Also, Asari repellant is a good idea.

I actually do drill Mordin a little in that part, but it's kinda my paragade's way of testing him. She believes the genophage was warranted but she also believes in people having sound reasons for what they do so when Mordin expresses doubt she pushes him to see if his reasoning is sound. She does this in part so he can restate his reasons to himself and remember why he did it. When it turns out what he says makes sense and he still maintains that despite his doubt than she drops to renegade and says she admires him for having the guts to own it. She's weird like that.
I do something similar to this (I always keep the cure, though), and I get some of the questions Paragon Shep asks him, like "why?", but some of the Paragon dialogue is way too harsh, especially with the data on the terminal and the dead krogan female. You can see he's coming close to a complete breakdown, and Paragon Shepard just keeps calling him a ruthless murderer.
I just wish there had been a dialogue option to ask him if he was alright. He really needed a hug there. Damn it Tali, why are you the only one who gets a hug after a dramatic revelation?

Or Gianna, apparently if you choose the top option at the end of the conversation with her (one that seemed labeled fairly innocuously) and you're male Shepard, they do an "almost kiss." I also got weird predatory vibes from Shepard in the Jack romance.
It's not an almost kiss, she actually does kiss him on the cheek.
As for Shep in the Jack romance, if you actually do refuse the sex and deny that you're interested, Shep just sounds like a "tough love" friend kind of guy. Almost like he's treating Jack like a male friend he's trying to help shape up. Which is why it was extremely weird to me that she still considered that he was romancing her. I actually liked where the non-romance path was going.
@ Sialater: Lol, well, there's no accounting for personal habits
Asari repellent? Yes please.

Ask him if he's alright, yes, maybe (though I don't think he'd own up to needing comfort), but I don't think a hug would've been appropriate. It works with Tali, because she's female, generally emotive about things and an old friend. Giving a hug to an eccentric old scientist you've only recently met? Ehhh...

It would most definitely shock him out of his momentary moral paradox.

Ah, that's worse. I had never done the top option fortunately.
I was disappointed that we couldn't be friends with Jack. It's romance or being told to **** off.
I thought the Asari were too sexualized, among other things. Had I the reigns, I would have gotten rid of them completely before Mass Effect was released.

Lol.
FemShep: saving the galaxy with the power of hugs.
We really should have the equivalent of Princess Cousland. She's a recurrent presence in the Zev Thread: the extremely pink (even her hair), extremely naive, extremely good Warden who thinks she can save Ferelden with flowers and chocolate.
I wonder what the FemShep equivalent could be called.
Precious Shepard?

Ah, but Shepard has built a career on doing impossible and inappropriate things.
I know what you mean. I think my phrasing was a little off there, xD.

Precious Shepard paragon interrupt. She doesn't headbutt Uvenk. She hugs him and he immediately dies of mixed shame and shock. Floored by Shep's poweful hugs, the Shaman lets Grunt take the Rite.
And then she hugs the Thresher Maw.
And before the final battle, she hugs the Illusive Man's hologram, making him instantly hate the very organization he is working for and force her to destroy the base. With flowers.
I would so buy that game.

I agree that the Asari are immersion breaking. They are basically blue humans with head tentacles. They were clearly intended as "space babes." Mass Effect without them would have been amazing - you've got genuine aliens everywhere, like it would be in actuality.
I think they doctored the asari up a little bit in ME2. I find Samara genuinely interesting. But it would be even better if she was something besides an asari. In hindsight though I think the devs underestimated people's ability to deal with alien physiology in LIs. They wanted alien LIs but thought no one would go for Tali. I think Liara is an unfortunate experiment that had to happen. Once we see alien romance is on the table lots of people started going "well, what about Garrus? What about Tali?" So for that at least I am thankful, Liara, the space babe pioneer. I owe you that much at least.

Is this Princess Cousland a made-up entity or are you referring to an actual poster, god help us all?
Well, someone did make her on purpose to try to do the most ridiculous DA:O playthrough they could. I can try to find a screenshot.

I mean the moment you meet her in ME1 she's already swooning. And in the second conversation the romance starts when they've only just met.

All the Reapers really needed was a big loving hug.
I think you just spoiled the ending of ME3.
HARBINGER: SHEPARD, WE ARE THE HARBINGER OF YOUR GENETIC--
*Every member of every species runs up to the Reapers and starts hugging them, ending with Shepard and her squad hugging Harbinger*
HARBINGER: I...feel this. You are my salvation through love and friendship. Thank you, Shepard.

Precious Shepard: "Come here you old irascible rascal. You just need a hug." *hugs him*
Velarn: "You're right. Finger quotes! What was I thinking? Let's go have some cake. Then we'll get right on this Reaper business."
Precious Shepard: "I think they are just feeling underepresented. A big statue next to the krogan one should do the trick. That'll clear this whole nasty misunderstanding right up."

Suddenly, my idea of giving Mordin a friendly hug doesn't sound so weird anymore.
Oh wait, it still does. Sorry.

I just wish they hadn't made Liara's character based around being a love interest. It's not very compelling.

I agree. I think they set a lot of unfortunate standards for her that they can't undo now (fanservicey F/F intended mostly for guys being one of them.)

Also here is Princess. But you may need to be able to access flickr to see her
I wonder how Precious Shepard would fix Jack.
Jack: F*** off, Shepard.
Precious Shepard: Why, that won't do at all. You big old grumpasaurus, stop being so mean! Life is full of wonderful, beautiful things!
*hugs Jack*
Jack: What the-?!...Oh man, Shepard, I was so wrong. About everything. I've been evil and horrible. Hold me!

I think they tried to make her more badass in ME2, but that got met with mixed success. People who did like her swooning complained about the personality change, and a lot of people who didn't just thought she became creepy...
