I wasn't saying Garrus was okay with his father blocking his Spectre training. I just don't think he held a grudge against him for it. Or if he did, he does a very good job at hiding it. :) He doesn't believe his father's idea about Spectres at all, so there probably was a certain amount of testing his father's logic going on there.

On a related topic, I don't think Garrus' father will like MainShep at all. Actually, she seems to be everything he hates. Spectre, Renegaded Garrus, idolizes Saren, couldn't care less about rules most of the time...

Ah, I see what you mean. "Grudge" was perhaps too strong a word on my part. I just think that particular moment or decision was a very central and important one for Garrus.  If nothing else, it might represent a moment where he finally says "I can't always do what my father wants. I have to try this even if it disappoints him." I think he even says in ME1 "It'll probably kill my father, but I have to try."
It also kind of explains a little of why he is so conflicted to begin with and responds so much to a strong guiding figure. If he did have a real grudge, he wouldn't need Shepard to talk him through it. He'd just do the opposite of what his father wants for spite.  I've said before that he and his father probably have strong similar opinions about eliminating scum. They just have very different views on how said scum should be eliminated.
Papa V would love my paragon shep. But sadly that Shep's canon LI is Thane. However, I did another playthrough with her where she romanced Garrus just so I can see what a pure paragon Garrus does in ME2. Paragade mainshep is in the middle. She romanced Garrus-lets him kill Saleon, but spares Sidonis. Don't know what Papa V would think of her. He'd hate dudeshep who is the pro revenge Shep who completely renegaded Garrus.

I agree. The main difference between Garrus and his father is probably that his father follows all the rules, and Garrus feels like the rules just get in the way sometimes, like with Saleon. I don't think Garrus' father would like my MainShep encouraging that side of him. MainShep would probably get along with your pro-revenge dudeshep though, at least about Garrus. xD

I think Garrus and Tali will probably be back in ME3, at least I hope so. They're two of my favorites as well.

Garrus & Tali are my favorites. Garrus alone would be enough for me to play ME3 if he's done justice.

I hope all of them either come back as squadmates, or have another important role in ME3. (I'd like to see Wrex get a krogan army to help us.) Even the characters I don't like. Everyone's favorites should be back for ME3.

I agree. I think it's reasonable to expect the LIs back. They are fan favorites. I do love other characters like Mordin, but the fans themselves probably place higher priorities on the love interests - so I would expect the same from Bioware.

Indeed, I expect minimum that all the LI will return. I think however most if not all of the Squad will return in ME 3. With perhaps, Zaeed, Kasumi, and Samara leaving to be replaced by Ash/kaiden, Liara, and maybe maybe wrex. I however have gotten attached to the DLC squad mates too. I want everyone to return!

I agree. Not to mention most of the non-LI characters could have reasonably good explanations for going off and doing their own thing or not being around. Grunt's the only non-LI person I don't see going anywhere. But even he could find something to do on Tuchanka I bet.

Huh, depends on what kind of Garrus you want.  My paragade is a Colonist/Torfan femshep so she hates batarians and understands revenge.  She's great for renegade Garrus.  My paragon is Colonist/Sole Survivor so the horrible things she has seen give her a deep appreciation for life and how fragile it is.  She's great for paragoning Garrus.  You can make just about anything fly.

Might be a while Epoch, Garrus thread is slower then the Tali one. IS this going to be ME 2 new game start or a ME 1 history start?

My paragade really tries not to hate batarians and fails miserably.  I know you probably don't have Bring Down the SKy but there is a REALLY satisfying part in there where you walk in and see the batarians and Shep says "Batarians...." with hate just oozing out of her voice.  It fits that paragade of mine like a glove.  I love that part.  Also, when Garrus qualifies about the batarian in his squad "My tech expert was a batarian believe it or not," I almost get the feeling he is defending the guy from her because he knows how much she hates them.  She also really hates Saren at first because she likens the attack on Eden Prime to the one on Mindoir but when she finds out about his reasons, she starts to admire him.  She really admires him for being gutsy enough to end it in the end with his pistol.  There two things she hates more than anything.  One's a coward.  The other's a gloryhound.  So Saren being brave really impressed her.

I know, if only MainShep could go after Balak... but no DLC for me. xD That moment and Zaeed's loyalty mission (where she would also go Renegade) are the two that I miss out on the most with her story.

My MainShep always liked Saren, and totally idolized him. (At least, I assume Saren is sort of well known. A lot of people seem to have heard of him.) When she found out about his past, she could really relate to it. She tried so hard to save him in the end too... Poor MainShep feels like she failed. And she really hates Sovereign now, but she bought the model ship anyway. Painful reminder, right there in her room.

The Platinum Edition of Mass Effect comes with Bring Down the Sky for free, I think. The mission does start on an asteroid.

...I just had to buy the used copy. xD The next store I checked (actually, the only store I didn't check before) had some new. It was probably the Platinum Edition.

Edit: Wait, do you mean it was just free to download, and not on the disk?
