Asking her if she wants to sit down and have a drink like Lorik did (except he wasn't flirting because he says it to MaleShep too) would be nice.

You never know.  Maybe Lorik swings either way.

Seems to me turians wouldn't care much if he did.  You know, as long as flirting wasn't getting in the way of him doing his job.

I would really like BW to implement the idea of light romances (Donnelly was originally suppose to be for FemShep flirting, but all we got was Kelly?) I wouldn't mind my FemShep having a light romance with a turian. XD

To be fair for a sec, it makes sense that Garrus is more trustworthy: he's been around since the first game, so we knew him from before. We'd only just met Miranda. (Just playing Devil's Advocate here.)

Miranda also said that she would have put a control chip into Shepard's brain if she had her way.

That's why my MainShep never liked her. xD That's also one of the ways TIM got on her good side, by telling Miranda not to.

I think Miranda's one of those characters who left a really bad first impression, but got better deeper into the game (rejecting TIM, e.g.). Honestly, if she wasn't so big looking on certain parts of her body, I would've really liked her character.

My main problem with Miranda was that I did not feel her character was consistent, and that was part of the reason I did not find her compelling. The personality shift from Cerberus Station to the Normandy was very jarring and immersion breaking. I really would have liked Miranda to have been "Cerberus Station" Miranda because that incarnation of her was far more interesting. I would have liked slowly building up Miranda's trust with Shepard - similar to how Morrigan was like in DA:O. Instead, she changes from "I don't want to talk" pre-Normandy to leisurely and excitedly telling you her life story on the Normandy right off the bat.

Yup.  Competence rules.

I started to like Miranda more as the game went on and I played through her loyalty mission, right up until her fight with Jack. Quitting Cerberus in the end doesn't make me like her more because I like TIM, and MainShep gave him the base. She's not even in the top three on my list of least favorite squadmates though. (Now I wonder what that list would be like if I really took the time to give each of the squadmates numbers. Garrus is #1, no doubt.)

I don't find it with just Miranda in general, but a lot of the characters in ME2. They are this character, but after one conversation they are a totally different character. The only character I think were consistant were Mordin, Thane, Legion, Garrus and Tali. Everyone else seemed to have spilt personalities.

That's part of that the "ocean is a mile wide but only an inch deep" thing so many people have observed. Their development is lightning speed because there are so many squaddies and so much crap is going on it's hard to focus on any one specific thing for more than a few moments. Pacing in ME2 is screwy in multiple areas.

And I ended up liking Miranda. I think she's pissy and her behavior with Jack annoys me, but I always end up trusting her by games end. I wouldn't say any of my Sheps are friends with her but they definitely have a general respect and regard for her by games end. They also appreciate that others squaddies don't with good reason which limits the amount of authority they are willing to grant her.

Say WAH! So they thought JUST having kelly would be fine and dandy for hetro female players ? God dammit, I don't even like Don but making him a light romance would have shown me that femshep wasn't a "cut n paste" female replacement. You know, so that you can play her as a straight character that DOESN'T enjoy asari groping her Posted Image.

Also it may have saved Jacob from being the "sleazy romance" option . Kelly's fling is considered the sleazy "romance" out of the girls so maybe, just maybe, having Don available for shallow fun would have made Jacob's romance different. Maybe Bioware thought the women would appreciate having their femsheps be more assertive in her flirtation but they went about it all wrong and ended up making players hesitant to even TALK to Jacob let alone romance him. If it was DON that femshep acted this way towards they probably would have had to change how femshep spoke to Jacob so that the romance's didn't sound samey. Maybe then Jacob would have been spared the humiliation and internet memes.

I started liking Miranda more when she showed her insecurity that she was built to be the perfect Barbie doll, but despite all that, Shepard didn't have to bat an eye to be considered the "perfect" female. (I'm paraphrasing here -- you get the idea.) I thought it humanized Miranda and Shepard's pep talk helped to move their relationship beyond competing for the alpha female role in TIM's eyes. Miranda was loyal to Cerebrus because he saved her and she believed in the work they were doing -- that's why I could accept that she had a hard time being told that what happened to Jack was wrong because nobody likes to be told their efforts are for nothing. I realize that male players get more out of Miranda conversation-wise, but I don't mind because I'm perfectly happy being on the flip coin, getting the maximum mileage out of Garrus, heh.

i mostly play a guy b/c i am a guy, but whenever i played as femshep, i honestly never thought of Shepard as competing - maybe Miranda - but not Shepard.  Shepard doesn't need to compete and was never threatened since she just IS the 'alpha' you know.  i was never a fan of miranda as an LI.  at first, maybe, just because she looked yummy, but she and jack seem to do a lot of whining.

and you can keep that max mileage and total awkwardness from garrus lol.  he's my bromance.  as long as he doesn't tell me he's calibrating all the damned time in ME3, i'll be good

Morning everyone,

just caught up on last night's posts.

We need a video of what?

As for Miranda: Somehow I never had trouble with her. I liked how she went from "Cerberus isn't as evil as you think" to "Consider this my resignation"....

I picked Jacob to lead the fire teams on my first PT and Kasumi as my tech expert because I had read in various walkthroughs that the tech expert definitely dies and I didn't want to lose neither Tali nor Legion. Figured I was doing something wrong, because she came out alive in the end xD

Only if they romance her. MaleSheps who don't romance Miranda have the same convos with her as a FemShep would.

Yeah, I think it's like what Raga said: ME2 is a bit lacking in time for its plot developments, so yes, character evolution happens at lightning speed. I think that's why some people think that Miranda or Jacob are inconsistent (I still can't see it). Same for Jack: her evolution is believable...it's just that it happens in a VERY short timespan. And you can apparently only fix her with boy bits Posted Image

I think Collider made the parallel with Morrigan, and yes, Miranda's development IS very similar to Morrigan's. It just happens about 10 times faster, which is why it feels more rushed.

Also, do you find Samara and Kasumi inconsistent? I always thought they stayed on track.

Zaeed...I find it hard to believe that Shep could manage to talk him down as thoroughly as she/he can do on Zorya. I always thought he'd still have a grudge afterwards. But you can also ascribe it to shoddy pacing. As for Grunt, well, it makes sense for him to be inconsistent: he's still trying to figure out who he is.
