I love it when Garrus is under the lights in the corridor there. He is usually sorta lurking in shadows so you hardly ever get a really good look at his face. Of course, the shadows make his eyes do this cool/badass glow thing, so I'm not really complaining.

Yay, Zaeed talking! Because I can only see him talk here and on youtube. xD Poor MainShep doesn't know what she's missing. Well, neither does Zaeed... I bet he'd like to work with a revenge-supporting, batarian-hating, action movie style kill-loving Shepard. (She loves those Renegade interrupts, and Zaeed's heat sink popping fiery explosion from his loyalty mission. MainShep approves +100.)

Just to make this on-topic, I wonder what Garrus would think of MainShep cheering Zaeed on during his loyalty mission...

I don't think he'd approve of all the collateral damage.

Yep, feral glow/badass eyes suit Garrus pretty well.  But then I can't see the blue.  It's a shame.

I think he would say, "That's a little extreme, Commander." xD MainShep has been encouraging him to go Renegade these past two games. She would think of Zaeed as a combination of Saren (and I think we all know how she feels about Saren), her favorite action movie characters, her own hate towards the batarians, and she would want him to be her best friend. Too bad Garrus and Zaeed probably wouldn't get along.

So did you guys let Garrus shoot Harkin in the leg? Even the people who spared Sidonis? Even though I'm mostly a paragon player, I just can't stand Harkin! I never forgot what that sleazeball said to me in ME1 so I let Garrus shoot him in my canon playthrough as a paragade. Is he a bad guy? Yup. Has he been trying to kill us? Yup. Does Garrus kill him if he shoots him? Nope. So I let him have that one. Unlike Miranda, Jack and Mordin, if you don't paragon interupt or say something paragon they will end up killing people, Garrus doesn't in that case. Plus I just plain hate Harkin ^_^.

My paragade lets him do it, but she is kinda weird.  I'm one of the few people I know of who doesn't push Garrus completely renagade or paragon.  I go half and half on him.  He ends up renegade in ME1, but I push him paragon on Sidonis.  It's hard to explain.  Anyway, I let him shoot Harkin.  That is in fact the moment when my paragade decides his head is in a weird place and he doesn't have the lack of bias and objectivity needed to ethically pull off an execution.  It makes that whole "you were pretty hard on Harkin" statement even more meaningful if Garrus just shot him.  She's not shedding tears for Harkin though.  She thinks he's a scumbag.  She's more concerned with Garrus' state of mind over Sidonis.  Strangely enough, if Garrus had asked her to shoot Sidonis for him, she'd have done it.  She just doesn't want him to do himself because she thinks in his current state of mind, it is unhealthy and unethical.

Depands on his moral. If you turned him into a Paragon, he would most likely be surprised and talk to you. If he was turned more renagade, he would agree with you.

People who would agree on saving the hostages:
Samara
Thane
Tali
Jacob
Kasumi
Paragon Garrus

People who would not agree on savinbg them:
Miri
Mordin
Renagade Garrus
Jack
Zaeed
Grunt

Ones I am unsure about:
Kasumi
Legion

oh and hai Garrus fans, long time no see!

There used to be a thread for this... but when I tried looking, I couldn't find it. There was a lot of information there, even a way to give Shepard TIM eyes in different colors.

Kim Shepard wrote...So, I saw a few of you guys mention Fallout... Do you think I would like this game? I want to know if I should consider buying it whenever I get around to buying Oblivion.

I don't know, Kim...if you'd like to try Fallout 3 first, you could get a used one much cheaper probably. Personally, I find it Oblivion-caliber addictive. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png
And whoever designed the Hot Labs 'run-for-the-elevator' level in ME1, I say this: The game is fantastic, but that particular level inspires amounts of homicidal rage I didn't even know I had in my body. I curse you all. May your socks eternally fall down every 5 minutes.

Picking up some of the threads here.

Kim, I think that Fallout 3 is absolutely addictive- I am not one of those who says 'oh yes that will be about x number hrs gameplay if you pace yourself.' Fallout 3 with the 5 DLC is easilyover 100 hours because I like to explore everything and there is a lot to explore. As far as roleplaying, yes, you can do that with the Karma system and the connection to the past with the Lone Wanderer's father. No LIs to speak of though. I recommend this game but beware- it will take over your life if you let it. The fighting and exploring are great, the story is strong and the visuals/music are terrific. Play Fallout 3 before October's release of New Vegas and see what you think. If you play, be sure to get the Game of the Year edition and install all of the DLC as well, especially Broken Steel, to get the best from the main story arc.

Noveria: I just finished that on insanity and it is insane. i'm glad Eleni Shepard is benefiting from the XP and other bonuses Chani earned her- else this would be much harder. Here, as elsewhere, I found myself wishing for some mines, like I had in Fallout 3. It's odd that there are no mines in Mass Effect, at least for planetside missions.

With Benezia, I had Kaidan and Liara this time. They are a pretty good team but no matter what, Benezia is tough. Parts that were harder the other PTs weren't; it was the entire fight and that is a long time to keep yourself alive through so many different attacks/foes. Instead of hiding behind things as in all the other PTs, I charged in then went to the right behind the Rachni Queen's enclosure after the first wave. I get all full of adrenaline and don't always think- but I sent Kaidan ahead for the remaining Geth, etc. and it was okay. A little strategy goes a long way. I had to reload  for the fight plenty o' times though.

kglaser wrote... I just had a horrible thought: I can't even imagine Hot Labs on Insanity. Aieeee!! XD

It's nervewracking. I wanted their socks to not only fall down but have foxtails in them- after the repeated deaths and reloads- I had to time the mix of getting the first wave of rachni out of the way then run like hell while having enough medigel to boost myself before dying from the toxic spittle. Playing this as a Vanguard instead of a Sentinel is much better- I used adrenaline to recharge all abilities, giving me the ability to continue hurling and lifting rachni while sprinting to elevator- and to medigel an additional dose if needed.

*Has anyone ever done Virmire before Noveria? I never have but the option came up this time. I'm playing similarly to ME2 in getting all of the missions done before the main quests so I'm getting a lot of conversations that I got before Ilos although I haven't been to Virmire yet. In other words, the main story is moving faster than I am, but hey, why not pillage a warehouse while the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance? xD

It's weird how the different ammos became either their own weapons or abilities in ME2- like cryo ammo to the Avalanche and incendiary ammo to Incinerate/Incendiary Grenade. I'd like to have the Avalanche in ME1.
But- to make this connect to the thread- I have Garrus with me!

Oooooooo. That makes sense. I really didn't see the difference between the ME1 and ME2 Tali's though.

LOL ya I got some people confused when I put Tali in my least fav list, people thougfht I hate tali, which is not the case. I just did't like how Bioware took her character in ME2. With Garrus however I loved where they took his character.

I think Gabby and whatshisname should give Garrus that Cufflink thing that made it so they only had to calibrate every week instead of everyday. Except for Garrus, it's everyday instead of every hour.

Thanks for the Fallout advice, guys. I won't be able to play the DLC unless it's in the form of an expansion pack though - I don't download anything, not even for Mass Effect (which is why I like seeing all these Zaeed screenshots, because he's not in my game). I don't even think I've heard of the Fallout series before #3 came out. Which system do they play on?

@Hyrule_Gal: Most of my Shepards will let him shoot Harkin. MainShep even said she would have done worse than shoot him in the leg. She goes Renegade on most of the loyalty missions, actually. It seems like anyone who called be killed will be killed, except for that turian politician from Thane's mission.

@kraidy: I agree about the squadmates' opinions there. And I think Legion can be added to the "people who wouldn't save the hostages" list.

@Pacifien: Awesome, you found it. I wouldn't attempt to mod my copy (I just know that would end badly), but it would be helpful for a lot of people.

@Aricle: I've never tried it, but I guess the reason would be that Benezia has to give Shepard the location of the relay. I can't think of a reason to play Feros after Virmire though. Is there anything required there that I'm forgetting? I did the same thing with conversations for Garrus, Wrex, and Tali, by the way. I'll have to talk with them less often on my replay so there not giving their "it's close to the end" talks too early.
