It's very hard to define, it sounds a bit slavic, possibly Liz pulling out her Polish heritage, but it could also be arabic of sorts.Mukora wrote...

Trust me, we've been over this a billion times in the Talithread, we cannot find a proper nationality to associate it with.
Garrus pic, sorry for cluttering your thread with off-topicness, folks.

(All I know is it's Eastern European. I just know it's not Russian or Polish. I took Russian for 4 years and one of my teachers was Polish.)

Yeah, when I first heard her, I thought she was going for a Middle-Eastern vibe. It's not a downright Arabic accent though.

Hungarian.
Actually, Hungarian has nothing in common with other Eastern European languages. In fact, its closest relative is Finnish (they have a language group specifically for them, and they are the only languages in it).

Speaking of accents. Li from Mass Effect has the greatest accent of any turian (a New Jersey accent)
This. Too bad he's freezing his butt in Noveria to come in ME2... D:

I honestly think it's something that the actress just made up.
And the more I listen to Garrus, the more I can hear the Arkansas in Keener's voice.

Well, Tali did like Shepard in ME1. She mentions as much during her romance.
Yeah, I know, but it wasn't acknowledged. It's more difficult to let go when you've been in a relationship with someone, hence why I was mentioning Kaidan and Ashley.
Also:
HARBINGER FOR LI IN ME3!!
Because he knows you feel this.
And Legion/Zaeed is totally, undeniably canon.
CAESAR DRESSING!!!!
Oh, wait...wrong argument. Sorry.

But Xsause probably came up with a lot scarier stuff (wasn't there some Garrus/Mordin at one point?)
EVERYONE on the Normandy has a crush on Mordin. He just keeps on rejecting them, causing them to hit on easier targets (Shepard) instead.
Oh, and this (the Garrus/Mordin you spoke of):

It's from the Creepy Fanfiction comic, which you can find in the OP.

The funny thing is I swear Sroka just got fed up with having to say words with an R sound like "Saren" and just dropped the accent entirely for some scenes (this only happens in Mass Effect. I think she got more comfortable with the voice for the sequel).Sialater wrote...

LMAO, I couldn't stop hearing it either when I learned where he was from. You can take the boy out of the South...

It's the same thing when I hear British VAs and can tell what region they're from, even though their characters have nothing to do with that region. I find that a bit jarring. In comparison, BK's accent is really slight.Sialater wrote...

After reading all this about the tattoos and the mention to Garrus' father I've just realized that we've always spoken as if we were sure that Garrus' father is still alive.
Do we know that for sure?
I mean... He said he was pissed and such in ME1 when he mentioned about the whole Spectre training thing, but... How do we know he was even alive by the time that ME1's events happened?
I can't recall any detail regarding it.
When he talks about reapplying for Spectre training he says "It's probably going to kill my father" implying he is still alive at that point. Granted he could have died sometime between ME1 and ME2 but it seems Garrus would have mentioned that.

I have not noticed this. I have to listen carefully for it. I didn't think Garrus could get any cooler, but this just might do it.
