As long as he doesn't look like Ahnuld does here, I won't complain. :P He definitely doesn't strike me as vain in that sense, although I wouldn't believe he doesn't feel a twinge of nostalgia or "what used to be" when looking in the mirror. He'd probably take an insult to his sniping abilities more personally than an insult from someone who might comment about him looking like Saren Jr.  Then again, he'd probably be pissed at being likened to Saren, but because of who and what Sarenwas and did rather than looks.

But yeah, in a way he is "becoming like Saren" insofar as how he is on the outside...but I think the player can help drive whether he truly becomes "more like Saren" within, by either encouraging his angry-renegade-driven-by-revenge side or by encouraging him to be the badass renegade-with-a-heart-of-gold.

Well, I don't think he is like Saren. I didn't mean that. I don't really even think renegade Garrus is like Saren. Even if you push him as renegade as you can then when Harkin confronts him about if it is his "style" to kill him than Garrus still doesn't. Even in his darkest moment, Garrus doesn't kill Harkin there and Saren would do so in a heartbeat. I just meant that the meeting with his father might be especially bitter. I don't think Garrus likens himself to Saren. I think he is more apt to be thinking about what his failures "mean," that is about his squad and Sidonis than he is to be lost in introspection. So he might angst but it is more in a "I let people down" way than a "I am becoming a bad person" way I think. Does that make sense? Anyway, I just think that it might be a shock for Papa V to see him like that when he specifically warned him about not becoming like Saren and I think the irony of the situation couldn't help but occur to both of them. I don't think the guy is vindictive or anything. The way Garrus describes him, he sounds more concerned and traditional than tyrannical and overbearing. I don't think he'd say something that nasty to Garrus. I just think it might be kinda lurking in the back of each of their minds when they meet back up again.

Also makes me wonder if Papa V even knows where he is, if he is alive, or anything like that. Dr. Michel and the Illusive Man make it sound like Garrus just vanished.

He isn't even squicked out by Garrus snuggling up with Mordin! :D

The other characters are getting their own Clan V now. :) Clan Solus, and I think I saw a Clan Zorah. (I joined Clan Solus, by the way.)

I don't think Garrus will become like Saren either... and I like Saren, so I'm not just saying that because I don't want it to happen. xD He might be more Renegade if Shepard keeps encouraging him though. I just can't see him with a vengeance against an entire species and putting people in danger on purpose, but I think he could become the type who wouldn't care about killing people like Harkin.

@Ragabul: Now that you mention metal under his bandages, I wonder if we will see Saren-stye cybernetics on his jaw/mandible. I've been wondering if Saren had them from an injury, since they're on the cover of Revelation before his Sovereign implants. I guess if Garrus takes his bandages off in ME3 and has something similar, I can assume that's the reason Saren has them.

RE: Garrus/Saren comparison...

I don't know if Garrus would make that connection, but in my mind, that's actually how FemShep feels. Despite my Shepard getting her face healed up, I've always imagined that ME2 she's starting to feel like a monster. They filled her up cybernetics and all kinds of crap to get her going again, and I think when she thinks about that she remembers Saren and what he became, remembers the husks she fights, wonders how many more hits she can take before she's not quite 'alive' anymore. In a weird way, I think she relates to Garrus more after the rocket-to-face incident, finds his presence more comforting. Because they've both been through things that should have killed them but didn't. I don't think she'd care what it would take to put him back together again, I think they'd be each other's support through that.

Yep, there's a Clan Zorah group and Clan Solus group. Member of both because I like both.

Well here's a question. Would you want something like that half of his face being pretty scarred?

I wouldn't mind scars or some kind of plating there, personally. But I'm one of those people who isn't bothered by the big bandage either, so yeah. I want him to keep the scars because they are way awesome. And I agree with what some other people have said, I could him refusing some kind of treatment because he still beats himself up over what happened.

I think the scars could be a visual reminder of just how atypical a Turian Garrus now is. I agree that Shepard might find that gives them something more in common - and the fact that they have both stared death in the face so closely. I like them though I'd rather see the bandage gone in ME3.

rofl. I haven't used the hammerhead yet (I'm behind on my DLC), but I can just imagine Shep getting behind the wheel and Tali/Garrus tensing up, and the other noob squaddie being all, 'What's your problem?' and not understanding the horror they're about to face... :P

The Hammerhead exploding was pretty creepy when I saw it the first time. There's nothing left of you and your squaddies. Nothing.

And I should know, I've blown it up many times in Overlord...(damn Geth Cannon *grumblegrumble*)

I don't mind the scars.  I do want the bandages off however.  It's not that they bother me.  I just don't think it makes sense for him to wear them forever and ever.  I don't want turian terminator.  Not so much because it is off-putting (though it probably would be) as because I think it would be over-the-top and melodramatic.  But I'm willing to deal with pretty extensive scarring.  I mean, ME has some pretty scarred up people running around, Wrex and even Mordin come to mind and they still look really cool.  And the look adds to the character.  So I want the scars to be there and I'd personally even vote yes on seeing some cybernetics.  I think it would be interesting.  But something somewhat subtle a la Saren.  Or like my favorite Garrus pic:

The Geth Cannon killed a couple times, but after I got the hang out of it, it was actually fun. It's better than just spamming turrets at something like in the rest of the Hammerhead missions, anyway...

TIM brought Shepard back just the way she was. Bad driving skillz included. That's not really in the best interest of humanity... :P

I'd love the scars to stay. The bandages can go though, unless they're there to keep his face together.

Never seen that fanart before! It's really good. O_O

Hrm. I like the scarring, but I reeeeally don't like the circle there. It looks like a big hoop earring. ::clears throat:: If it had more cyber-parts around it or was a different shape, I'd be okay with that.

I love Sheapard's legendary bad driving and legendary bad dancing in an exasperated but affectionate kind of way.

rofl.

<Garrus> ::twitches as he removes himself from the wreckage of the hammerhead, then turns to Miranda:: You put all of this tech inside her and you couldn't give her a service patch for her piloting skills??
<Miranda> ::too startled to argue about the merits and uses of the Lazarus Project:: I'll.. get on it...
<Shepard> ::ruffles the charred bits of metal from her hair:: Come on, guys! It's not that bad!

Love that picture but I agree about the cybernetic thing - looks too much like a pirate earring to me.

I think the hammerhead should come with L plates!

I kept confusing the boost button and the jump button during that sequence. It was...unpleasant. :D

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I died a lot there. XD

@Raga: Shep's dancing skills have deteriorated though. That awkward Shepard shuffle is nothing like the ok dancing in ME1. Hell, even the 'bad' dance in Samara's LM looks better than that stupid shuffle. It's a pity we can't dance with our LI in ME2 like in ME1. I want to see Garrus dance! Like this.

Can I confess that after experiencing a fiery death one time too many I handed the controls to my husband who made the whole thing look like a cake walk. Now all I hear from him are smart assed comments about women drivers!

How did I miss that?! I was too stressed about failing Thane's mission to really look around. I just ran from door to door.

I'm not sure how flycam works, but if possible, someone needs to use it on that and get a close-up. Seriously.

I think a lot of the pirate earring thing is because it is shiny and blinking. That probably wouldn't do. Overall I still like the idea. Maybe just not round, shiny, and located in that specific spot.

It's also funny that Shep is screwing up the mission because she is so busy ogling that turian.
