Man, I have nightmare about that thing.  And some fond memories.  My last computer died when I was a senior in college in my last semester taking senior seminar and I couldn't afford a new one so I had to write my senior sem paper on my PS3.  30+ page history paper using original source documents....it was a nightmare.  I wonder if anybody else has ever done that.

Something that'd be cool to see in ME3...

Garrus's dear old Aunt as a flag officer in the Hierarchy Navy. She'd be involved in getting the Turians on board.

We'd get to see another squaddie's family, and also get to see some more personal history behind Garrus (like getting chastized for quitting C-Sec after her bro/Garrus's dad told her) probably get disapproved of if playing FemShep and in a romance, and also finally get to see what a female turian looks like.

In keeping with the typically smoky and/or deep VAs they have for turians, they could have Kate Mulgrew do the voice; she's already Flemeth in DA:O, and it seems a lot of VAs work back and forth a lot between the two franchises.

Yes, I wholeheartedly endorse meeting Garrus' family in pretty much any capacity. Dad, sister, brother, dear old aunt, whoever. Bonus points for finally getting an indepth in-game look at turian culture. This is win.

Turians- would you describe the 'digits' on their hands as fingers tipped with talons or as merely talons? I've read it both ways. I like to say fingers unless I specifically mean the talons just as we would say fingernails versus fingers.



And, please, let's meet the family in some context-- and learn more about the different colonies and outposts whose insignias we found in ME1.

It took me a minute to figure out where all everyone's body parts were in that picture. LOL

And Aricle, I always thought of it as talon-tipped fingers.  Don't know why I thought that, though....

I think it's fingers tipped with talons too.  There is an image in ME1 where Saren grabs Benezia right after Eden Prime.  It's the only close-up I know of of a turian without gloves but I can't recall what his hands looked like precisely.

Whereas his fingers might curl around the trigger of a gun or another's hand? I wonder about this for we touch things with our fingertips for differentiating textures/temperature etc. How do turians do this, or is it just not part of their physiology, do they sense or smell heat, as an example?

From the sound of how Alenko described how things escalated with his dickish Brain Camp instructor, I'm thinking the talons are retractable like cats' claws.

Umm, I think Vyrnnus pulled an actual knife on Alenko. I don't think he meant the turian's claws. He says "a military issue Talon, right in my face." I think he means some specific type of formidable knife the army hands out that is called a talon or else talon is just some kind of future military slang for knife.

I think they would touch with their fingertips if they specifically wanted to feel something.  I think the claws are like our fingernails.  Sensitive to pressure but that's about it.  However, I an see them being quite dexterous with their claws.  Wouldn't surprise me if they use them to push buttons, hook their key ring, that kind of thing.  This is one reason I think they wear gloves so often.  The Cerberus News once referenced a turian accidentally nicking a human and severing his carotid artery.  Gloves would prevent that kind of accident and kind of imply they use their talons for a lot of tactile things.  I bet they use them as tools as well for cutting or whatever.

Yeah, that's what I assumed. The idea that Vyrnnus had his hands/talons certified by the military is pretty cool though...

I'm not willing to trust Saren as a reliable image of a typical turian in any respect.  He's been heavily modded and already has some very recognizable differences (those horn things on his head, thicker waist, etc.), so his talons/fingers might well be different, too.

Yeah, that's what I assumed. The idea that Vyrnnus had his hands/talons certified by the military is pretty cool though...


It would also make it all the more impressive that Kaidan was able to take him down.

Well in that case, we can't really even certify if they have talons as he is the only turian I know of that we ever see in-game without gloves.  There is the Cerberus Daily News reference I suppose.  If we can't use Saren as a model than we know pretty much nothing on this topic.
