Well Jacob actually had the closest thing to a friendship path in ME2. If you didn't romance him you get another completely new set of conversations. Garrus and Tali are a bit different because it's implied that you are friends (although Shepard can be mean to Tali and not be friends with her).

I liked the friendship with Samara, however I felt that she trusted Shepard far too quickly. Jack was disappointing - it's either you romance her or she tells you **** off. And you must be of the male gender to "fix" her.

I really feel pissed off about the Jack friendship path.  Initially It didnt bother me because I didnt like her very much, but now she's one of my favourites and she just tells my femSheps to **** off. ggggrrrrrPosted Image

I like the idea of choosing a certain number of squadmates to bring along out of the whole group too, but I'd also like some new characters, a group larger than six (we know the Normandy SR-2 holds twelve squadmates), and no required squadmates. If they're going to give us a choice, my Shepards want to say that the people they don't like can't come. But I expect that ME3 will be awesome anyway, even if the stuff I mention here doesn't make it in. I don't really expect them to resurrect Saren... but if they did, I would think they're even more awesome for it. :D And post a lot of "Thank you, BioWare!" on the forums.

Wait until Mordin starts talking about Shepard grabbing his ass, he'll never stop :V  Thanks for checking it out and I'm glad you like it.

Okay, I read the third chapter too because of Mordin. xD It's really good. Now I'll leave the last two chapters for later.

I think they based Jack too much on her romance. It's like they made her for Shepard to swoop in and save her with the power of his male bits.

I agree with Jack as well, but for Samara's friendship I think it suited her. I interpreted as Samara having hundreds of years of experience to know whom to trust and not to trust (she is a Justicar and has to deal with similar suitations all the time) and she does want companionship since she stated that she had not many connections with other people other than those whom she work with for the sake of justice. But then again, if you wene renegade she will be honourable to state that when they face each other again, it will be a death match.

I also think they honestly didn't anticipate the Tali/Garrus popularity. I think they expected the ME1 LIs would remain popular and that most others would go for Miranda, Jacob, and Thane. I think the others were meant to be some bonus fanservicey content. If they planned ME2 with that in mind, it creates a monster problem for ME3 because Garrus and Tali are the most popular characters. I don't think I'm just pulling that statistic out of my ass. Everything I have seen from this site, to other gaming forums, to comments following reviews, to comments on youtube vids seems to suggest that to me.

Yea, I can pretty much take one look at the Tali thread and everyone there loves Garrus.

I'm sure there's a ff out there where this is stated more explicitly Posted Image

Seriously though, my femSheps want to know her, want to help her, want to be friends with her.

I'm still surprised Garrus and Tali got so popular. Considering they were just kinda there.

Must be those voices. =P

I like their personalities better than many other squadmates. My main team in ME1 was Garrus and Wrex. I mostly brought them along, so I didn't get to see as much of Tali's personality until ME2 and my current MaleShep playthrough of ME1. Garrus is definitely my favorite overall, and Tali is among my favorites. (Actually, she's probably the only female among my favorites.)

Also, I would have liked Jack more if she didn't assume that FemShep was trying to flirt with her after a few conversations. ): I really thought she would be one of my favorites.

Though as I've said before I am willing to deal with Garrus not being a squaddie so long as he is still around in some significant fashion. Heck, I would even be okay with Garrus DLC for most of his content though I know that route would ****** some people off. I just want him in the game in much more meaningful way than ME1 people were in ME2.

Nice, ElectricZ...it's good to see Garrus getting along ok with Jacob but not OOC.

Thanks, KG... I think Garrus gets along with pretty much everybody on the ship, provided they don't cause trouble for Shepard or the mission. He's calm, level-headed, keeps a good sense of humor about things, and doesn't seem to have any prejudices... Plus he's got the cred for being one of Shepard's original team so he doesn't really have to prove anything to anybody.

That, and he's just a badass. Who wouldn't want to get along with him?

Oh lawls, it didn't hit me like that with Shepard as a zombie... :P

Though, Saren as a zombie has already been done by FFtL FF (in a more explicable and alienating way)

It may be weird to not have Garrus fighting alongside Shepard. He's not really involved in a faction of any sort - he's denounced the Council and their politics, his squad on Omega is gone, and he is a self-proclaimed not very good turian. He doesn't seem to have any political ties. The only one I can think of is that his father was once head of C-Sec, but is apparently the past, and C-Sec was always holding Garrus back.

I know. Overall, it makes no sense for Garrus to go anywhere. But Bioware can always pull something out of left field and they have before. In fact, they almost have to with him or he won't have an arc in ME3. I mean what obvious thing is there left for him to do?
