I'm not sure of what are they doing, but... it's Garrus and Kal'Reegar doing something to Shep!!

I bet this is the SFW version. Ehm.

I think Garrus mentioned in ME1 that when he resigned C-Sec, his father was "taking his resignation hard". So that's how we know there's a Papa V who is still alive somehow.
But how did Papa V nickname came about, btw?

Also, when you renegade him in ME1 and when he remarks that he's going to reapply for Spectre training, he says that "it'll probably kill my father" IIRC. So yeah, I'm pretty sure Papa V is still alive and kickin'.

As for the nickname, it started a long long time ago... and it sounds cool, so it sticks :D

You know, the funny thing is that I've never tried to renegade Garrus on any of my playthrough, even through my renegade femshep playthrough. I feel like he's so naive at times that that FemShep had to go renegon, just for Garrus.

I know this is OT so I apologize in advance. Tell me honestly guys, did you guys dislike Jacob on your first playthrough? Do you remember what your opinion of him was the first time? Cause I don't really remember much. I remember being put out by femshep's tone and I remember getting a little panicky over the word "fraternization." I also remember really admiring the guy on his LM because he is the only squaddie who doesn't shoot of his own volition. All the others: Garrus, Mordin, Miranda, Jack, you have to talk down. Jacob makes the paragon choice all on his lonesome. I remember pre-release I actually thought the guy looked mildly interesting. I was more interested in Thane however. I'm just wondering how much the Jacob hate groupthink has infected people. Even if you found him somewhat distasteful, did that distaste increase once you got on the forums? How many of you have gone through a Jacob romance? Was your first knowledge of what the romance contained from forum posts and youtube vids? I remember thinking he was boring and not someone I wanted to romance, but I don't think I started actively disliking him until I got on the forums.

My first impression of Jacob was, "He's pretty cute, actually!"
Then when I found out he was romanceable, I started the romance because I remembered ME1 and that we only had 2 choices and 1 wasn't even a man.  So I figured, "I better take a romance wherever they offer it to me!" :P
And the beginning of the romance was actually quite good, in my opionion.  Not too fast, seemed pretty natural...I only got up to the part where he kisses you on the cheek (or vice-versa...can't remember) and then I found out I could romance Thane and I was like, "Oh, that's MUCH more interesting than a human romance!  Bye Jacob!" :P etc.etc.

IMHO the Jacob romance didn't go off the rails until later.  Also in my (not so humble) opinion the Garrus romance kicks Jacob's romance's butt and steals its lunch money. ;)

Shep's face in this pic is...terrifying.

So I didn't manage to find that banner I was looking for...but I did find a LOT of hate for the Tali/Kal idea. Some from hardline Talimancers who were going "ZOMFG, Tali can't be with ANYbody but Shepard!!!!111oneone!!!"

Others who were going "NOWAI, Kal needs to be an LI option for FemShep ONRY!"

And other people who were going "so because a guy and a girl talk to each other, that means they want to maek bebiz?"

Jeez...the hostility Posted Image

I think my favorite ME2 Garrus line is "You know what else is bad for business? A broken neck!"

I honestly think that's one of my favorite lines from a game, ever.  Such an incredibly badass scene.

Haha, so that means that Garrus could hook up with Tali or Miranda (cause the only two characters that he talks to directly)? :P

I've been laughing out loud from kglaser's expression (the one Nilf quoted) to this last post above me. I love you guys.

Okaaay, time to go.

Much Garrus (and Kal'Reegar to those who share the taste) to you all!!

By the way, do you think there would be as much hate as if people were suggesting that Garrus should go with that tiebreaker turian female? Hmhmhm.

I'm not sure if I have a favorite Garrus line. I like a lot of them, so I never chose a favorite. Same with Saren's lines.

For some reason I like it when Saren says (very dismissively) "This meeting *has* no purpose!"  He's like, I'm a Spectre, why are you silly Council members wasting my valuable time with this ridiculous human and her (his) accusations?  Begone! :P

I haven't heard Garrus' line if he shoots Sidonis after listening to him, but I've read about it and I assume it'll be one of my many favorites. MaleShep will get that line whenever he reaches Garrus' loyalty mission... and ME2. MainShep let Garrus shoot Sidonis the first chance she had. At that point, I didn't even know it was possible to let him talk and still shoot him.

I didn't know that, either.  I thought it was either shoot him in the back or not shoot him at all.  Next time, Garrus gets the headshot for sure. B)

I recently discovered that some people have deliberately killed Kal'Reegar on all their playthroughs so he can never be with Tali. And then were also some people who made sure Jacob didn't survive the suicide mission so he couldn't "steal" Miranda or Kasumi from their Shepards.

But the Creepiest Creep On The Internet Award goes to the people who deliberately got Tali exiled so she wouldn't have anywhere to go but the Normandy and she would have to stay with Shepard forever omg omg why do these people exist whyyyyyyyyy

It's just how people on the internet are. There isn't much you can do about it (though the folks in the Tali thread seem to frown on exiling her or killing Kal. AKA this will get you yelled at)

But to talk about Garrus I was playing the game while my nephew was watching and he though "Derek" (Garrus) was the coolest looking dinosaur ever.

And lol, I can just imagine Garrus' head exploding if Shep hugged him then. But just a slightly more lingering touch on his arm, a bit like what she does when she says "I don't want to pressure you" during the second romance convo, that would've been better. The pat is just so dismissive. Kind of like "meh, you'll be ok".

Hah, that reminds me of when he gets gutshot in the suicide mission and then he shakes it off and Shepard just punches him on the shoulder like, "Eh, you're fine, forget it, let's go!"  And he just shakes his head like there's a mosquito on it or something.  Another of my all-time favorite gaming moments. :wizard:

Yeah, it was. In ME1, you have your squaddies discuss the Rachni Queen's fate on Noveria. You need to bring Wrex/Garrus with you for it to work.

I was clueless on the romance options (I'm disciplined about avoiding spoilers - I didn't know Garrus was going to show up), so when Shep started getting flirty with Jacob I went with the flow, urged on by my partner.  Then I discovered there were CHOICES!!Posted Image

I romanced him.  For science.  Dumped him for our turian, too, in another game.  I'm usually indifferent toward him.  He doesn't really want to get involved with Shepard and you have to persue him even more aggressively than you did Kaidan.  My biggest problem with him was the hidden issues he seems to have with Garrus.

lol, this is exactly what happened to me.

Jacob - oh hey. Why does my Shep sound so weird? He's probably a LI. I'll take whatever I can.
Thane - OMG he calls me siha? He's another LI? That's even better!
Garrus - reach & flexibility... wtf, you have other conversations than calibrations... WTF, GARRUS IS A LI! :o:O

I never dumped the other two. Jacob and Thane were both still like "let me know when you're free" while I already headbumped Garrus. Bahahah. God I sound desperate.

I never hated Jacob though, I laugh about his romance but he's a cool guy. I still love the brohug. All the not-so-nice comments about Garrus or whatever makes me raise an eyebrow, but doesn't change my opinion of him.

Also, I never saw the appeal in Kal. *runs away and hides*

Whu? He didn't sound forty to me. Also, Tali insisted on being on a first-name basis with him. I don't think she would've done that with someone who was that much older than her. I just assumed he was in his thirties at most. Kinda like Shepard.

The fact that he calls her "ma'am" would also be odd if he were significantly older (probably because I'd expect him to be higher ranked than her in that case).

Also it's not the gun: it's the attitude. ^^

Oh dear god. Then again, those threads I was browsing also had these two specimens:

-People who thought Tali had to have been with "plenty of guys" since Shepard's death.

and, replying to them

-People who were shocked and mortified at the thought that Tali might NOT be a virgin.

The first group obviously didn't quite grasp the concept of quarian biology. And the second group makes me want to back off veeeeeeeeeeery slowly towards the nearest door.

I don't mind the idea of a non-romanced Garrus finding someone else. It's just that I don't think any of the other squaddies or NPCs we've seen so far would be a good match for him. And the tiebreaker female was quite obviously just a fling.

But if there's a turian female in ME3, I have nothing against a non-romanced Garrus showing interest in her.

Besides, I already have a turian with a giant sniper rifle. :P

Well, the second group has a somewhat valid reason to be upset. Shepard was dead for two years. Being with "Plenty of guys" within the span of only two years makes Tali seem a bit ****ty.
(Either that, or she tried to find someone to replace Shepard, and failed. In which case, D'AAAAWWW)
