Mordin mentions the possibility that asari being attractive by other species' standards may be caused by neurochemicals. It's probably something similar to dopamine.

I don't think turian fringe can actually move (at least not that much), but it's funny to think about. And I'm going with the theory that fringe only grows to a certain length depending on their genes. Saren's genes just have a lot of extra awesome.
I agree with the people who said the "cracks" on turian faces are a sign of age. I'm guessing that it just gets worn from battle, everyday life, etc. Saren's face has that look too, even though 40's isn't that old for a species that lives to be 150... and he looked the same in Revelation when he was supposed to be, what, late 20's? He's been through a lot of battles for his age though, being the youngest turian Spectre.

Also, minor Retribution spoiler warning, but the book also repeats the idea that some people in the ME verse think that asari somehow manipulate people to make them appear more attractive. I like the idea as it makes the sorry less immersion breaking to me.

It's kind of interesting, actually... it seems like a lot of Liara fans don't like Garrus, and a lot of Garrus fans don't like the asari. (And I'm one of those Garrus fans who doesn't like the asari. xD I want MainShep to give Kai Leng a high-five in ME3 for being apparently the only human male in the Mass Effect universe who doesn't find them attractive.)
Now this made me think of a question. Do you guys like all turians, most turians, only a few turians, or just Garrus? I like most of them - one exception is that turian who was talking to Tali during her recruitment in ME1, and Sidonis is the other.

Mmm.. I actually don't hate the Asari in general. I hate that they're space ****s attractive to all species without a viable explanation as to why yet (even more repulsive when they just look like blue human women), but that's about it for the race as a whole. I despise Liara specifically and everything about her.
But I absolutely loooooove Aria. And I'm quite fond of Morinth, though it seems I'm like the only one in that regard.

I like most turians. Can't think of one I hate off the top of my head. I can think of some that are kinda creepy or that are jerks, but none that I hate. A lot of the Omega turians are kinda creepy looking to me. And some of them are douchebags at times.
And I don't dislike asari in the sense that I hate asari characters. In fact, I like a lot of asari characters. I like Samara, Aria, Liara, and Aethyta to name a few. I like their personalities. I even think the idea of a monogendered race that can mate with anybody is somewhat interesting. What I don't like is their physical design. The fact they look pretty much exactly like blue human women with tendrils on their heads is immersion breaking for me. I would like it much better if they were more alien looking somehow.

I know, but almost every single one I've seen in the thread hates ME2 and their fans because of what they did to Liara, or they hate Garrus for one reason or another. Sometimes both.

Quite right. I suppose I should actually address the Turian question, I'd meant to and completely forgot >.<.
But to answer the inquiry, I'm not a fan of the Turian councilor and definitely not Sidonis. Other than that, I love the others (Garrus and Saren hold special places in my heart
).
