I think Garrus mentioned in ME1 that when he resigned C-Sec, his father was "taking his resignation hard". So that's how we know there's a Papa V who is still alive somehow.
But how did Papa V nickname came about, btw?

I know this is OT so I apologize in advance. Tell me honestly guys, did you guys dislike Jacob on your first playthrough? Do you remember what your opinion of him was the first time? Cause I don't really remember much. I remember being put out by femshep's tone and I remember getting a little panicky over the word "fraternization." I also remember really admiring the guy on his LM because he is the only squaddie who doesn't shoot of his own volition. All the others: Garrus, Mordin, Miranda, Jack, you have to talk down. Jacob makes the paragon choice all on his lonesome. I remember pre-release I actually thought the guy looked mildly interesting. I was more interested in Thane however. I'm just wondering how much the Jacob hate groupthink has infected people. Even if you found him somewhat distasteful, did that distaste increase once you got on the forums? How many of you have gone through a Jacob romance? Was your first knowledge of what the romance contained from forum posts and youtube vids? I remember thinking he was boring and not someone I wanted to romance, but I don't think I started actively disliking him until I got on the forums.

Also in my (not so humble) opinion the Garrus romance kicks Jacob's romance's butt and steals its lunch money.

I think my favorite ME2 Garrus line is "You know what else is bad for business? A broken neck!"

I'm not sure if I have a favorite Garrus line. I like a lot of them, so I never chose a favorite. Same with Saren's lines.
I haven't heard Garrus' line if he shoots Sidonis after listening to him, but I've read about it and I assume it'll be one of my many favorites. MaleShep will get that line whenever he reaches Garrus' loyalty mission... and ME2. MainShep let Garrus shoot Sidonis the first chance she had. At that point, I didn't even know it was possible to let him talk and still shoot him.

So I didn't manage to find that banner I was looking for...but I did find a LOT of hate for the Tali/Kal idea. Some from hardline Talimancers who were going "ZOMFG, Tali can't be with ANYbody but Shepard!!!!111oneone!!!"
Others who were going "NOWAI, Kal needs to be an LI option for FemShep ONRY!"
And other people who were going "so because a guy and a girl talk to each other, that means they want to maek bebiz?"

And lol, I can just imagine Garrus' head exploding if Shep hugged him then. But just a slightly more lingering touch on his arm, a bit like what she does when she says "I don't want to pressure you" during the second romance convo, that would've been better. The pat is just so dismissive. Kind of like "meh, you'll be ok".

My first impression of Jacob was, "He's pretty cute, actually!"
Then when I found out he was romanceable, I started the romance because I remembered ME1 and that we only had 2 choices and 1 wasn't even a man. So I figured, "I better take a romance wherever they offer it to me!"
And the beginning of the romance was actually quite good, in my opionion. Not too fast, seemed pretty natural...I only got up to the part where he kisses you on the cheek (or vice-versa...can't remember) and then I found out I could romance Thane and I was like, "Oh, that's MUCH more interesting than a human romance! Bye Jacob!"etc.etc.
IMHO the Jacob romance didn't go off the rails until later. Also in my (not so humble) opinion the Garrus romance kicks Jacob's romance's butt and steals its lunch money.

Yeah, it was. In ME1, you have your squaddies discuss the Rachni Queen's fate on Noveria. You need to bring Wrex/Garrus with you for it to work.

I recently discovered that some people have deliberately killed Kal'Reegar on all their playthroughs so he can never be with Tali. And then were also some people who made sure Jacob didn't survive the suicide mission so he couldn't "steal" Miranda or Kasumi from their Shepards.
But the Creepiest Creep On The Internet Award goes to the people who deliberately got Tali exiled so she wouldn't have anywhere to go but the Normandy and she would have to stay with Shepard forever omg omg why do these people exist whyyyyyyyyy

Well, the second group has a somewhat valid reason to be upset. Shepard was dead for two years. Being with "Plenty of guys" within the span of only two years makes Tali seem a bit ****ty.Nilfalasiel wrote...
Oh dear god. Then again, those threads I was browsing also had these two specimens:
-People who thought Tali had to have been with "plenty of guys" since Shepard's death.
and, replying to them
-People who were shocked and mortified at the thought that Tali might NOT be a virgin.
The first group obviously didn't quite grasp the concept of quarian biology. And the second group makes me want to back off veeeeeeeeeeery slowly towards the nearest door.her.
