I suck at it too most of the time. That' why I had never seen that bit of Garrus dialog before. I always felt like a fiend there. I always intend to let the guy die and then I get there and I always save him instead. I have a VERY hard time being mean or letting people who need help die. That's why I came up with that renegade explanation for a paragon action. It lets me save him and not feel guilty, but it also means my paragade isn't acting out of character.

I completed all of the romances in Mass Effect just recently, so I think I'm o.k. now playing any kind of Shepard.

I always give that batarian the medi-gel. I'm such a nice person. :P

The extra dialogue you get at the end if you sent Mordin's assistants after him is well worth it. Bit of a Crowning Moment of Heartwarming, really.

I also can't let the wheezy salarian in Thane's RM die. So if, by chance, a decision in ME3 comes along where it's either Shepard's happiness or that of the galaxy as a whole...screw you, Shepard. That's how weak a person I am.

It better not be. I hate sad endings. In other news I recently watched the ending to "The Mist."

:(

Yeah I hate sad endings.

I liked the book's ending much better. No one died.

I was pumped my first time in Dragon Age thinking:

Cool just bump off the AD and cakes all around!

Then Riordian happened,

Then Morrigan happened

Then this happened:

Sadly if its the galaxy vs. Shepard's life, then sadly I will chose the galaxy each time.

If Garrus lost Shep though I think he would most likely run off find as many baddies as possible and go out in a blaze, cant see him wanting to live after losing shep, after he loved her.

Maybe. That is kind of what he did on Omega - so it seems.

Yeah I'd hate to sacrifice Shepard's happiness, but I'd probably do it for the good of the galaxy. I just hope that when they said ME3 would be lighter they meant the ending too!

Me too. Shepard dying at the end of the trilogy would just be depressing and unfair.

Well even if it's male shep dying, he would still be like that, probably topple all three of the mercenary groups before going out

I mean I'd have a hard time picturing Shepard getting married and settling down to a normal life, but at least a warm fuzzy ending with your choice of LI (Garrus baby!!!) would be nice.  Perhaps a diplomatic post?  Seat on the council for both??  Anything that doesn't eave me feeling all depressed after all this time!

Yeah it's fun to roleplay my colonist/warhero shepard when deiding on whether to save the Batarian, though I'm such a softie I end up saving him every time. Though I'm kinda disappointed we didn't see more Batarians in ME2, they seem to be used more often than not as the always chaotic evil race. We've got Batarian extremists (Bring Down the Sky, Jacob's iphone game), Batarian Slavers (attacked Mindoir, collected kids like Jack to be experimented on), Batarian Pirates (attacked Elysium, war hero backstory), all that's missing are those corrupt politician Batarians who run their home systems like a dictatorship in order to round out this nice spectrum of evil.

Depends on the Shepard I suppose. I know my main Shepard has been through trauma (Colonist/Sole Survivor) and wants a chance to finally have a normal life. My Garrus romancing Shepard though wants to keep on fighting. Battle couple!

Agreed. I want a happy ending. Especially since this is a trilogy.

Collider, you're avatar is confusing. I keep thinking "who's that Kaidanite that's started posting" and then I"m like "oh wait, it's Collider."

I think a vague open-ended text style epilogue is in order for Shep. Something about riding off into the sunset with your LI. Then people can imagine whatever they like depending on their Shep's personality. My Shep would go on fighting until she died. She'd never settle down. But other people could then imagine that diplomatic position or settling down and some silly fanfic authors could even imagine mutant babies if they like. *crosses herself at mention of mutant babies and begs Garrus thread's forgiveness*

I saw someone using the Inferno armor avatar in Clan Z so I decided to change it.

I'm not sure I want text style. I want some sort of ending cutscene for the romances.

Yeah but not so open ended and vague an ending that you kind of feel that you were cheated of a sense of accomplishment at the end of the series. I'm all for letting people finish a story in their own heads, but I'd like it to end in a way that feels complete.

Well, a cutscene of them walking off into the sunset then.  Text doesn't bug me.  Must be the 1990s RPG player in me I suppose.  Heck, maybe even throw us a LI conversation where we talk about what we plan on doing after the grand finale. That would be fun.

@Collider

And you figured hardly any Clan V person would use Kaidan?  If so, that's funny.

Sounds fair.

Oh I know that there are Clan V people who use the Kaidan avatar. However, none of them seem to post or post regularly there.

I hope Bioware does something like that, such as a conversation where Garrus asks "What do you plan on doing when all this is over?" and you could choose your favourite option. I really don't want it to be like the DA:O ending where we got some text screens about the characters. It wouldn't fit for Mass Effect which is more cinematic, show don't tell right?

Well, as I said, text doesn't bother me as I am used to text endings for RPGs.  It's pretty standard.  And it allows for a lot of different endings depending on what you did.  It's a lot easier to spit out a custom paragraph than a custom cutscene.  Don't get me wrong.  Custom cutscene is even better if they have the time and resources to do it, but general cutscene+tailored text to me is better than "vague cutscene where the galaxy applauds for you if you were the good guy while your LI stands next to you."  That's usually the type of thing that Bioware has done at the end of their RPGs and without the text it always felt like "that's it?   I just killed Malak/Sun Hai/whoever and saved the world and all I got was thirty seconds of applause?"  Without the text shoring things up, I would have been very dipleased.  I like how DAO had one last squaddie conversation with everybody.  That would be a good touch.  I would still like text though.  I guess for nostalgia's sake.  Oh well.  I guess that means I'm an old fogey.  I guess I should go whine with the other old RPG fogeys on the DA2 boards now.:P

As an old fogey I could totally live with that - as long as the texts in the end actually matched what I'd decided in the game (unlike my DA experience).   I liked the way you could go talk to all the crew after the Omega 4 mission, though if they do let you continue with game play in the same way I'd like the standard responses to change at least for your LI.  Having Garrus tell me he was still willing to give it a go made me feel like he'd had all the wine and forgot what happened that night (or it was all so awful he blacked it from his memory).

Ha Raga, I've been trying to find a Z-machine interpreter that'll work on my phone so I can do Interactive Fiction on my coffee breaks. Old school = righteous. (well old school meets New School LOL) XD

Oh don't even get me started on how Garrus has nothing to say after the romance scene. They could have fixed that with one line of dialog like Tali had. How hard would that be? There are these few itty bitty things like that they could have done that would have made the Garrus romance nigh perfect. As is, it's like a scratch on the Mona Lisa which is all the more reason that it irks me. If the romance sucked, nobody would care. But the romance is excellent so little things like that stand out like a sore thumb.

Bah I didn't get 30 seconds of applause when I killed Malak!
I got the f*cking Starforge!...and legions of soldiers!....and *ahem* Evil Bastila!
I just pretend that Kotor 2 didn't happen and have my nice "evily ever after" moment.
