Right, I'm off to play some ME1. I have decided to try to romance Kaiden ''for science''. Although I am still undecided - if it isn't a success there is always Virmire...mwah ha ha.

He just doesn't do it for me...and his hair doesn't move (sorry Kaidenites. I am sure he is awesome). I always start with good intentions and then I end up hanging around the Mako...just cos...

Why are turian feet so weird anyway? It's like they're walking around on invisible heels all the time. Lady Gaga would envy them. I'm a biological n00b, but since they're walking on 2 legs, those feet look a bit out of place.
Weird feet, but still awesome of course.

Well, they look a lot like raptor feet, so it doesn't feel all that weird to me. Of course, turians would have a completely different body balance to raptors, so I don't know if that kind of foot structure would actually work for a bipedal upright species. But yeah, I think they put the foot shape in to enhance the dinosaur parallel.

On a completely different note, I saw that popular Tali art (the one Andaius has in his sig) posted on a different forum, and of course, someone *had* to comment that it looked too human, and that they were hoping Tali would turn out looking like an inhuman monster, just "to ****** off all the weirdoes obsessed with the Tali romance".

It made me sad Posted Image Seriously, what is it with the immature reactions? I've never seen anyone get so vindictive over the hordes of people who obsess over Sephiroth, for example, and yet Tali catches so much hate just because some people happen to be a bit too enthusiastic about her. It's not like it's the character's fault...

Sorry, /rant.

I really love turian feet, but yeah sometimes it does look like they are on tip toes.

As for the ant-Tali bashing that's been going on it's all a bit ridiculous, and frankly quite childish when you see some of the antics that have been going on. I actually saw on these forums someone suggest hacking into another Tali site. When people start suggesting things like that the moderators really do need to step in. All a bit sad really, and carried out by obviously as you say Nilf, immature people.

It will be a sad day if these same people start doing it to other characters and really destroy the forums for the rest of us that don't do this sort of crap.

Anyhow sorry for my rant.

On a more positive note I think I am going to play ME1 again - but I thought I might give another class a go, anyone played sentinel class?

Sentinel's my favourite class!

It has a great mix of both biotic and tech talents, but you don't get any weapon talents unless you use one as your bonus talent. You do get marksman (the pistol talent) when you fill the class talent, but I've seen a lot of people complain that it's 'too little too late'. Personally, I had no problems, but then I prefer to use powers and only shoot if I'm waiting for everything to recharge :P

Sentinel does get better in ME2 - but all the classes do, IMHO. I still had a lot of fun with it in ME1. You should give it a try (but I'm biased).

Hey Chim, yeah you can get that fav class thing going - my Vanguard crazily charging at enemies was lots of fun in ME2! It was a big improvement on Vanguard from ME1 I just hope I can get over the use of weapons thing for sentinel though, but I'll do it, for science!!

Considering that biotics absolutely pwn the living daylights out of ME1, I'm pretty sure that the Sentinel's lack of weapon talents should be a moot point. I've never tried it myself, but it sounds like a more versatile version of Adept.

Yeah, ME1 has a problem in that, at higher levels, you're practically invincible, and enemies go down in one or two shots anyway, which creates a disincentive to use anything but your weapons. ME2 is more balanced in that respect. Which is a good thing.

Infiltrator's better in ME2 as well...I am almost never using my sniper rifle in 1, but in 2 you'll have to pry it uot of Meche's cold, dead hands!! :D

And Rebe, a resounding agreement about your Photoshop prowess from me...it's completely seamless! :)

This. I decided to try Infiltrator with my ThaneShep in ME1 after first trying it out in ME2, and it was pretty disappointing. I find it much harder to use the SR in open combat in ME1, for some reason.

Thirded.

Speaking of Photoshop: are there some templates for making banners or something like that? I'd like to try my hand at making one, but starting from scratch is a little daunting.

I'm a pretty dedicated Kaidan fan. Love the voice and just that he's a good guy.  the hair bump?  yeah.  Its a little odd.
In ME2, I get Garrus first of the non DLC squadmates and take him with me everywhere because he's the only one my femSheps really trust of the group.  And I take him to Horizon for moral support.  I just wish he could give my femshep some comfort after the whole Horizon debaucle.  But the poor guy tends to have foot-in-mouth disease with femshep (which is rather endearing)

I have a question for you all.  I always assumed that Garrus was older.  But it was suggested that he really is on the young adult side for a turian.  Do you all know what his approximate age is and what life expectancy is for turians?

In ME1, Garrus was in his twenties. We guessed he was around 26-28. That would make him about 28-30 in ME2.

Turians have roughly the same life expectancy as humans.

Hah, his age :D. Yeah, we still don't know for sure. Most of us think he's younger than Shep, but this is only based on his personality and the things he says in ME1. I've seen it mentioned in the old thread that one of his writers said that Garrus was definitely in his 20's in ME1 or something, but I don't think I've ever seen the source of that.

I've made an executive decision for Loved and saying he's 27 in ME1 and 29 in ME2.

Oh, and Hiya, Jade!

So does this mean it's safe to assume that female turians don't have leg spurs?

That sounds about right. Ironically enough, that also technically makes him the same age as Shepard in ME2, since she/he's been dead for 2 years and is thus still 29, rather than the chronological 31.

And yeah, turians supposedly have the same life expectancy as humans.

Nope, time still passed.  She still had birthdays, whether she was there for them or not.  Her birth year didn't change.  She's 32-33.  He's still younger. :D

Well, seeing him as younger than I used to changes how I look at the character.  His impulsive tendancies make more sense than if he was older and more seasoned.

She just has the body of a 29 year old--well, sort of since most 29 year olds don't have the bone implants and skin weave, etc.

Yeah.. but there's not much difference between a 29 year old's body and a 32 year old's. Especially if your life-expectancy is 150.

She's still at least 2 years older than Garrus.

Where is it officially stated that turians have lifespans comparable to those of humans? Is it on the Wiki? (sorry, having an attack of laziness here) :P

Well, that depends on how you define age. In purely physiological terms, however long she spent not being alive is time that didn't pass for her body.

Yeah, it's on the Wiki and confirmed by one of the developers.

A dev on the old boards said this. Yes, it's on the wiki, you lazy KG :P. (w00t, I'm rhyming)
