Hmm...well, there was this *one* fic... ;)

Oh I so know where your mind went - I'd forgotten about that one until you mentioned it!

Ok to get back on topic a bit more, do you think fringes are fixable i.e. if you break one it will regrow?

No I don't think it would regrow. The Krogan and the Vorcha seem to be the races that can regenerate.

Yeah but if fringes are like our fingernails or rhino horn it might be possible to slowly regrow it if the root isn't damaged.

I could buy this idea.  I don't think the exoskeleton is stiff like bone.  I think it is flexible to some degree so something like that might could make sense.

So if the fringe is like hair, could there be any bald turians?

Haven't seen anything like that in ME, but the skin on Kuril's fringe seemed all cracked up.  Maybe it does that instead.

Hah, do turians need fringe moisturizer?

Perhaps like aged finger nails or horn, the fringe develops ridges and cracks.  Would be a helpful way to visually guage the rough age of a Turian since they don't look like they can wrinkle too easily, go bald or grey

Hmm. I'm not sure if they'd be able to absorb moisture like that if they're metallic..?

But I actually like the idea that females have smoother plates because they sand/buff out those cracks and such that make the males look more rugged, much like human females do more 'maintenance' than men do. Thoughts?

I always thought it would be funny if female turians painted their talons or something or kept them more trimmed than the males did, but turians seem really practical so I don't know how prone to that kind of thing they would be. I think they are pretty utilitarian, male and female.

And the plate/fringe cracking thing, I think it might be a sign of age as well. Or at least I like that idea to signify aging. I always thought Kuril was getting along in years.

It could be that a female turian fringe looks like an asari's. The turian at the bachelor party makes that comparison.

I'm suddenly sad that turians can't puff up their fringe like a cockatoo's crest when they're alarmed.

Is it bad that I secretly imagine this happening to turians when they're really, really happy? My budgie used to puff up his forehead feathers when he was really happy. And then he'd shake them out. It was the most adorable thing.

I would love to see that , maybe turian head scales seperate into finer scales so they look more feathery, I did a quickie sketch of turian fridnge puffing LOL

I just got a picture in my head of a turian drawing a power tool for smoothing metal over her cheek sending sparks flying. As for cracks being a sign of age I doubt it somehow as Garrus is described as being young and he still have some cracks in his hide. Anyway this is the furure and a race much more technicaly advanced than humans so I suppose they can look as young as they want to. But I get the feeling that the practicaly minded turians are not the type to spend much effort on their looks.

Fridge puffing... So Garrus is a cockatoo now?

And I spent around 10 minutes trying to access this thread, but for some odd reason it says i've accessed an invalid or unreadable forum.

Hey guys, it's me again! A lot has happened with Garrus and Candice since we last talked... they've been flirting much more often (thank goodness!). Garrus talked about cross-species intercourse, which was a little awkward at first, but I assured him everything was going to be fine. Later on after finishing Mordin's loyalty mission we talked more about "it" and he said he would do some "research" (watching porn videos?) and get back to me. There have been a few bumps along the road but overall I'd say we're going very smoothly. (just like Garrus! You smooth-talking, sexy bastard, you!)

Garrus' face is actually pretty damn smooth compared to other turians (eg. Li or Kuril), so I don't think it's all that far fetched to think the cracks could signify age.

But the idea of him puffing out his fringe is hilarious Posted Image As is the idea of Jack dissing him about a bad fringe day.

@ Jade: Even if they are doing that data mining seriously, I'm not saying your Shepard who romanced Kaidan should dump him for Garrus. Keep her faithful, by all means. I'm just saying you could make a brand new Shepard, keep her single in ME1, then have her romance Garrus in ME2. It's a different game, so it won't affect Kaidan's romance.

But even that is pretty much a moot point, since they did say they consider all romances to be equally important.

On a random note, my KaidanShep brought Grunt and Jack to the Derelict Reaper yesterday, and I heard her say a line I hadn't heard before. When they blow up the core and are discussing what to do with Legion, Shepard says something like "Tali said no one had ever captured a live geth before". Now I might be having a huge memory blank, but neither my GarrusShep nor my MaleShep brought Tali on the Derelict Reaper, and yet, I can't recall either of them saying that line. Maybe because I had Garrus along both times, and he actually disagreed about rescuing Legion? Neither Jack nor Grunt seemed to mind, so maybe that's why Shep had a different line.

I've seen this youtube clip and it made me wonder, does Garrus think that way when FemShep tries to hit him on the first time? XP

Hahah! Funnily I think Garrus had more to worry about than "funny bumps"

Also, that line doesn't make sense anyways. Go to the bachelor party on Illium and they mention how Asari change their appearance to look like whatever species is looking at them - even though the Salarian version of an Asari has a bellybutton o.o

*sigh* Asari don't change their appearance for the species viewing them. Rather they have elements of each species in their physiology: the turians still see breasts and belly buttons, for instance. They do not mind control other sapient beings or they'd revert to a different form when they died. That was merely something to poke fun at them with.
