I'm in the "female turians don't have leg spurs at all" camp.

I like that idea Raga.  Does that make the spurs an erogenous zone for male turians?Posted Image

It could make sitting at a table at a restaurant very interesting.

Rejected Jack... that Shepard would need to hide behind biotic barriers and tech shields. Rejected Tali would be sad, probably even more heartbroken than Garrus. But these things won't happen in my playthroughs. :) The Shepards I planned out for cheating playthroughs are Kaidan/Jacob, Ashley/Miranda, and Liara/Miranda/Morinth (well, Morinth might not count since she technically won't be romanced - EvilShep is crazy, but not that much).

I never thought about the differences between male and female turians' legs and feet. I just assumed they would be the same. I think the main differences are probably fringe, that neck collar, height, and shape of the waist/hips.

Oh good lord, I wasn't, couldn't, didn't....... think that!!

I am known to enjoy a bit of smut but my "imagination" has limits.......

There's no hind claw. I never considered this but maybe the turian spur is an evolutionary development from the hind claw, I could believe that.

My cheaters are Kaidan/Garrus and Liara/Tali. Garrus and Tali are definitely getting picked, but I have a pure Garrus playthrough as well. No pure Tali yet. I need to get round to that.

My take on female turian is basically: no leg spurs, smaller fringe, wider waist, hips about even with shoulders, no boobs, shorter, higher voice. Other than that I think they are almost indistinguishable from the males.

What biological function does a fringe serve anyway? I know we have hair on our heads because we loose most of our heat through the top of our heads, or that's what I've heard anyway. Figure it's something like that? I've also read fic where turians could move their fringe a bit, sort of splay it out like Legion does his face? in order to emphasize emotions. There is no evidence of that in game but it seems like an interesting idea. Lot's of fics seem to think fringe is erogenous as well.

I could also see the spur being the third toe.  In that case, females would probably have one.  Maybe it would just be much smaller?

Personally I go with the bigger fringe on the female, but finer facial features, no boobs and smaller in frame. I've been thinking about the waist thing, initially I thought thinner than the male, but you could easily go either way, I'm doubting my own speculations!

I could see bigger fringe on the female.  In fact, I think I like that more.  As for the waist, I was just thinking that much thinner would start making pregnancy problematic, unless turian fetuses are really tiny.

I don't really have an idea of what I think they'll look like, except that the things I mentioned will probably be different from the males. I think they'll be shorter and smaller, but that's it. Possibly wider waist/hips because the males' are already so small. Originally, I thought they would have longer fringe... and then I tried to imagine fringe longer than Saren's. That's a lot of fringe.

But you are forgetting the Associative Fringe Property which states that the length of a turian's fringe is directly proportional to the awesomeness of the turian in question.  By that logic, nobody could have a longer fringe than Saren.

And liberal use of the meaning of associative I admit.

I noticed in Garrus' recruitment mission that part of his face/head seems to serve the function of "eyebrows."

Then the length of female turians' fringes must vary according to their awesomeness, because this theory must be true. :D

I can just imagine young MainShep trying to compliment fringe. If Garrus only knew, he would not have to be embarrassed at all about his lack of knowledge about human compliments.

So far as Garrus & Tali not mentioning the ME1 love interests, I don't think it's actually that they didn't know or did know but didn't want to talk about it. Just a game limitation, really. I mean you could Virmire your LI in ME1 and the game acts like you never had a romance.

Yes, the plates above his eyes do shift.  Generally when he is surprised or when he is craning with a "what's that WAAYYYY over there?" look.

Yea, I think this as well.  It's just a very noticeable limitation.

I've been lurking in the Liara thread after DLC announcement so see what the experts thought and just found out about this. The Liara fan group is by invitation only? Yikes, I did not know that. Isn't that kinda...well limiting their potential fanbase?

And yea, very off topic I know.

And again, three posts is my obsessive limit.

I think turian females would have a thicker waist/hip area, actually, considering that, as has been mentioned, they would need more room for childbearing purposes. Since male turians have very thin waists already, any thinner would probably be unrealistic. Plus, Garrus seems to appreciate the fact that Shep has a supportive waist: since it's thicker than his, you could assume that turians value wider waists in their females.

Plus, it would make for a nice change of pace to have a species which don't follow the "thin-waisted females" stereotype. Couple that with no boobs, and it makes for an inventive approach.

Concerning Garrus' convo with Tali and whether he meant to be flirty or not: what he says isn't flirty, but I agree that BK's voice slips into the flirty range extremely easily. Cf. "But please, it's just Garrus to you" which sounds flirty when spoken to a FemShep. However, even if both those comments were instances of him being flirty it could also be interpreted like this: when there's no actual intent behind the words, being flirty is easy. It's like a joke. But when he realizes that FemShep is actually entertaining the idea of being with him as more than a joke, out goes the easy banter and in comes the "oh wow, she's actually serious...ogodogod whatdoidonow?!" awkwardness.

And yes, the plates above Garrus' eyes do move a bit like eyebrows would. It's just less noticeable since they're obviously more rigid.

Right, I don't think the flirtiness with Tali is serious. I think he is just doing it to mess with her, and he knows she won't take it seriously. That's what I mean. I think the same thing about his "some women find facial scars attractive" thing. I don't think it's flirty in the sense that he is showing active interest. I just think "friendly, mess with my female friends" flirting is part of new ****ier, bad-ass Garrus. Hence, why he does get all nervous when the flirting is no longer just for fun.

On another note, are you basically saying that Keener's voice oozes sexiness and he can't even help it? Cause that's a theory I could buy. LOL

Sigh,  ****ier is censored?  Really Bioware?

Some amount of the ME1 LI fanbase feels alienated, discriminated (lol), or otherwise singled out by Bioware. Some of them feel that the ME2 LIs replaced the ME1 LIs. The ME1 LI fanbase is more likely to believe that none of the squad mates from ME2 will return in ME3 (and they of course base this on the treatment of the A/K/L) or that they shouldn't return.

I noticed the most bitterness from the Liara fanbase, and at least a couple of them actively tried to kill as much of the squad as possible in ME2. The most bitter, are, of course, the minority.

To tie this in with Garrus, it appears that Garrus is least popular among the Liara fanbase.

Huh, I was thinking the Liara thread was really mellow compared to all the horror stories I have heard so maybe it is actually better that the more militant people have retreated from the actual thread.

Yea, his face is a little off. I just like it because it's one of the few involving sheets. Most have him in the fish tank vicinity. I have better ones than that, but I tend to post the crap out of them so I was fishing for something I hadn't posted left and right and center.

Wasn't there a lot of Liara bashers as well? I think they are quite closed off group because there has been civil war over there a few times (from what I heard). I do agree with Collider that they are really disliking other ME2 characters, especially Garrus because Liara got only a comic while Garrus managed to make the cut into ME2.

I take that the some ME1 fans have felt that they were singled out and therefore feel the need to "band together" - that may be part of having a rather exclusive group.
