I'm not sure even Brandon Keener loves his fans that much.

It's really cool the way he responds to people on facebook, though. It almost makes me want to break down and join it, but I hate facebook.

aha, you aren't missing much, it's basically a bunch of super obsessed people.

Ah, because this doesn't sound like any place I know of.

Haha Raga, that's the first thing I thought too

Well, I got a lot of crap to catch up on. Let's see.

Garrus sqaud: Nalah's Butler's husband, batarian tech expert, salarian former STG demo expert, Sidonis, some "former mercs who wanted to atone," and some former C-Sec operatives (unless he meant himself?) Huh, you don't suppose he knew some other C-Sec malcontents that he specifically contacted do you? That would be interesting. He also uses the phrase "my men" more than once so I think he really did mean his team was all male. I can think of a few places in game where Bioware actually goes out of its way to say things like "my troops" if there are females involved. If I had to guess, I'd say his team was mostly turians and humans. Seriously doubt any krogan or more batarians. Possibly more salarians, however.

As for extra content for LIs in ME3. I don't want anything really sentimental like that "go on a date stuff." I think that would be a bit much. I wouldn't mind them being permanently in your quarters, however. Definitely at least the ability to call them up. I"d also like their greeting to be something slightly different. Other than that they can behave exactly the same as a non LI with maybe just a few tweaks to dialog here and there. I also like the idea of them yelling something unique if Shepard is on the ropes or falls in combat. I think that would be interesting. And of course, as we have already all said numerous times, more squaddies banter and comments from NPCs that involve the relationship. Dancing would be fun but something I would never do. My Shep is too much of a hard-ass for that. She never gets drunk either, at least not off the ship. But I would probably do it one or twice for the lulz and other people would like it so by all means stick it in.

And I feel sorry for the Tali thread. That really sucks. I wonder if this is the end for real. Woo has issued a "permanent" band before, however. Maybe if they get themselves established in some group like Clan V and get used to talking about idle crap in there, than they can have a thread again. Clan V slowed this thread down, but it also means the thread hardly goes off topic for more than a page or so and we don't have a lot of chatroom type posts. That stuff is all in Clan V. Maybe this will work out for the Talimancers yet. Until then, we had probably be on extra high alert for off topic stuff just to be safe.

Right, even if your Shep wouldn't use it they can put it in for those that would. I think the it's less a high-priority want so much as, since they had dancing in the first two games, people are saying, 'next time the inevitably put it in, let us do it with our LIs and squaddies too'. I do agree I'm more interested in convos than things like that though, but I still want dancing and other fun easter egg-type add-ons too.

Still, yeah, if I had to choose I'd pick something like battle calls and banter like you suggested. But that requires recording dialogue, the dancing would just be a little animation bonus. ;)

EDIT: Pedpickle, that may be one of the creepiest things I've ever read.

I really can't wait for ME3 to see where they take Garrus and Shepard...

Me:  Please, please, please Bioware , make them a sexy spectre couple! I'm thinking Bonnie and Clyde in space! They kick ass, have adventures, it would be so cool, please , please make it happen!

Bioware: Well nothing has been finalized yet, we're still working on the script and-

Picard: MAKE IT SO

Bioware: Um ok, space Bonnie and Clyde then...

Picard: And make it sexy. None of this fading to black business when the good part is about to happen, this isn't the sopranos

Bioware: Ok, ok, and we’ll make it sexy

Me: YAY! Thanks Mr Picard!

Picard:  You're welcome young lady. Now, I must be off

Me: Where will you go now Mr Picard?

Picard: To find more nerdy fans like yourself and make their dreams come true. I think there’s a convention down the street...

Me: Will I ever see you again?

Picard: Maybe someday, if you wish hard enough *magically flies off*

This the very reason I leave the poor guy alone.  I don't think it's bad to drop funny art and stuff on him to see what he thinks, but just hanging around posting stuff like that is really creepy.  And I don't want the poor guy to get freaked out and stop dealing with the people that aren't so creepy.  I have a facebook account but didn't friend him and the only time I look at his page is when Xsause or somebody posts something funny just so I can see his reaction.  Obsessing over fictional person as an idle hobby is one thing and can be construed as creepy I admit, but at least I am not hurting anybody.  Obsessing over real guy and leaving him creepy messages....yea, that's WAY too far.

That is so awesome. Why on Earth would they cut something with so much WIN? It answers like fifteen questions we have been wondering about AND it's hilarious. Confirms no boobs on female turians. Confirms turians not having much alcohol and by extension wine in romance scene was probably human. Confirms turians can drink human alcohol to begin with. Confirms turians think boobs are weird. Come on, Bioware, what were you thinking on that one? I've just gone into information junkie heaven.

I think about a dozen of Garrus/Shep fanfic-ers just simultaneously pumped their fists in the air and shouted 'I knew it!' with the boobs thing. ::snicker::

It's also really cool that we had come up with a lot of the same conclusions ourselves without confirmation. That's awesome. Maybe some of our other speculation is also more accurate than we thought.

Don't feel sorry :P I'm a Tali fan (not a "Talimancer" though) and they totally deserved it. It just seems that our little group cant stay on topic, and then when the trolls start trolling it all goes to hell. Woo was completely right in locking that thread, and now there will probably be a couple week break period. I just hope that the fans haven't killed Tali (in BW's eyes) through all this rule breaking.

Anyway back on topic, I hear Garrus is awesome yes?

Turian information! :D Wow. Everyone in the Garrus thread and Clan V needs to see this.

Also, I have a few FemSheps who would probably Renegade interrupt slap him for that "funny bumps" comment... and he lies about the dancing. xD

You heard right, xlavaina! Garrus is the man. The, uh, turian-man.

About the alcohol bit: Even if they don't have a lot of types of alcohol on turian planets, Garrus has been working on the citadel for a while, I'll bet he's gotten a taste for it. It's nice to know both he and FemShep can share that wine, <3

@Kim Shepard: My Shep would've had to hold in her laughs about the 'funny bumps'. She wouldn't have been offended at all. It would've been more awkward with Garrus in the squad, though.

I don't think the devs let that stuff get under their skin. Well, Priestly kinda acts like it does his sometime...
But I never got impressions from either Woo and especially Gaider over on the DA2 boards that it bugs them. Every official statement I have seen from them is that they expect certain behaviors from fans and it is kinda old hat. And I think they are smart enough not to see silly fan behavior and then project their dislike of that onto the character in question. At least I hope they are smart enough no to do that. Mostly I think they just get fed up with crap muddying up the forums and having to slog through hundreds of pages of posts and so on. I don't think they are gonna "punish" people for being exuberant and silly by removing characters or content from the games. That's just spiteful and would be a stupid way to make games. Bioware knows better than that. And the main reason I say I felt sorry for them is because a lot of stupid Tali-hate people are gonna take this as some kind of perverse victory and that might now be the dominant way Tali is discussed on the forums which would of course be awry and inaccurate. I just want to still be able to bring up Tali somewhere without a bunch of "we got read of that crap, take it Clan Z." I mean, she is still an ME character and should be a valid topic for discussion on the boards.

And to stay on topic, it's odd that so many turians really obviously don't mind the asari. I wonder how common that is? Bachelor party guy seemed to explain he liked asari mainly because of a lack of turian women on Ilium. I bet turians on the Citadel, Omega, and places like that are the ones more likely to develop attraction to asari or be open to the idea. Good for us then, I guess that Garrus spent so much time on the Citadel and Omega. Must have gotten used to it.

And my femshep would have thought the "funny bumps" thing was funny.  She'd have probably asked Garrus what he thought about it afterwards just to see his awkward and funny response.

Obviously they don't mind the asari because the asari use mind-control on them! And the groundskeeper happens to be immune to it. ;)

EDIT: If didymos1120 found squad reactions to the 'funny bumps' comment, I think I'd die of laughter.

My MainShep would have found it funny too, and have to try very hard not to laugh after hearing that. xD She does have a temper, but most turians are immune. The turian in Chora's Den who asked her if she was going to be dancing later would get a happy "So turians do like humans?!" kind of response, while the batarian who suggested the same thing on Omega got a gun in his face. I have another FemShep who would definitely laugh, one who would probably just stare at him and facepalm after she walks away, one who wouldn't even get the joke, and two who would definitely slap him. I keep thinking I'm forgetting someone...

I really wish asari WERE mind manipulators and that they didn't look like blue humans in reality. I would tolerate their existence more if that was the case. It would explain how they are able to get all those species to become attracted to them. I just can't buy the "asari are just hawt" excuse because here's the problem, why aren't female humans sought after just as much? I get they are able to have sex with any species without problems, I get that, but I'm talking strictly physical attraction here. They are almost EXACTLY the same physically so then female humans should be considered just as attractive. Bioware could have redeemed themselves if there was a big twist, that the asari had a big secret that they tell no one, that  they trick other species in order to mix their genes more effectively.

I like this explanation best as well, it seems the most plausible considering the vast differences in races. Plus, I find it complete hypocricy to think of them anything other than strictly female when they have full, pouty lips, long lashes, round faces and those funny bumps... But most asari fans get all up in arms if you take it as anything other than a joke.

In any case, if they -are- blue-colored space-humans, it would at least explain why everyone wants a piece of FemShep.

EDIT: And just so this is OT.. I like to think not -everyone- is attracted to the asari, regardless. I want to believe Garrus included them in his 'never thought of other species that way' thing.

@Hyrule

Yes, I wish that was the case as well. In fact, I pretend that IS the case just because it makes the asari more tolerable for me. I like that there is a kinda/sorta out for people who find the asari completely immersion breaking. I also sometimes think that sex with an asari might be almost narcotic with other species. A very unique experience that can't be duplicated anywhere else. So maybe it's not attraction to the asari on a physical level so much as attraction to what an asari can you on a mental level. Liara kinda implies that an asari sorta melds with your whole nervous system which could mean some intense enjoyable sensory overload.

Well, even bachelor party turian basically implied he was using asari as a last resort because there were so few turian women on Ilium.  Also, I'm sure that in turian controlled areas, you'd probably see more turian females displayed provocatively than just asari.  Asari seem to be preferred in multicultural areas which kinda makes sense when you consider asari, humans, batarians, and drell all have bodies at least somewhat similar to each other.  Salarians wouldn't really care and the other races are rare and/or don't seem the type to go for dancing anyway.  Turians really do seem like the only group really being left out.

I don't think Garrus was ever interested in the asari. It sounds like he never considered anyone who wasn't a turian besides FemShep.

No, I meant the merc recruiter who thought she was a stripper. xD He and the turian both thought she should be dancing with those asari strippers, and the batarian got her typical angry/violent response while the turian's comment just made her happy that some turians do find humans attractive. (Of course, that turian was drunk.)

Wow, I was just looking through RiotLaFontaine's screencaps, and there was one of Garrus from Jacob's loyalty mission (I think?) where the lighting reflected in his eyes just so, and I don't often say this about video game graphics, but it was breathtaking. The majority of players may not find Garrus physically attractive, but I daresay with (nearly) complete objectivity that he has the most lovely eyes of anyone in the entire game.

Here's a catch up post!

kglaser wrote...

I considered that, and I believe it would have worked for me, as well...but after thinking a rather long time about it I decided it would be OOC for my Shepard.  I wanted to keep it as professional as I could, and unfortunately, that left out a LOT of dialogue--if I had said ONE more thing to him, the conversation would have ended with one of those dialog wheels where all the choices say *the same thing*.   Man those bug me.

So your Shepard is the professional type? Yeah, if it works for the character, then extra dialogue needs to be sacrificed. I've pretty much decided that MaleShep is going to the Hot Labs first. I know he'll miss out on a lot, but it just works for him.

Heh, the "unwelcome flirting" part reminded me of that turian with the ship and the mate but he only brought one...was that Ogrinn?  Haha, what a sleaze ball :wizard:

I didn't know he had a name. xD Was he flirting? I'll have to see if he says the same thing to MaleShep... or maybe he's flirting with FemShep and bragging to MaleShep. They should at least have interrupts for these kind of things - the Consort, Shiala, Parasini. Renegade interrupts. My Shepards take the "unwelcome" part very seriously. Shepard #7 would break out the pistol on these people who think they have the right to touch him.

If you go to the Hot Labs first, is there a big firefight and everyone is shooting at you?  Or is that only if you let the rachni queen live before trying to do the other subquests?  It's been too long since I did the HL first, and that was only one time.  I just remember one playthrough resulting in me getting furiously attacked, LOL
Ooh I just remembered...Turian Scientist Guy is there!  Yaaay!  I remember I was excited to discover him before :P

That's right. After going to the Hot Labs, Captain Ventralis and his team attack because they were working for Benezia all along, just like that asari commando who appears in the cure room.

Turian scientist guy is awesome. :D He tells that volus that if he has to be crazy, he should at least be the quiet kind. And he used to watch horror vids before lights out. He's also the only turian I've ever seen who uses "God" as an expression.
