BioWare is really in a lose-lose situation here, aren't they?

I admit when I heard about the DLC, I was tempted to start a another character for Liara in ME1, then "cheat" with Garrus in ME2.  But my pessimistic side thinks that'd just be a waste of time.

eta:  I don't think any ME1 LI resolutions are going to occur in DLC.  And I, for one, am perfectly okay with that since I think they'd do them more justice in ME3.

I think BioWare can get away with this okay if they stick a line in from Liara where she says basically, "Look, let's deal with the Shadow Broker before we talk about stuff between us, okay?"

My Insanity game is being run by my Vanguard. (Her reward is Garrus, again.) I disagree that she rarely uses biotics. Charge is the most awesome ability ever. I may have to take the Colossus on Haestrom on that way. No vids, though, I have a 360. It takes planning and strategy to effectively use biotics in the higher levels of game play. Especially since you're not given a lot of ammo clips.

My Adept absolutely cleans house on Hardcore.

I have seen that, and Shock waves isn't so brutal on husks on hardcore and up, they all have armor, so it's no Husk bowling anymore......

I have yet to do a Hardcore playthrough.  It's the rare game I do that on.  For one, I hear the AI makes the squaddies useless on higher difficulty levels and I like to go out of my way to accomodate friendly AI.  Creates an illusion of team dynamic so a lot of times I intentionally use cryo or something just so Garrus can snipe or I wait for Mordin to take out armor before I start firing.  It's silly but it's fun.

The problem with playing Vanguard on the higher levels is that you absolutely have to play crazy. You HAVE to keep your shields up, so Charge becomes your best friend.

I don't think they can do it justice in ME3.  There is just too much content.  To get it all in, I think some things would have to be watered down.  It's arguable that having six squaddies in ME2 watered things down.  The squaddies are very nice, but each one has considerably less content than LIs in previous Bioware games.  Granted what content is there is very good, but in ME3 they have to squeeze three more LIs plus countless scenarios of who cheated on who, who got Virmired, and so on.  It's nightmarish.

Well on higher difficulties you pretty much MUST have other biotics in yoru team if you want to clean up using Biotics. You really have to pull off the Warp explosion combos if you want to do damage. Since if your only doign it solo you can save time by actually just shooting them down then using biotics.  SMGS have so much ammo you can shoot it all day and as long as you pic up soem clips everyonce in a whiel you'll be right up there at full ammo again in just a few pickups.

I love playing sentinel and adept. I love the Energy drain. It's great. Draining Energy and then only two or three well placed shots just equal awesomeness. Miss my singularity though.

I have watched many walkthrough videos lately and often wonderes why so many of them don't use the team skills. they mostly go alone up against the enemy. kinda weird.

I combine it all, change their weapons according to what I think are best for them and use their skills wherever I need them. I love having Overload as sentinel.

Squaddies aren't useless, but mistakes are brutal. Increased damage means that if they diside to play stupid and get out of cover to do a commando standing on top of a box instead of behind it they will get cut down pretty fast. Using orders helps tons.  I almost always order the use of powers. I only let them do there "AI thang" when fightign a smaller group of basic enemies. ^_^

I don't think it's possible to survive that.....Does the Praetorian recharge it's barrier everythime it uses the "melee" ranged attack?

i was very lucky, what can i say

but i got myself in the corner and had to get out somewhere before praetorian would eat me

so that was the only way to save my ass

that's why i love vanguard to death

edit: and i believe he recharges his shields only when his barrier and some amount of armor go down

You do have a point about the mountain of content they have to address in ME3.  But unless this DLC sets a new precedent, I just don't see them creating separate content for the romances, in between games, that will carry over to ME3.  Not without p!ssing a lot of people off anyway.  Posted Image

Would putting romance content in DLC really ****** that many people off? Some no doubt. I'd like to see some actual statistics on who does and doesn't download DLC. I'm betting 90%+ of diehards do and by diehards I mean "anybody who bothers to import saves from one game to the next."

So I just booked a trip to Vegas for next month, which reminded me...  Did anyone else think that Garrus was totally hinting at Shep in ME1 when he said, "If you like gambling, we should check out Flux."  (paraphrasing)  I can't help but picture him as a total slot junkie.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.  Posted Image

Yea, but it's just a little block in eastern Europe isn't it? (Not trying to be offensive.) And was that a "you've never ever gonna get it" or a "it'll be much later than other places." And there is still that scenario I described earlier about assumption of decision in ME3. If people were aware of that scenario going into ME3, they could still set the romances how they wanted, DLC or no DLC. Though it might mean they had to replay the games.

Well, there's the people who don't bother with DLC, then there are those who are unable to download it (no Xbox Live, etc.).  And, unless they included content for every LI, you'd have to add those who feel slighted that their LI wasn't represented.

All in all, a minority of fans.  But most likely a very vocal one.  Posted Image

Huh, this would be really funny.
