I've already told my friends to physically restrain me if I try to spoil myself for ME3.  I'm awful when it comes to spoiling myself, and those either/or choices (Save/Kill the Council, for example) always send me running to the computer to see which one to choose.
However, the one time I didn't spoil myself for a game (DA:O) is the one time a game actually elicited tears from me. (Curse you, Alistair, I was supposed to do the killing blow, you dork!  ) I promptly reloaded and "corrected" my initial decisions, but I look back on that utterly pathetic scene of me wailing in front of my television and think "Damn, imagine what ME3 would do to me if Garrus were in this situation?!"

I'm hoping they have no "save your LI and do something questionable or have your LI die" type choices.

I hope Garrus doesn't have to make a mutant baby with Tali to make sure they both survive. Or something.

I don't mind if it's possible that people are going to die, but I want to be able to have an influence on that. And not through weird rituals.

Personally I'd be happy if Shep could get Garrus into the Spectres in the end and they could be partners for the good of all Council races.

I get the feeling it'll be more like if you "cheated" you lose the loyalty of your ME1 romance or it'll be much harder to gain their loyalty. This in turn will result in a higher likelihood that the ME1 romance will die. It may also adversely affect the opinion of your ME2 romance.



Instance:



Garrus> Why didn't you ever tell me about Kaidan?

FShep> Oh come on, Garrus. You were on the crew--you had to have noticed. Besides, I don't think you would've cared back then.

Garrus> But he's spent the last two years trying to get over you and your death. I... Shepard, you had something good there, and you let it go. How can I be sure you won't do the same thing to me?



Or:

Kaidan> I can't believe this, Shepard. Was it too much to ask to call me, or respond to my email? I really thought that maybe we could give things another try.
