I'm sure they're old hat to many of you now, but Goofygoff, I enthusiastically support your support banners. Mankinis are always comedy.

And woohoo Pacifien! I doff my cap to you.

I like Liara fine but I never romanced her.  Hearing about potential drama makes me want to have a playthrough where I do, though.  I always feel guilty about it, like I'm leading on a nice girl just to use her for her sweet sweet cutscene.

And I'll agree that Saren was always a jackass, but I'm leaning towards "he was monstrous in 'Revelation', but something happened to make him merely somewhat an evil jackass by the events of ME1". Now the question is, what happened? XD

i just don't see him as pure evil. Sadistic, yes. Racist, yes. Doesn't necessarily make him purely evil. He had his own thing going on. Look at the indoctrination. He really believed, that he was doing the right thing for the galaxy. That he was saving organic life from extinction which was still worse than living as slaves. Sovereign took this and brainwashed him with it. Indoctrinating him with it, that he of course would be better off than everyone else but still...

When he commited suicide at the end, it actually shows how he realizes what a tool he'd been. And if he'd been that ruthless, he'd just brushed it off, but instead, he'd killed himself. Shame and remorse were too much to handle for him. my theory, that is xD

And now, now, now, kg, you can't just say you drew a picture and then not show it!

Well... there's always the save game editor to skip the awkward beginning stage of the romance. :)

I think everyone already knows my opinion of Saren. xD I've said several times that he's my favorite character, and Revelation was the reason for that. The suicide scene was when I realized I was really starting to like the guy, but then... you know, he killed himself. In my opinion at least, it seems easier to dislike videogame villains because your character is actually the one fighting against them, which doesn't happen with books and movies. (I've actually been mad at some characters I liked just because they're so hard to beat in the games... trying and failing for months, and hours at a time tends to have that effect.) But I thought Saren's speech on Virmire was awesome. Shepard being able to Paragon/Renegade persuade him was just perfect, and the information from one of the Cerberus News updates about turian honor suicide adds a lot to that moment.

Random sort of off-topic question to keep us more on-topic: Does Clan V have a thread for Mass Effect related stuff, like talk about our Shepards and playthroughs, that isn't Garrus or turian related? It seems like we should, and if we don't, we should make one.

Back on-topic: A few of us have said that a female turian squadmate in ME3 would be great, even more so if she's a romance option. I was just wondering what type of character everyone would want her to be if we could choose. Biotic, combat, tech, or a combination of two? Paragon or Renegade (or Paragade/Renegon)? A "good turian" or someone who breaks the rules like Garrus? Or does it not matter as long as it's a female turian?

He's a racist speciest (or whatever the word was) jerk, but still a turian. Blowing off his own head was the only way to save face.

Also... RAAAAAYYYYY :3

Just created one!

I would love to see a biotic turian. It's an aspect of turian society that I'd really like to see explored more, since all we know about them is what we've learned from the codex.

Awesome. :)

I'd like the turian female to be a biotic too. The Shepard I would probably use for her romance (if the personality was right, of course) is a Vanguard. For the personality, I would obviously prefer one that works with this Shepard, which means not too Paragon and rule-following. Someone who doesn't support vengeance and tries to arrest enemies rather than kill them is not someone he would get along with. Not that the female turian should be a Garrus-clone... but that's kind of his type. xD Garrus is his best friend because they get along so well.

The turian fem LI squadmate I very much wish to be in ME3 should be member of the Cabal, the organisation of turian biotic soldiers. And why not make her a very typical turian (doing things by the book etc...) to make her different from Saren and Garrus who seems to be the renegadeish exception from the paragonish standard turian. Note that I don't say paragon is necesarily "good" and that renegade is necesarily "bad" or vice versa. It could be a interesting contrast you know. And don't kill me for saying this please, but how about letting Garrus and the turian female become friendly if your Shepard (for some strange reson) don't want a turian for him/herself? It could be a fun little subplot.

The Cabal by the way is something we don't know much about. How would you make them look and work? I think they would be a bit like the asari Justicars but directly controlled by the turian military. I would make them look rather scary and imposing.

I've never liked the idea of squadmates pairing off with each other, but that's because I have so many different Shepards that it would feel like a squadmate who's single in one playthrough is cheating on a Shepard from another playthrough.

I think the Cabals would work like an elite military group that specialize more in infiltration/assassination-type missions. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but not the normal "huge armies fighting on a battlefield" kind of combat because turian biotics are a smaller group. Garrus also makes a comment in an elevator conversation that if the turian's biotic implants had high power spikes like L2s, they would keep them despite the side-effects. I'm interested to find out what their implants are like, and their training too. We probably can't judge from Vyrnnus, but I would guess that turians are generally more brutal in their training methods compared to humans.

Turians are more of the "all or nothing" kind compared to humans so when they do fight and train for fighting they get very brutal. The way I see it at least. It would be cool if the turian biotics unleashed their biotic powers with some different gesture than the jedi like hand waving humans, asari and krogans use. If they open up their fearsome jaws and spit out a flash of biotic energy it would look quite intimidating and turian like I think. Technicaly the turian biotic implants are probably similar to the standard asari based tech everyone uses.

Didn't the wiki say Cabals was elite special troops due to the rareness of turian biotics? In any case that would be fitting I think.

This is what I found on the Wiki:

In turians, biotics are also unusual and generally not much better than a human L3. They are viewed with some suspicion by the general infantry and tend to be deployed in specialist groups called 'Cabals' for key missions.

I had never seen that comparison to L3s before. Here's what the Wiki says about them:

L3 biotics are consistently stable with moderate ability; while their upper limit is less than an L2, L3s are safe from dangerous side effects. Because of the implementation date, most L3s are 25 or younger. Some are older, having been implanted later in life.

I think specialized attacks for turians could be cool, and would be likely to happen in cutscenes if we get a turian biotic squadmate. I can imagine the turian female holding out her glowing biotic hand and closing it into a fist, crushing some random merc who was lifted in the air. Instant attraction for the MaleShep I mentioned. xD

Hello ladies (and gents)! Haven't been here in awhile so I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I was listening to the recent Dragon Age 2 podcast, and in it Mark Darrah (the executive producer) mentions the Garrus fan following:

"I like the direction the Garrett Hawke feedback is going. ... I'd love to see something like you see with Garrus from Mass Effect. The line of things like 'Garrett Hawke doesn't spend time, time spends Garrett Hawke'."

I love it how aware the developers, producers, the entire Bioware team seems to be of what the fans are into on the forums and out.  ^_^  That being, we all love Batman-Garrus.

I listened to that just to hear him say it. That's awesome, thanks for pointing it out Posted Image.

I will probably be in the minority here, but frankly, I don't want any more crewmembers/LIs. Period. They need to flesh out the characters they have, first. I don't want the inclusion of a turian/female/rule-following/biotic to take away from Garrus' (and Kaidan's for that matter) role in ME3. Which, given the limited resources on these disks, they will.

I'd rather have more Garrus dialogue than yet another squaddie/LI.

However, the Mass Effect Universe has, I think, been established as a marketable franchise. If they did a non-Shepard sequel series, the turian/female/rule-following/biotic would be a great addition to the crew.

Good point Sialater, more Garrus is something to prefer if we have to choose between him and more turians. But I think they will include a few new LI and squadmates anyway because that sells and in that case I want a female turian.

But hopefully we will see more turians in future ME games anyway.

Yeah, I'm with Sia. Put it off til another game. I'm interested in seeing which way they'll go, though. More squadmates for novelty and new gamers or all story and efforts dedicated to giving a proper goodbye to all the squadmates we already know?

You fantasize about turian females now until you realize they are all brood mothers a la Dragon Age. ****** and tentacles all over the place, squirting out spawn in between sentences. But with a really great personality.

And waves of love to you, Cerrydd and Chimervera!

Actually, one of the Presidium Groundkeeper's hidden sound files says that female turians don't have "funny bumps." xD

I'd like to see more squadmates, and I think there's a good chance we'll get two or three new anyway. If Kai Leng is a possible squadmate in ME3, I'd have the same reaction as when I found out about Garrus being a romance option, which was basically "Yay, BioWare! :D"

Good to see you haven't changed :D

I prefer to have no new squadmates in ME3, but that's unlikely. I just hope to see a female turian. Or more than one :D
