I'm suddenly sad that turians can't puff up their fringe like a cockatoo's crest when they're alarmed.

Exaaactly. :3 Sometimes I think their mandibles are like cat tails...only on their faces. Granted, I'm sure they have full control over their movement, but a part of me finds such an idea amusing.

Is it bad that I secretly imagine this happening to turians when they're really, really happy? My budgie used to puff up his forehead feathers when he was really happy. And then he'd shake them out. It was the most adorable thing.ciaweth wrote...

That's one of the things I like about turians - their expressions. They're so alien, but most of the time it's easy to tell which emotions they're feeling just from the look on their faces. When Nihlus saw Sovereign, that was definitely his "wtf is that?!" face.

I really do hope Garrus is in it, and I hope they use the same CGI that was used in District 9 if you've ever seen it
If Garrus (or any turians) were in it (assuming it happens), I might support that. The CGI in District 9 is as close to flawless as anything I've ever seen. I was assiduously searching for anything fake about those aliens and I couldn't find anything fake-looking...and I'm really picky about CGI.

Seriously though if their fringes moved as well as their mandibles I think they'd start looking more Predator like. Not sure that would work for me.

I assumed this was the case, considering how Saren's looks, plus the variation of length and how they seem to crack and such, it would just make sense for them to continue to grow.Hazzel42 wrote...
I do wonder if their fringes grow continuously and need to be filed or if they're more like antlers and have a set length, also do they change as they mature eg from little stubs to long sweeping fingers.

That's one of the reasons I refuse to set foot in there even once. My thin skinned Garrus-lovin' heart can't take it.

As for the fringe being mobile, I personally imagine it as having to do with the skin involuntarily shifting or tightening at the base (similar to having goosebumps), causing them to briefly 'bristle', not a huge amount of movement involved. You have to admit, it would be so cute!
