Calibrations: Garrus Love and Turian Discussion

Similar to what we discussed earlier about Garrus trying to stop Shepard from doing something that he thinks isn't the right way to go.

That would be interesting, I'd definitely like to see something like that. I do want Garrus to take further steps into the role of 'equal', and I think their time apart between 1 & 2 has thankfully helped with this aspect at least a little.Collider wrote...
In that respect, Garrus may, interestingly, become more of a moral guide or compass for our Shepards rather than the other way around. That would quite the development. The student becoming the master, I suppose.

Also, happy 300!

My Shepard has his own biases and bad temper, so I can see Garrus stepping in to calm him down.

More seriously, ever since I read "The Hundred Year Distance", I always maintained that that would be a very plausible future for Shepard and romanced Garrus.
And happy 300!!

@Raga, yeah I have tried to remain above the BS but when you think you are doing something nice for another group and instead of saying thanks you get crap it’s a bit disheartening, especially as I know I would never do that to anyone. Just makes me a bit mad and a bit sad.

If I had my PC I'd post up the Garrus hug for you.

I frequent all of the other character threads.
What some/all of those threads have that this thread doesn't:
A. Drama.
B. Pessimism.
C. Arrogance.
D. Extreme character bashing.
E. Personal attacks/unfriendliness.
F. Trolls.
G. Chat-room posts.
H. Etc.
Of course, I'm not denouncing any particular thread here. But I noticed this thread consistently provides intelligent and friendly discussion. Most/all of the people here are laidback. Even if we are displeased with ME3 I don't think the thread will turn into something it isn't.

So to keep it OT, hmm, do you guys ever actually use Garrus with the assault rifle? I actually keep him on the assault rifle most of the time in ME1. But his dialog in ME2 is just too priceless. I keep him in sniper even when it isn't tactically sound just because I can imagine the way his eyes would well up if I told him to switch out. He loves that rifle.

The boards can be very entertaining at times (for a lurker such as myself) I just don't like it when it gets mean.
EDIT:
Ok I am officially the dorkiest dork that could ever be a dork. Must be the Star Trek outfit I’m currently wearing. I’m losing a lot in translation with the forums today (sugar overload) I totally misinterpreted the response to my forum post earlier. Geez I’m too thin skinned to be on the interwebs.
OT
I think mostly because I’m lazy in assigning weaponry to my squad – I usually keep Garrus to the assault rifle. When I remember (or could be bothered) to have tactics (always handy when you keep dying) I always switch him to the sniper.

I often forget to switch Garrus to his sniper rifle. Why isn't his rifle default anyway? He's a SNIPER. Not an... assault-riflist.
After ME3, Garrus can become a Spectre and I will retire, taking care of our
Unromanced Garrus does not exist
Goodnight/day folks!

In your experience would you say that most drama in other threads is a result of internal drama or was initially prompted by trolls?
Depends on the thread itself. Most of the Tali thread's drama came from trolls. For the Miranda thread, it was a combination of interaction with other threads and internal conflict. The Jack & Liara thread drama is mostly internal. Etc. Hard to pinpoint which one it is mostly, across all threads, though.
Sorry for OT. I think the psychology behind how these threads evolve is fascinating. How certain people are drawn to certain threads and each thread develops a subculture. Factions get formed and enemies picked out. Like the bro/sis thing we have with the Tali thread. Or the split down the middle over femshep/dudeshep in the Liara thread. I think it is all very interesting.
I posted a bit of my thoughts on this here. Wall of text warning

I use both. Sometimes I don't even remember to keep what weapon he's using because I take most of the bulk of damage dealing (though being more tactical about squad use seems fun). I also think that the assault rifle is the default for him? I guess I just forget to switch it out sometimes.

Unomanced: Exactly the same as above except Shepard and Garrus are bros for life.

By the way, I played through a lot of Noveria today and got up to all the important parts at Peak 15. (The lighting on my MaleShep there looks awesome.

I haven't actually switched weapons for the squadmates yet, or used any commands for them other than the power wheel, so Garrus is probably always using his assault rifle. He always charges into battle too, sometimes right in front of my Shepard. I'm just learning to be good at videogame combat on Casual - he trusts my ability to not shoot him way too much.
By the way, I played through a lot of Noveria today and got up to all the important parts at Peak 15. (The lighting on my MaleShep there looks awesome.*pride in character creation* Which is great, because I imagine he grew up in a cold place like Noveria.) Garrus and Tali each seem to get half of the squadmate lines, so that works out well. I still have to check the Wiki for what order I want to play it though. Peak 15 always confuses me with where Shepard's going and where he should go first.
I hate Peak 15! Compared to the rest of the game, I think Peak 15 is more difficult than even the final battle -.-
