Yep, Ser Cauthrien as an example.Nilfalasiel wrote...

Sometimes military protocol dictates that you call someone "sir" no matter what their gender. It's just what you call a ranking officer.
Good point. They also call all women knights "ser" in DA:O, don't they? First time I heard Ser Cauthrien mentioned, I thought it was a he. Then I realized she was the chick from the Ostagar fiasco.

And yes, Mordin's Garrus LI talk is brilliant. Mordin in general wins the outstanding diolog award. He is win on multiple levels. I love the little throat clearing thing he does. After saying "don't ingest" or after singing Gilbert and Sullivan. The throat clearing is 90% of the funny IMO.

I saved Cauthrien because I was hoping it'd be revealed that she and Anora were involved, and they could live happily ever after. But sadly, no.
Would it be bad of me to say I think Cauthrien is worse than Loghaine? She is one of very few Bioware villains to actually make me feel outrage and anger. Calling me "churl" as I challenged the bastard who butchered my family did not help. Sorry OT.

I wouldn't want to inflict Anora on anybody. Not Alistair, not Cauthrien, not even Cailan.
As for Cauthrien herself, she's a bit of a butterface to me. It doesn't help that she looks a lot like Marjolaine.
@ Raga: I wasn't particularly angry at her, but that's probably because I've only played a Dalish Warden so far. I'm guessing a Cousland would have more reasons to dislike her. Just as an Aeducan would with Bhelen, or a City Elf with Vaughan.
Concerning Garrus still being referred to as "officer" after two years, I'm guessing they simply never bothered formally firing him. Or updating his civil records. Since he simply disappeared, they might've thought "ah, to hell with it, whatever".

It's funny - they paint her as a rather sympathetic character - she's depicted as frustrated, shocked/disgusted by her father's actions, and then they spring her power hungry nature on the player.

I'm probably one of the few people who want more squadmates in ME3. BioWare makes such awesome characters. The one I'd like most of all (assuming I can't have Saren, of course) is Kai Leng. Next in line after him is a female turian romance option for Shepard #4. Who knows, maybe it'll happen. I seem to be getting what I want from Mass Effect lately, like it felt guilty about Liara's trap romance. xD I wanted the DLC to be released on a disc, and it looks like the PS3 version will have that. I wanted the action figures to be available in stores, and Game Informer said they will be. So... come on, Kai Leng! At least I'll get Zaeed come January though.
Random off-topic Dragon Age stuff: Vaughan will die in every playthrough. I don't care if the knowledge has to be meta-gamed into my Wardens for them to know. City Elf male was my first playthrough.

Mordin is one of my favorite characters. Not only is he funny, but I realized that I actually have a genuine respect for the guy. My mainshep was really impressed and sort of looks up to him. I'm actually working on a "Garrus asks Mordin advice on interspecies relations" ficlet right now. I need to finish it and post it.

It's true - depending on what the warden does Anora can seem reasonable or downright unlikable. I don't remember if this was the exact reason, but she was a bit abrasive when I tried to make Alistair the king.Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...
I know, but the Warden doesn't see that cutscene. I actually flip/flop on Anora. Some playthroughs I kinda hate her. Others I don't. Depends on the Warden and the specific things my Warden does. Sometimes I think she behaves sensibly. Sometimes she is a real ****. The main thing that bugs me is that if she is queen on her lonesome, she never marries. No heirs. Brilliant. Because that worked out so well for Fereldon when Cailan died really. At least name somebody your successor if you can't be bothered to produce one yourself.

Yeah, that's what made me dislike/distrust her. The moment I rescued her butt, she went on about how great she was and how much of a wimp Alistair was. While I don't deny that he's not necessarily the most obvious candidate for the throne (and yet, he makes a fine ruler if hardened), I can't stand people who just butter themselves up. So she's talking, and my Warden's standing there thinking "uh-huh, yeah, sure, I'll support ya, just keep telling yourself that."
Concerning the heir issue, it was always going to be a problem. I had the impression that Anora herself had difficulty conceiving, since she never had a child with Cailan, even though she claims she loved him, and he seemed like he'd willingly bone anything with a skirt. So even if you marry her off to Alistair, that's probably not gonna work out, considering how Grey Wardens themselves have difficulty conceiving (I believe that's one of Alistair's reasons for dumping a non-Cousland Warden at the Landsmeet, yes?). And well, if you make Alistair king on his own, the problem remains. That's still what I do though. I can't bring myself to trust Anora, and I don't want to maltreat poor Al more than I already do (in my first playthrough, he ended up hopelessly in love with my Warden, made king...and then got Morrigan'd).
As for Vaughan, luckily, my Warden talked to Soris before she talked to him: that gave her a bit of a hint on what went down in the Alienage. Vaughan's snooty tone just finished the job: she talked him out of his key and left him in his cell. She's not exactly an elven absolutist, but there's not much in the way of an excuse for Alienages in general.
Anyways. Garrus

This talk about making Anora or Alistair Queen/King makes me wonder. Would Garrus, someone who IIIRC professed he prefers action to paperwork, ever consider being head of C-sec?

Yeah, that. I think he wouldn't last a week before he started chomping at the bit. I'm sure he'd be perfectly capable of doing the job, he'd just be bored out of his wits.

My Wardens seem to be getting hilariously messed up endings. I guess it fits in with the Dragon Age universe. I won't go into detail because it would be too much off-topic.
On topic, I don't think Garrus would go back to C-Sec. Even if Shepard Paragons him into it, he still leaves before ME2.

And one last thing on Anora. I know the heir thing is an issue no matter what, and my Cousland actually ended up as queen so no kids there either. But she also specifically knew that and planned on naming an heir pretty much right off the bat anyway, probably somebody from Arl Eamon's family like Teagan who had just gotten married, just so there could be no giant war over succession following any mishap. With Anora, it's like she makes no arrangements of any kind for her death like she thinks she is immortal or something. That's what irked me.

Can you guys think of any Garrus lines that get on your nerves? That can either be a line you think was delivered poorly or else just something he says that irks you for some reason.
Can't believe I forgot all about this, but you know, some of the Archangel lines actually kind of annoy me.
- Specifically: "It was hard. I reeeaaaally had to work at it" - I don't object to the content, but I didn't like the delivery. Sounded a bit too flippant and sarcastic; didn't quite fit with Garrus' dejected body language, even given that he's probably intended to be saying one thing but "leaking" cues that say another.
- "I had to get you moving. You were taking your sweet time." I thought it veered into a certain smugness. Had this smartass tone of voice to it.
