The Platinum Edition of Mass Effect comes with Bring Down the Sky for free, I think. The mission does start on an asteroid.

...I just had to buy the used copy. xD The next store I checked (actually, the only store I didn't check before) had some new. It was probably the Platinum Edition.

Edit: Wait, do you mean it was just free to download, and not on the disk?

I'm not sure. I bought an earlier edition so I had to buy Bring Down the Sky seperate.

Whats the one called with the apartment, and training room? Thats the one I don't have.

Pinnacle Station. I heard it was terrible.

Yea, you are not missing anything by not having Pinnacle Station. Whenever I do ME1 runs I don't even bother with it anymore. It's just a few hours of grinding. If I wanted that, I'd play WOW. I'm not THAT hard up for levels.

Also hmmm, did we ever have anything carried over from BDtS? It has a flag to carry over I think.

If you save the hostages you get an email from the survivors.  If you don't than there is a news report on the Citadel that references a prayer vigil held on the anniversary of the attack by the father of one of the victims.

I am glad that Bioware improved their DLCs. I'm expecting quality from the Shadowbroker one. Hopefully we'll get some banter but I'll be buying the DLC regardless. Plus I get to bring a couple squaddies along anyway. Have Garrus scoping and droppin' fools.

I can't find anything that will tell me if the DLC is included. Too bad. But I was seriously considering buying another copy of ME1 for it. ($20 DLC? xD) It would be nice if they did eventually release the DLCs with the game though.

http://masseffect.wi...oadable_Content <-- Says that BDtS is for free on the PC or on 360 platinum edition versions.

It's possible, then, that they may release an edition of ME2 later on that has most/all of the DLC.

That seems like a reasonable expectation. Especially because they seemed to genuinely regret not being able to release DLC in eastern Europe. I wouldn't be surprised if they released some kind of special three part pack at the end of all this. Such a thing might have the DLC in it.

That's awesome. :D "Included with" should mean I don't have to download it. I wouldn't mind buying the games on release date and then buying them again a year later for the DLC.

...Please, BioWare?

I wonder what they will do in regards to DLC and those who did not get them, yet imported their save into ME3. Does the game pretend or act like the DLC never happened? Does the game assume a "default" choice?

If the latter, this is what I expect:

1. Kasumi: Graybox destroyed

2. Zaeed: Killed Vido

3. Overlord: Project discontinued

To reduce the amount of loose ends.

Who knows what the end mission choice for the Shadowbroker is. Maybe spare/kill?

That looks liek how they handled it with the no ME 1 import. They pick a "canon" storyline and thats the way it will be for the stuff you don't have.
So explect a new game ME 3 character to haev the "canon" ME 2 background story picks.  Also, They seem to be goign wiht Renegade choices so far. s oyour first two picks seem right. Is renegade overlord continue the project?

Actually, I would think that the default for Zaeed and Kasumi will probably be Shepard not recruiting them. But I would be fine with the default being "killed Vido" for my MainShep. She would do the opposite of the other two. It would seem kind of weird though...

Zaeed: ...when you helped me kill Vido.
MainShep: What? I mean, that's what I would do, but when did this happen?

@Andaius: "Knights of the Nine" bundle pack? Has BioWare released DLCs on disc before?

That's true Kim. Those are some good points. though, I imagine Zaeed could possibly still refer to Shepard not helping him and Vido still being at large.

Hey, real quick- can anyone help me please? Old thread is HUGe and I can't find the parody someone posted of a bunch of guys from C-Sec playing Galaxy of fantasy. Anyone remember who wrote it, or have it stashed away somewhere by chance? If anyone does, you're my hero!!

Not that I know of, I was just referanceing what bethsoft did wiht it's Oblivion DLC's.
Also Kim first time players, starting at ME 2 would have lots of tha tanyway would they? So first time players starting wiht ME 3 wouldn't mind that right?
Shep doesn't suspect a thing....

All that stuff about default decisions being "neutral" is a load of bollicks anyway.  For one, the neutral option on the Rachni queen was to let her leave.  Killing her being default is totally renegade.  Default Shepard is not not neutral.  Not that it matters as I import my Sheps.   I just pity any paragons who don't have DLC and get stuck with lots of supposedly "neutral" options.

If they insisted on making him an NPC in ME3 that is one of the few kinds of roles I would consider sufficient.

Seconded, although I really can't see them doing that.

If they want Zaeed and Kasumi to be squadmates in ME3, they could just give them a quick introduction and say that they were hired by Cerberus for the people who didn't download them. Then I guess they could say that they took care of their own missions before they met Shepard. Zaeed could have killed Vido. If they want Kasumi's graybox to be important (for those who saved it), they could say that Kasumi found a way to get it back on her own. For Overlord... no idea, I guess all of the facilities would have been destroyed without Shepard. Maybe they won't reference it at all. The Shadow Broker decision will probably be important though, unless Liara just kills him on her own in the default.

I'd still like to play through all of this stuff though. :)

@Andaius: I was talking about an imported Shepard with default decisions on the DLC. I can imagine how confusing ME2 or ME3 would be to someone who didn't play the games before it though.

I think they intended default Shepard to have choices that would reduce the amount of loose ends or references that new players could not understand (or as easily understand) or could not really appreciate.
Being told by Wrex that Shepard is his friend is going to make more sense and be more appreciated by returning players, for example.

I hope all of them either come back as squadmates, or have another important role in ME3. (I'd like to see Wrex get a krogan army to help us.) Even the characters I don't like. Everyone's favorites should be back for ME3.

I support this...I actually want to give some of my less-favorite characters (from both games) another chance, both through repeated playings of the existing games and, if possible, the third.  I mean, I have definite opinions about who I like more and less, but I'm willing to give some characters another shot to see that side of them that their fans see.
Does that make sense at all?

That makes sense, but I still kinda resent it.  Just like I kinda resent iconic Shep.  It creates an illusory canon.  I know it's just marketing and adapting the game to new players, but it still bugs me.  I get it.  Doesn't mean I like it.
