I say we have the entire normandy crew to celebrate garrus's new thread.

I mean look at Jacob hes way ahead of them.

That's a very ambitious undertaking, Pacifien. I'll fire up my SM saves the first chance I have and tell you who was in which slot. All I can say so far is this:

1st time: Tali + Thane. Shep caught Tali, Tali caught Shep.

2nd time: Miranda + Grunt. Shep caught Grunt, Miranda caught Shep.

Can't remember who was in which slot and who held the omnitool, which is why I'll need to check my saves.

Garrus/Legion: Garrus held the omnitool, Shepard caught Legion, Legion caught Shepard.



Garrus/Mordin: Garrus held the omnitool, Shepard caught Mordin, Mordin caught Shepard.



Garrus/Jack: Selected Jack first in the selection screen, then selected Garrus. Jack held the omnitool, Shepard caught Garrus, Garrus caught Shepard.

How awesome is Garrus? If you look in the dictionary under the word 'awesome,' there's a picture of Garrus Vakarian.



My favorite Garrus battle moment had to be during Tali's Loyalty mission, where both Garrus and Tali were kicking ass side-by-side. Garrus made clean work out of the Geth troopers. Tali took care of any Geth that came close, and assumed direct control of any unportected geth. Meanwhile, my Shepard is sitting around going, "Am I needed here?"

My most favorite Garrus moment thus far has to be during the Overlord mission, when Garrus, Miranda, and I went to take the train car over to the satellite to blow it up.

As I go into the car and stand by the corner with the door to my right, I look at the door and notice that the door is closed with Garrus behind it and Miranda is stuck in it.(silly goose)

I roll my eyes at them and command summon Miranda into the room. She doesn't move. I than do the same for Garrus, thinking that it'll encourage him to come through on his own. I call him and he walks in FROM MY LEFT.

There's only one door and I'm looking at it the whole time!

Apparently, Garrus Vakarian doesn't use doors. HE WALKS THROUGH WALLS.

I don't know how helpful will this be, but:



've done it with Garrus+Legion and Garrus+Thane. Garrus never caught Shepard.



In the G+T playthrough, Thane was the one who held the omnitool.

I don't remember about the Legion one.



I'm pretty sure I picked Garrus first in both though.

Only endpart playthrough I can remember offhand was the last one:

Garrus picked 1st, Tali picked 2nd. Both loyal. Tali used the Omnitool for the TIM convo, Garrus spoke out against blowing up the base (), Shepard catches Garrus, Tali catches Shep.

As i've mentioned before (And only really can remember well since it was my first end playthrough), I took Thane and Garrus. Caught Garrus, got caught by Garrus. I was like "Man, Garrus and I are the bestest buds EVER!" (Thane Romance, so was like "Doh, this is acceptable though")

I think I did pick Garrus first, then Thane. I'm not sure if they did the random "Squad icon shuffle" during the section.

Edit: Ah, yes, the one who speaks out is the one not holding the tool, right? Garrus didn't want me to blow it up, so Thane was holding the tool, I believe... I cannot quite recall. And woo new thread!

Also, I can't contribute to the SM research just now, as I'm still on my ME1 canon replay, and I also can't think of my favorite battle moment with Garrus from ME2 (I know, what good am I, right?). But I just *loved* the part from his mission where you're trying to find Fade, and the volus guy stands up to you because he has those 2 big krogan bodyguards...and in like 2 seconds (in Renegade interrupt), Shepard shoots one and Garrus shoots the other, and then they just stare down at the volus guy like, "you were sayin'?" Haha, classic! XD

I love that scene.

My other favorite is when you take out that asari Eclipse recruit in Samara's mission.  She pulls a gun and you and Garrus, and in my case, Thane, just calmly gun her down.

I don't know why guys, but garrus usually is the one that catches me. I mean i remember bringing thane, miranda, mordin, grunt. But i always caught garrus, and garrus usually caught me. I really guess it does it randomly.

I'm not 100% sure, but I know the last time I played, I either caught Garrus, or he caught me (I can't remember which). I know everyone was loyal and I used Garrus for both fire teams, Tali in the vents, and Samara for the biotic bubble.

Forgot to mention, I took Garrus and Miranda to the final fight.

Pacifien said, IIRC, that the developers did not really "code" who catches who (meaning that they did not intentionally write an script that makes x squad mate more likely to fall or catch Shepard), so I imagine that who catches who is partly random and partly unintentional results from the code.

Just *reading* a mention of his loyalty and/or recruitment missions again makes me want to drop ME1 and play them yet again. I can't find words for how cool his loyalty mission is. I know I'm repeating myself when I say that, but I can't help it. I grabbed my kids and showed them the whole scene with Harkin--I said, "You CAN'T not see this. This is AWESOME." They agreed.

Garrus' loyalty mission is my second favorite of the bunch. The tension at the end if you decide to keep Sidonis talking is just awesome.

I have never seen that.  Now I REALLY want to ditch ME1 for ME2 and play that over again. LOL!
