odd that they were following him, so I kept an eye out. I saw Talid extorting money from human businesses while spreading a very racist message."

The humans at the table shook their heads in disgust, while the turian looked shocked. "You saw this?"

"With my own eyes."

Still surprised, the turian embassy worker asked, "What happened next?"

"Someone tried to kill Talid out in the open. Shepard and his team chased them into a building," the storyteller continued. "Turns out, someone else on the Citadel had paid to have him killed.

I heard a couple of shots fired. When it was all said and done, the original attacker, a drell, was lead out, but not in cuffs," he added. "I found out later that the attacker was a young kid and that Shepard had stopped him from becoming a criminal and a killer. Seems he was trying to be like his father." Many of the people at the table winced.

"Shepard saved the kid from that," he finished. "Talid wasn't harmed."

The turian took a drink. "Know anything else about Shepard?"

"He stopped a criminal named Fade before that here on the Citadel," He replied. The visitor tensed. "I also know that Shepard and his team are going somewhere dangerous.

"That with no recognition or support, they are trying to do the right thing, and save lives." His head bowed. "Trying to save everyone, no matter how unworthy." He finished his drink and stood. "I need to leave."

"Thanks for the story," the human said as their guest stood to leave. "What's your name?"

He turned back to the table. "Doesn't matter," he said as he turned to leave. "I'm nobody important." The embassy workers watched the turian walk away, head bowed and shoulders slumped.

"Nobody important at all," Sidonis muttered to himself as he walked away, heading toward C-Sec.

A lot of that is probably the devs "averaging" Garrus so they can have a canon Garrus that kinda makes sense for everybody regardless of what you did in ME1.

And you do have to consider that whatever you did in ME1, he did also have two years to evolve on his own so I"m sure he would naturally have shifted some anyway.

Granted he also considers some renegade types as "good people" or "doing what's necessary." The question remains how does he classify the Shadow Broker?

most likely on a case by case basis. After all information he sells is a tool, just like a weapon can be used for good or ill. However the SB is said to keep balance in the galactic scene by never letting one power get a one up on the others. So it could be said while not a "nice guy" in the moral sense it is good in the overall sense as it keeps the greater peace.

Gonna have to disagree there. What's said about him is that he never seems to upset the balance (said by Anderson, iirc), not that he tries to keep a balance. All it means is that they could be better at covering his/her/their tracks than most.

As to Garrus using the SB. No. Garrus may use tactics and force, but he's too direct a person to use that kind of 'cloak and dagger' subterfuge. Also, as the SB tends to trade info for info as well, I just don't think Garrus'd take the risk of himself being put into a potential betrayal situation.

Like I said, I can see Garrus using the SB in a case by case basis. If the SB demand payment he doesn't like he wouldn't use it. However if the price is acceptable I think he would use it as a starting point. Just like how Shepard used the info the SB gave him in ME 1.

What could a woman do to put you in this state?

And when Septimus asks he if he just straighten up and act like a general Garrus says "It damn sure couldn't hurt."

Soooo I just got home from seeing Inception. Great movie! It's one of those movies that I want to see, think about, see again, think about some more... etc. Also, Leo DiCaprio really gets better looking with the years. lol.

Then I get home and see... new DLC being announced! w0000t! The long anticipated Liara DLC. Oh man, I can't wait... It will be great to have both Liara and Garrus by my side. I don't expect others than Shep and Liara to have dialogue, but I really hope there's something romance related in it. Like, telling Liara that I moved on or something.

One screenshot showed Shep, Liara, Garrus AND Tali. Will we be able to take 2 squaddies + Liara? Never mind, I'll go and check the BW site out. lol.

I missed so many pages here. xD I'll try to keep the comments short.

Is the Liara/Shadow Broker stuff DLC, an expansion, or do we not know yet? I really hope it's an expansion. :) I want to play it too!

And I'm sure half of you already know MainShep's decisions, but I'll repeat them anyway -

Sidonis: She let Garrus kill him the first chance she got. This was actually the easiest mission for her. Garrus is her friend and she supports revenge, so no question about it.

Zaeed: If he was in my game, MainShep would have gone after Vido no problem, for the same reasons she helped Garrus kill Sidonis. But if she could say whatever she wanted to after the mission, it would have gone something like this: "Why didn't you just tell me that was the plan? I would have gone along with it. There are two things you should really know about me by now. One, I support revenge. Two, you reminded me of Saren, and that gets an instant approval points bonus from me."

Too bad she doesn't get to do some of this stuff in-game, like Zaeed's loyalty mission and the one with Balak in ME1.

Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...

You want to know something really random and kinda funny? I read Mass Effect Revelation not so long ago and it has a pic of Saren on the front. The book was sitting on the table next to my computer as I was downloading music. Anyway, I'm waiting for the song "Hello Love" by Hank Snow (REALLY ole timey country singer) to load when I look down at the book and happen to notice how awesome looking Saren is. Then the song starts playing....

So now every time I hear "Hello Love" I think of Saren. It's about like associating Saren with Hank Williams. It's really funny. I busted out laughing when the song came on the other day and got a lot of weird looks.

I have to listen to this song now. xD

I'm surprised Garrus doesn't come with a little toy sniper rifle. xD So are those figurines only available online, or will they be in a store where I can buy them? Because if they'll be in stores, I'm adding them to my list of "must buy this."

That's great Nerjuna! Is that a Stetson? Garrus is definitely a Stetson guy.

And I don't think you have to worry about flame wars here. I've been hanging around Clan V since I delurked back in January and have yet to see one flame war. Some people have gotten their toes stepped on here and there but everybody is really good about either dropping something that gets too hot or coming to pretty civil compromises.

I don't think we have such a thing.  I've read the whole 2.0 thread, and been with the one that was just closed since page 162 or so, and we never got close to a REAL flame war.  Of course, now I have just jinxed us, so I shall return to frantically reading the 4 zillion pages you guys posted in my absence. :P

Another thing about Garrus thread. We seem to have WAY less memes than most other threads and more actual discussion. Maybe that is just me though.

No, it's not just you.  This is comparitively dense discussion, and it takes a while to read it all, believe me. ;)
I like that we can have substance here and it never gets really dull, and we can still be silly.  Very, very silly. :wizard:

Ragabul said:
Garrus:   I remember this one mission. We were about to go up against a batarian pirate squad. Very risky. *starts pacing*

Shepard: *distractedly*  Yea, um pirates  *looks at leg spurs*   Risky...

Garrus: *stops, crosses arms*   Shepard!

Shep: *looks up all confused and glaze-eyed*   Huh, what?

Garrus: My eyes are up here!

He would have had to say that to me an awful lot if I was in the game, especially if he realized how much time I spent staring at the back of his waist and his fringe in the elevator in the first game. :P
And Nihlus was definitely hot.  And I agree that Sidonis was too.  I also liked his outfit.
