They did indeed release KOTOR II too early. A lot of things weren't put into the final version of the game due to time restraints. Such as more Atton romance material. I always thought that Disciple was a poor competitor for Atton. Atton was far more interesting. So was Mira - more interesting than Handmaiden & Visas. Bao-Dur wouldn't have been too bad as a "romance" option. Truth be told though, I would rather had Obsidian get rid of the paper thin romances in KOTOR II - they were far too subtle and far too off screen.



Fortunately there's a restored content mod out there that's been recently released. Too bad Peragus is still grueling to go through.



I wouldn't mind that Bioware puts some M/M in the last game since the series didn't have any of it. However, as you said, it's best that they focused on the romances they already have.

Alright, on that note. Other characters recognizing your romance. What would you like to see in terms of the Garrus romance? Who would you like to comment on your relationship with him? What kinds of things would you like said about the relationship?

I want this too.  I want some conflict.  Conflict is interesting.  Think about it - those Terra Firma guys start picking at you because you're with Garrus and one of them confronts you about it.  That would be a fun situation to act out.

@Collider: Besides the reporter and Garrus' father, some comments from Joker and the other squadmates would be nice, mainly those who knew Shepard and Garrus from ME1.

I don't know. Humans don't seem to have any problem with the Asari. Or the Drell (which is expected since they aren't very involved in Mass Effect's overall plot). Turians however are involved in the human-turian rivalry and there's still a lot of bad blood over the First Contact War. Quarians are pretty much universally regarded as scum and criminals.

Agreed - I don't want any lame fights. The only squad mate I could see starting one would be Jack.

I think that the ME2 squad mates will get less spotlight than Ashley/Kaidan/Liara - however Horizon only really made sense because it was in the middle of the trilogy and Bioware was presumably trying to keep the Virmire Survivor and Liara alive, for story roles in ME3.

According to an interview with Jack Wall (I think, or I can't remember) or his team of composers for ME2 that there were a lot more stuff they originally planned from the BW team. Which brings me to the question that whether we will see it in ME3 or shelved for another DLC or even a new IP with similar settings.

Definitely Garrus, he had the least amount of convos out of the squaddies which still makes zero sense to me given his huge popularity, both as a fangirl obsession and as a bro. I do hope they go all out on the content this time.

I believe they had the ME2 squad as more expendable so they could have the easier job of focusing on 2/3 characters that are guaranteed to be alive. I don't think this means that we'll have barely anything from ME2 squad mates in ME3, but I think this means that Ashley/Kaidan and Liara will have more involvement in the ME3 story. Similar to how ME1 was - you had Kaidan/Ashley playing a major role on Virmire, Ashley/Kaidan freaking out before Ilos, you had Liara tying all the leads together for Ilos, etc. Of course, ME1 may not be the best model of what we all want. You pretty much recruited Garrus and Tali in ME1 and that was about the end of their involvement in the story.

I think there is decent chance they will as they won't spend as much time fiddling with the combat and graphics this go around.

Agreed. Bioware can go all out in the last game of the trilogy. No worry about importing ME3 to anything - they can have crazy branching plots and more time/resources for the characters, instead of spending them on gameplay/graphics. They really polished up ME2 - it looks fantastic and plays fantastic already.

Does anyone expected an ending conversation with Garrus, if you decide to just be buddies with him, rather than romance him? Tali and Miranda share this fate too, since there is no obvious indicator from their conversations that the conversation tree has ended. I mean, you get that from a lot of other characters (Grunt, Jacob, Mordin, Thane, Samara, Legion and maybe Jack if you include her shooting you down if you are a female or male wanting to just be buddies). It doesn't have to be an elaborate new dialogues, but just a different comment perhaps (i.e. Grunt at the end of his conversation tree mentions that he has everyone he wants, therefore he is content)

Well Jacob actually had the closest thing to a friendship path in ME2. If you didn't romance him you get another completely new set of conversations. Garrus and Tali are a bit different because it's implied that you are friends (although Shepard can be mean to Tali and not be friends with her).



I liked the friendship with Samara, however I felt that she trusted Shepard far too quickly. Jack was disappointing - it's either you romance her or she tells you **** off. And you must be of the male gender to "fix" her.

I think part of their appeal is that they stuck by Shepard. Garrus is pretty much inseperable from Shepard at this point. It's nearly canon that Garrus is Shepard's buddy. Fortunately many players do regard him as Shepard's pal (or LI, in many cases).
