The Garrus action figure is coming in series 2, but it's not available for pre-order yet.

Hey Andy... posts like that are what killed the Tali thread.

Been quiet today. Lotta people are burning their energy in the PS3 thread rather than professing their Garrus and turian love in here. ;)

Do you s'pose turians use their leg spurs for combat still, or are they vestigial enough that it doesn't work that way anymore?

Was there ever any evidence that they used them? Posted Image Because they 1) don't look pointy enough to be dangerous, 2) are probably flexible, because otherwise, they wouldn't be able to put their trousers on; so if they're flexible, they're probably not for combat, and 3) not positioned in a practical way for combat at all (they're pretty much behind their knees).

Yeah, I can't imagine the leg spurs being used in combat... except in a very strange roundhouse kick. xD I doubt it would do any more damage than a regular kick though. Their feet look more powerful, like when Garrus was crushing Harkin.

I would have to agree with Nilf - especially if they are flexible (no pun intended ;-) my own theory is that they are more like the soft cartilage material like you would find in fish. Anything harder and it would be awkward to wear armor or even soft clothing.

I was thinking they might be bony because of rooster spurs. If they're cartilage, you could really do some fast damage by trying to bend an opponent's spur the wrong way, though.

Turians would get lots of ripped pants if it was solid bone I think, :P Well if they where sharp enough to be used as weapon definitely.

(MC Woo said it was because it was more troupbe then it was worth, IE it generated too much reports each day for him to handle. So win one from the haters it seems.)

@Kim I usually can't think of that Roadhouse kick being done by anybody else other than Patrick Swayze or Peter Griffin! However I could see turians doing it, their feet do look dangerous, and if their spurs are nasty as Cia thinks, it could be a powerful combination.

I thought the spurs were off to the side of the leg or they'd poke themselves in the ass when they crouched. Most of the animations I've seen have them lining up with the outside of the thigh.

My idea for their use? Sex. Oh, get your minds out of the gutter. NOT like that. More like something that would help hold the female in place... or something, or help her stay in place. Like turtles, for instance, the male's claws are longer than the female's claws in the back for gripping onto the shell during mating.

If female turians don't have spurs, well... I'd say they're for sex. Heck, even if female turians have them, they're still probably for sex. ;)

I'm not married to this idea, it's just a thought.

But...but that's what I'm for!
And witty one liners.
and the occasional decapitation...
and the occasional need to say "you may fire when ready"

Yeah, but they're still very awkwardly positioned to be actively usable in a fight. Even if a roundhouse kick is involved, I'd think simply using their feet would be much more effective.

It's a little odd to be holding the female in place by the legs, but why not. I also thought turian hips were particularly suitable for that kind of thing. Very handy for hooking one's legs around...ahem Posted Image

If female turians have them too, it's just a "but I'm stuck!" situation waiting to happen...

HAAAA

Seriously though I think someone actually posted a masskink prompt for that........*smirks knowingly at other thread regular*

Anyhow mind outa the gutter now, spurs/no spurs could be a way of differentiating male and female turians.

People shouldn't take advantage of his awesome willingness to interact with fans.

I must of missed that - what did they say kg?

Found it!  Pedpickle posted this on page 333 (Pedpickle had NOTHING to do with being the originator of this quote, so don't think that by mistake!)

I shall quote someone from his page.
"Hypothetical question: Should we ever meet in life and decide to have a
one night stand, would you talk like Garrus to me? Because that would
be awesome."
